I was in room 812 (also had room 813).
The bed was very poor. Obviously sagged. I slept half the night on the floor.
I appreciate being asked. I was going to email to advise. Was very obviously a bad & old bed.
Otherwise staff etc. all good.

I hosted a 3-day conference for my company at this hotel. The care of the Group Reservationist, Sally, was outstanding. There was a bit of a disconnect between Catering Sales and handover to the Banquet Captain, in fact, I never met the Catering Sales Manager that I did all my planning with. However the banquet staff were very accomodating. I did have a couple of last minute requests with AV for my meeting rooms and having to rely on the captain to pass on the request to the AV techs did result in a long wait time. Overall, the food and beverage and service during the event was excellent.

I knew there is a reason why I am Platinum elsewhere and continue to prefer that brand. I am not sure I could deal with a hotel like this one that has a policy where they can pretty much enter your room whenever they feel like it and ignore the "Do Not Disturb" sign. I think I can speak for a lot of global business travelers who may have to work odd hours and sometimes need a full day of peace and quiet. Well Jodie Frakes and this hotel basically states that they need to enter your room every day to service your room regardless of what your wishes are. This is something I have NEVER had to deal with across all of my global travels. I have already insured that future company travelers coming to Sydney will be staying FAR away from this hotel thanks to Jodie Frakes and their terrible customer service.

We self parked onsite and as I drove in I noticed the overnight weekend rate was $35 when I asked if I could pay that on my room the answer was yes $69, I explained the rate was $35 but was just told that the rate was $69 from them?... I found the receptions approach to handling this to be cagey rather than try and explain.
On top of this I was planning on watching a big game and foxtel was broken my whole stay. Annoying.

This is a lovely place to stay, - quiet, luxurious, beautifully appointed, clean, well located - but the service doesn't match the surrounds. My requested wake up call didn't occur and staff were so slow to bring coffee and take orders for the a la carte breakfast that I was forced to have the more expensive buffet breakfast because I could serve that to myself. Staff were however very fast to update the breakfast bill (while I was away from the table serving myself) but could not be found to serve coffee or take orders. A great hotel but the staff need help to recognize that these apparently minor but key issues influence the experience, and at such an expensive hotel it should be A grade all the way.

I am actually Australian living in Singapore and throughout Asia my preference for business and holiday travel is the Starwood group and i am never disappointed the level of quality or consistency.
When i return home to Australia quite often i do not see the level of service that Asia hotels bring (well spoils people with). This is where the Westin in Sydney CBD is different, the hotel and service is truly impecible from the time you walk in the door.
Yes i understand Asia and Australia is different however Westin provides the consistency that make me return month after month

Spent an overnight stay at the Westin to see a show in Sydney - beautiful hotel, amenities, location, breakfast. Unfortunately appalling administration. 2 out of my last 3 stays at Starwood hotels have had my credit card charged for unauthorised transactions. This time another's accommodation & meals despite prepaying. No apologies. My credit card still has transactions pending using up my credit limit. Arrogant staff and appalling privacy of credit card details.

This hotel is truly a gem in the Starwood system. There was not a single glitch from check-in to check-out in our 4-night stay. All staff are professional and very friendly. A special mention is due to the outstanding service that we received in the evenings in the Executive Lounge from Ho Yong and Sandra. What wonderful ambassadors for this hotel and the Westin in general. The food and beverage was of an exceptional high quality. SPG recognition was also good with an upgrade to an executive floor room. My wife and I are looking forward to our next stay at the Westin Sydney.

As one of the best hotels in Sydney, my expectations weren't sky high, but I hated the fact there was no slippers, no toiletries (paste/brush, etc), computer was down when I checked in... internet fee was wrongly added to my bill even though it was included in the package. I've had better experiences at other 5 star properties in Sydney. Sorry to say that, but you've a reputation to keep, if not exceeded.

I took my wife to the Westin for our 2nd year wedding anniversary.The experience of the hotel room was definitely 5 star. The F&B on the other hand was appalling. I made a booking at Mosiac rather than heading out to the CBD as I thought it would be great to experience what the hotel had to offer. We waited over 5-10 minutes to be seated with not a single staff member acknowledging that we were present. At first the service was prompt but it went downhill from here. Considering it is a 5 star hotel I expected the restaurant to be the same. Not once were we offered additional drinks, our waiter changed several times, we couldn't seem to ever get the staffs attention, our entree was never cleared before main course was served & we noticed many other guests in the same position as us. We didn't stay for dessert as we felt that it would be safer to go offsite. I gave my feedback to the front desk staff in the lobby, they asked for my room number but nothing was followed through. The following morning on check out when asked how my experience was of the Westin I mentioned that the room was amazing but the F&B was appalling. Again, there was no follow through from the staff.
I would definitely stay at the westin again as I throught the hotel was great but I would assure that next time I eat offsite.

Nice hotel with a good location with friendly staff and very good service when we needing something in the room. Everything was great until we discovered a huge roach. We relocated in the middle of the night to a lower floor room, the room was nicer but I prefered not to have a lower room as there was no view and it was noisy from the street. Relocated again in the morning to a higher floor. Better views lesser of a room. I asked if I could have club access for the inconvienece but it was denied. Something so small to make a guest happy especially after moving twice and fining a big roach walking across your wall above your head late at night. The Gym was excellent would be nice to have a wet and dry sauna to relax .

We spent 3 nights at the hotel which was located in downtown area next to all shopping malls. Though our room was on the 3/fl, it was quiet. The room was very spacious of about 450 sq ft. and was comfortable with modern decoration, particularly the washroom. The 'Mosaic' restaurant for breakfast creates a relaxing ambience and the breakfast was impressive with many choices of hot and cold dishes, various types of fresh fruits and juices. Service was excellent and we find it very enjoyable and convenient to stay in this hotel. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

I am constantly amazed at the consistency in service of the Westin Sydney.
The hotel is beautiful and is always maintained to an exceptional standard.
The staff are always courteous, friendly and helpful.
Your facilities are outstanding. It is so good to be able to attend group fitness classes whist staying at a hotel!
And you make us feel that it is a pleasure to have us back again.
We were particularly touched that you recognised it was our 10th stay with you and had a special delivery made to our room.
We love staying here and look forward to our next stay :-)

The idea was for my sister and I to finish our business in Sydney, have a quick dinner and instead of driving 2.5hrs home, stay in a comfortable hotel, relax, watch a movie and enjoy. After eating and coming back to the room about 8.45 we figured out the Movie system did not work, at about 10.45 we had to finally kicking out the technician and say it just isn't going to work. He kindly said we could change rooms but by this time the evening was over, the relaxation gone. A real disappointment.

On our trip to Australia we stayed at both the Westin Melbourne and the Westin Sydney. While both hotels were solid 5s this one was a 5+++. The lobby is a vibrant mix of modern on the hotel side combined with the old Sydney post office on the bar/restaurant side. A perfect spot for a drink and to enjoy the beauty. All staff was accommodating and very helpful. The platinum breakfast was delicious. The room was lovely. Amazing views of the clock tower, the business district. Even ships coming in and out of the port. What a perfect way to end our vacation!

From the moment I checked in (11pm), the staff were welcoming, helpful and kind. The hotel is conveniently located - but the main entrance is difficult to find and we circled around a few times - google maps is no help and directed us down a lane which couldn't be accessed. The room was modern, clean and beautifully furnished. It was very well insulated and the temperature control was effective and not noisy. The bathroom was spacious and convenient. The check-out process was completely hassle-free. Concierge stored my bag for the day and were fast in retrieving it and calling me a taxi when I was in a rush to get to the airport. The goodlife gym next door is available for use - I didn't use it but think this is a good and thoughtful system.

This hotel is the one I would stay out when I am lucky enough to travel with my wife.
For business I stay at a lower grade of spg hotel, but this hotel, Westin SYD is just lovely.
The hotel, staff, rooms etc is all 5 star, true class.
Then, down stairs in the mall level you have such a wide choice of food and drinks with possibly the sexiest bar/lounge i've ever seen as well.
If you're looking for something just a little special and if you like ease in transport choices (I train it normally to Wynyard and walk over) this is the hotel for you.

Everything about this place screams class. On arrival, the valet recognised me from my previous stay and was so nice to see familiar faces again who were so nice to me last time I stayed.
The rooms are exemplary. I stayed in an executive tower suite again and it was well worth it. I highly recommend it!
I have but one criticism and it is with the room service. On numerous occasions I had to send back the tea as I did not receive what I asked for. A pot of teas should be made with tea leaves in a pot and certainly much more than a cup with a tea bag! In the executive lounge on the 28th floor they manage this, so why not when you order room service. Room service needs to be a little more flexible with orders - I refer to salads as one example. I prefer my salad to have more in it than assorted green leaves, cucumber and tomato. It costs much more to add capsicum and other salad bits and pieces. Just over priced for a salad.
Apart from that, I highly recommend the Westin and I cannot wait for an excuse to come back to Sydney, so that I can stay here again.

Our stay at the Westin Sydney was very enjoyable. We were on the top floor with a good view of the city and harbor. The executive club was outstanding and we would like to say the entire staff in the club provided outstanding service. Especially Megan who was delightful and provided excellent service in the club.

We have always enjoyed our stay at the Westin and our accommodation has never been an issue as it has always met our expectations for style, comfort and cleanliness something that we have grown very accustomed to the Westin experience. The only let down was the Executive lounge facilities very small, lack variety of food, glass table tops always looked unclean as food crumbs would get trapped between the table and glass top which is not a nice look. Staff did the best they could despite being a busy time of the year and the lounge was full

I always look forward to returning to this property. Minor issues are always resolved in a timely and professional manner and the hotel is clean and luxurious. Staff (from bar, front desk to concierge/assistance) are extremely friendly and well trained - delivering a superior level of customer service that is an asset to the property and spear wood as a whole.
Ana was efficient, welcoming and extremely helpful at check-in. She predicted my needs and reallocated the room which was extremely helpful. Her confidence, problem-solving, initiative and ability to make me feel welcome was second to none!
Vincent, although only in training, was a star. This man made my stay - he was extremely knowledgable of the local area, confident friendly, professional but most of all engaging and fun! He needs to be congratulated. Sacchin is an asset to your team. He could not have been more helpful. He is bubbly, professional, enthusiastic and extremely hardworking! Well done!
My bags were lost but this was rectified within an appropriate timeframe and staff were extremely apologetic.
Facilities, location and warm atmosphere are next to no other. I look forward to returning in the near future.

Whilst this hotel is definitely 5star there were some issues with housekeeping.
I had a five day stay and on arrival all 3 complimentary toiletry boxes were empty, when they did refresh them I ended up with 3 shower caps and nothing else. It took 3 repair calls / visits for the shower to be fixed as it would not work. Quite inconvenient when traveling with a son of 6ft 5 who had no chance of fitting in the bath. Even though we went out all day the plumber was working on it when we arrived and housekeeping were cleaning the room at 4.15pm

1) I stayed 6 nights. Breakfast was included in my meal, yet each morning when i went to the buffet, they would tell me it was not. I asked them to call the front desk and sort it out. This happened 3 out of 6 times. When I checked out, I discovered they charged me for each of the breakfasts. Not only did I have to make my case each morning to the breakfast hostess, I also had to convince the front desk this was a mistake. Each person looked at me like I was a liar, when in fact they could not communicate amongst themselves.
2) The key card to my room kept demagnitizing. You should have better technology, That's something that used to happen years ago. There was usually a line at the front desk, having to wait is bad enough after i've been up and down the elevator after discovering I couldn't get into my room. Other guests seemed to have this same problem.

THE worst hotel on earth when it comes to internet access/connection. They DEFINITELY don't care about business people!! In this day and age, we can't live or work without internet. The Westin hotel makes you feel it's 1990, and even then I had better internet access. It's a total disgrace. And, they charge a fortune, for at best snail's pace internet access, if you are lucky to get it for a few minutes!!

Came down from QLD for Top Gear Festival and while my son and I went to look at cars, the ladies in the family went shopping. Westin Sydney was terrific. Great location right in the CBD, 50m from Pitt st Mall. Staff were very attentive, and my rooms, although not requested, were side by side!!! Breakfast was terrific with good selection of healthy options as well as the old favourites. My first time in this Westin, and it lived up to my expectations after experiencing the Melbourne property. Great work to all the staff. We will be back.

Facility & location excellent. Hotel staff wonderful helpful and really go the extra mile.
Lobby bar was disappointing for value for money, don't cater for groups larger than 4 there were 7 & upto 10 wanting to share the days experiences & after staying at the hotel for 7 days it was disappointing that we were reluctantly going to our hotel for a drink & catchup. Closing at 12 never understood that concept especially when we are in a major city??? Hence went elsewhere only hotel ever done that sadly explaining to our international guests about needing to milk our cows early morning.
Yes will come back to stay not to celebrate life. Every other hotel overseas was different in that respect.
You do have great staff & great service in all other aspects.

We stayed for the enening and booked with little notice.
The rate was rather high at AUD520 per night for a room that i would normally see advertised for around the high $300's
We were upgraded on arrival which was nice and took a little of the "sting" off after paying such a high price.
Beds are AMAZING .. by far the Westin beds are the best of all the mainline hotel chains !!
Staff, as always are wonderful and many other 5* hotels in Australia could learn a thing or two about customer service from these guys at the Westin Sydney

This is my second visit to Westin Sydney, I am hoping to make this an annual event as I have been coming over for the Sydney marathon each year. The staff are very professional and friendly. The decor of the rooms, and especially the design of the bathrooms are a good example of a truly worthy five star rating. The clock tower certainly makes for a fantastic and unique view for the hotel compared to other hotels of this standard in Australia. Hoping to be back again next year for the Sydney marathon (well organised event).
