Breakfast, lunch and dinner selections and portions were a good value and delicious! Tremendous views of New Orleans and the Mississippi River and the ships from all windows in the hotel. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Comfortable Second time I stayed here, and loved it as much as the first. Great location, great views. Staff is very friendly and rooms are comfortable. They said on their website that the pool is heated, but it is not. I noticed that on both occasions i stayed there. Other than that, perfect stay! Highly recomend. June 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Been years since stayed here and spent one night now as Plat SPG. Upgraded from a traditional room to a suite on the top floor. Very happy with that SPG recognition. Only beef was the buffet breakfast was kind of lame. January 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not up to Westin Standards Complete disappointment. When we arrived we stood at the registration line marked Starwood Preferred Guests. Four other guests arrived after we did and were waited on before we were in another line. We then went to the other line to check in, and asked why we had not been waited on in the Starwood Preferred Guest line. We were told that that line was not open; but she never bothered to tell us that while we were standing there waiting to check in! Instead, she chose to pretend we were not standing in line. That set the tone for the entire 5 night stay. This hotel is dirty, the furniture in the lobby is worn out, the toilet seat in the bathroom was broken upon arrival, and several of the electrical outlets did not work. The room was as basic as they come. In addition, there was litter throughout the lobby and in the elevators, and the pool was filthy. Never have I ever stayed at a Westin that was like this one. It was more like a rooming house than a Westin. The place is in need of a complete makeover. September 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Hotel The stay at this hotel was excellent. Customer service was excellent from me checking in til my departure day, The room was nice and clean and very comfort. I just wish they have a refrigator but over all I would recommend this hotel to my friends. I will stay here on my next visit September 10, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by old and dirty hotel is old and dirty. mold in bathrooms, bathtub, around toilets. room felt generally unclean. hotel felt outdated. i let the front desk know upon check-out. no apology, just "we will look into it." a little goes a long way, namely cleanliness. not what i would expect from this brand May 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by The View by the Lobby is breathtaking. I really loved the view from the lobby. Hotel is clean and staff are all friendly and helpful. I was impressed when I ordered by the bar near the lobby and they brought my food out to me. I do not have to go back in and get it myself. I really felt taken care of. November 11, 2013

I have stayed at many other hotels in the area but my preference is always the Westin and it never disappoints. The staff and hotel are top notch and always mindful of their guests. April 23, 2013

I was able to walk to all the favorite spots of New Orleans. Almost every restaurant I went to was no more than a 10-15 minute walk. September 11, 2013

As a SPG Platimum member the hotel has upgraded me each stay to beautiful suites overlooking the Misssissippi River. The entire staff was helpful with every question or request. December 1, 2012

Recently the hotel upgraded their in-room television service. It is dramatic improvement. I look forward to my next visit. August 27, 2012

Most of all, the staff is wonderful from the doormen to the General Manager. They never disappoint. February 13, 2012

I love the Westin in Sydney and Melbopurne so when traveling to New Orleans I was excid to be staying in the Westin there. it is in a good location and I had a big room with a nice view but that is where it finished. What a disappointment. the big space in the room had only a minibar fridge in it - not only did it look out of place (the spot in the dresser where the fridge belonged was empty) but it was locked and empty! when you need a water in the middle of the night - bad luck - drink from the tap. I had to call housekeeping to get a room service menu because there wasn't one in the room. when they delivered it it was a photo copy stapled together (?). Really Westin - a photocopy of the room service menu is the best you an do? then when I put my tray out I kept my wine glass and water glass as I hadn't finished. The empty glasses then sat there for three days with the lemon wedge slowly going brown - the cleaners had to move them every day to clean but noone took them away. by the end it was gross. Zero recognition of SPG. This isn't up to standard and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. October 21, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Quality Control Needed This hotel is in a wonderful location and thinks of itself as a luxury hotel. But luxury hotels cater to their guests and the biggest problem with this hotel was the staff, most specifically the room staff. The night we arrived, there was a fire alarm -- certainly not the hotel's fault since someone had triggered the alarm -- but, although the staff realized right away what had happened, it took them quite a while to tell the guests. So the guests all were leaving their rooms at 1 in the morning. When we returned to our room, our fire alarm in our room kept going off: battery failure. When we called the front desk, it took them 20 minutes to get someone up to change the battery. At 2 in the morning, it should have been instantaneous. Then there was the problem of no tea one day, only chamomile another day, no coffee one day, only de-caf another day, no creamers for two days, no soap for two days and, on one day, we returned to the hotel at 6 pm in the evening only to find that our room hadn't been cleaned. I cannot recall EVER going to the front desk or calling the front desk so often in all my years of travel. This hotel has potential. The staff was friendly. But, until they get their act together, it is certainly not a 4-star hotel which is what they seem to want it to be. January 1, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Housekeeping was a disaster I'm an SPG Gold member and I often enjoy staying at Westins, but not this time. On my first day, I waited 3 hours for checkin, which meant that I wasn't in my room until 7:00 PM. Check in is advertised at 3 PM, so I was surprised I had to wait at all, much less, 3 hours. I was told this was because too many people were granted late checkout, so none of the rooms were turned over that needed to be which seems like a problem with their timing. They appeased me with wine and coconut shrimp, which I appreciated and left me content for an hour or two, but I started getting really anxy around hour 3. After that, I stayed 4 days and 3 nights, and my room WAS NOT CLEANED ONCE. Even after I called down twice in one day and asked for housekeeping, they still didn't come. I talked to a manager before I left and she comped me one night for my trouble (which I also appreciated), but the housekeeping service was completely unacceptable. We literally had no clean towels, coffee, or cups and our garbage was full. I'm pretty sure I've had better service a youth hostel back in my day. Everyone else was pleasant, but the housekeeping staff ruined the stay for me. I expect a certain quality if you're staying in a Westin and I just don't think I got it. I would recommend you stay somewhere else. January 2, 2014
