Everything about this hotel was fabulous! The head valet was beyond super! He kept his employees hustling, and was kind, professional, and just excellent with clients!

Spent the weekend celebrating our daughters wedding. The entire weekend was perfect. View was gorgeous. Only 2 issues, the valet parking of $28. A day is excessive, and the alcohol prices are a little high. They were adding to the pool area which was inconvient with all the wedding guest and other events, made it pool bar very tight.

First time in this hotel terrible experience . The room wasn't ready until 4 pm and I got the room because I called many to ask when is was going to be available. The rooms are nice clean nice view. The pool too small you need to wait in list in order to get chairs and sit down everything is count by rooms towels and chairs . We had to wait almos 1 hour to get chairs in the pool. The beach is the same we never got chairs in the beach. I would never go back to this hotel in my life

I have come to know Starwoods Hotel's as a front runner in customer service. Typically, the staff goes above and beyond to make sure each guests is happy. This time the staff really let me down!!!! I was charged for parking on days when I took a cab. I was told I would be comped for a meal and then was charged for it. My AC leaked badly and made the room smell. I went into the gift shop and selected items, made the line and asked to charge the items to my room. I was told my account had a block to preventing charges to the room. EMBARRASSING--I did not bring my purse and had to put the items back and get out of line. I go to the front desk and they are not sure why the gift shop staff said that as there was no block preventing charges to the room! They smile and apologize but I found that no one was willing to be accountable or come up with a solution. Just a lot of apologies....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jayson Staff needs a training review
Im a huge SPG fan so was excited for my first stay at the Westin in FLL. I was disappointed in two things, one major and one minor.
First, the concierge was not knowledgeable in the area. I wanted to take a nice walk and head to a cafe and when I asked him for a recommendation he was only able to recommend the onsite Starbucks. When I told him again that I wanted to leave the hotel and go somewhere, he had no suggestions of where I should go. Pretty disappointing for a concierge.
Secondly, I called the front desk for a wake up call the night before I left. Two wake up calls actually at 8 and 815. No wake up calls ever came in the morning. I was awakened by room service with my breakfast at 830am, only to feel rushed and anxious as I had to to leave to catch a flight. I believe I spoke to a Robert (or a Steve) on night shift. When I went to the lobby they informed that my wake up calls were never recorded in "the book". This is highly unacceptable. I had to rush out, not eat my room service ordered breakfast (which I asked to be taken off the bill), but I left this hotel with a bad taste in my mouth of SPG. Not being responsible enough to record a wake up call is pretty major as guests rely on that to leave and catch flights.
Please ensure your staff is properly trained - they seem quite amateur at that location.

Disappointed that this hotel charges for wi-fi in the room...it's free down by the pool, but nobody knew how to access it, so we visited the concierge who was rude when he did not understand how to access the wi-fi. Please consider extending your wi-fi privileges to all the rooms. The toilet was broken and we requested a repair while we were at brunch. Upon our return the toilet was not repaired and needed to request it again but had to uncomfortably sit in the room with Mr. Mechanic in our bathroom....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jeff48 OK, not Great.
Hotel is OK, but staff needs some work. On check-out the young lady was actually rude when I wanted to stay and get a hard copy of my receipt...Also the pool is a war zone if you just want to go donw and enjoy an hour by the pool. Resort hotels MUST staff the pool and let people know that HOLDING multiple lounges when nobody is there is unacceptable. Both time we tried to use the pool ALL the lounges were either occupied or SAVED. Both times we were there 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Half the chairs had just a hat or sunglasses HOLDING the chair...these people hold these chaiors ALL Day long...really sad the hotel does not care more about all the guests...A simple rule, if you want a chair you ACTUALLY HAVE OT BE THERE! And the rep[onse, oh were were very full this weekend...is not acceptable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Julie Great location
The staff was not welcoming as I've come to expect at a Westin property. The valet parking was organized chaos until we figured it out -make sure to call down to get your car! The pool area was packed, and the process of checking out/in towels was a little much. Even though the picture of the King suite shows it has a lounger that a small child could sleep on, it doesn't. We had to get a room with two double bed instead. However, the location was perfect, the view from the room was great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HeadusMaximus Exceptional Attention
I have stayed here many times, where the location on the beach is fantastic. I travel for business throughout Florida and the Westin stands out from the rest by really making you feel welcome and comfortable.
In my last vist, I was really impressed by the personal attention and effort to make me feel welcome. It started with the Valet and Front Desk, but continued through the three day stay with my exceptional housekeeper on the 12th floor (stay on this floor), a very helpful concierge who helped with dining reservation and printed out a contract for me, and pleasant checkout even though I was checking-out early.
While most big beach resort hotels in this area treat you like another unnumbered tourist, this Westin stands out by caring about you. At least they have on my multiple visits here.

Carly and Alex were awesome. I loved that they were so attentive and made us feel very welcome during our 4 night stay. Alex went above and beyond one morning when the kitchen was backed up and breakfast was running extremely late. He offered apologies and was extremely interested in making things better for everyone. We loved Carly at the front desk and her helpful attitude. Lucy at Service Express was also extremely helpful and seemed to always be at work. Not sure if they let her go home!

I would like to thank the westin for the amazing stay I had while in Ft Lauderdale. From the moment my guests and I walked in we immediately felt at home. The staff was very welcoming and willing to help if we needed anything. The view from our room was incredible. The food at the restaurant's were also very good. Dinner at Shulas was amazing. If ever in Ft. Lauderdale again I will definitely be back. Once again thank you very much for an incredible stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimgi Everything was excellent!
We stayed at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Westin for a week starting Nov 16. We had a partial ocean view room. The room was a nice size, we loved opening the sliding door and watching the ocean and hearing the waves. The room was very clean and the bed oh so comfy! Loved the complimentary starbucks coffee and coffee maker and my favorite tazo awake tea and the free water. It really is the little things. We stayed in the South tower and found it very convenient to visit the real starbucks and the gym and get to the street easily. It was not much more effort to get to the pool and beach. We also loved the complimentary umbrellas and chairs at the beach and the sky bridge to get there. That's a BIG plus. We used to stay at "another hotel in the Harbor Beach area" each year but we decided to try something new and are glad we did. Each and EVERY employee we encountered was friendly, helpful and had a smile on their face. It was really mpressive. This hotel is doing something right to its' employees. From the housekeepers to the valet parkers whom we came in contact with every single day for 7 days, they had smiles on their faces and wanted to help in any way that they could. The only thing I would change were I this hotel is that the bathrooms had the louvered door and window which didn't give us much privacy when 2 people are staying in the room. We got around it. Also the gym could use a few more machines and were missing the 10 lb weights which are kind of common. We are a couple that happens to work out a lot though so probably not such a big deal for most people. All in all we were thrilled with our week at the Westin though. Highly recommend this hotel.

Rated 2 out of 5 Not up to current Westin standards
I was unpleasantly surprised with the overall condition of the rooms and some of the common areas. I could have lived with that, but the attitude of some of the staff was a deal breaker for any future consideration of this Westin. Our room smelled, the A/C didn't work, and the sliding bathroom door wouldn't open. After we asked for a new room, the bell man came to the room with an attitude and asked "what's wrong with the room?" We explained and shoved the door open with two hands and all his weight, claimed the odor was paint, and blew off the A/C issue.
Let me remind Westin and the staff at this resort, there are hundreds of options for resorts in this area. Customers are Customers and you have one shot to give them an enjoyable experience. When you don't, loyalty is affected by an exponential factor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Antonya46 Poor services and sub par features
I recently stayed and chose to renew my vows at the Westin Resort & Spa Ft Lauderdale. Room reservations for several of my guest were not booked correctly resulting in my guest being sent to another hotel because the Westin was over booked and one of my guests was checked out of the room even though payment was already received. Even after booking through an event coordinator (with a signed contract) my cake order was not correct which made my special day very stressful. The rooms are just "ok" (even with a view of the ocean) and the individual floors have the feel of a college dormitory. It would also be nice if there was a vending machine or some sort of little store open 24 hrs for drinks, snacks, etc. Overall the hotel and services were not at my expectations and I would not recommend others to stay at this hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SPGFan22 Amazingly friendly and helpful staff
I spent a few days here with my family. As SPG members, we were upgraded to a corner room with a view of the ocean. We were greeted the moment we arrived with smiling staff that engaged us in conversation. Storm helped us with our bags and even went back downstairs and brought us a local restaurant list. The staff at the pool practically ran to help us with towels. Everyone seemed happy and engaging while always offering help to meet our needs. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was well above my expectation, after reading some of the previous reviews about it. The room was very clean and comfortable ; the view was absolutely amazing from the sliding glass door in the premium ociean view room. The staff were extremely helpful and very anticipatory of any needs. Great location and very convenient skywalk over to the beach, though the elevator can get very hot during the day. Would definitely recommend this hotel! Can't wait to stay again soon!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jackiepb2 Recent Stay Disappointment.
The Westin has a great location in Ft. Lauderdale. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of this hotel is unsatisfactory. We had 2 rooms and both had issues. We stay on the 4th floor and both our rooms' carpets were dirty. After we left, my son told us that he stripped the bed for the maid and found a large urine stain on his mattress. Ugh. Although we requested a 4pm check-out (we made this request before we left for our trip), the hotel could not accommodate us, but we did not find this out until the day of departure. Of course they COULD accommodate us if we paid $100. Our friends who were traveling with us DID get a 3PM check-out (and they are not gold or platinum SPG members so it didn't make sense.) We stay at Westin quite frequently. My husband was there on a business conference but the remaining 8 of us were there for a vacation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by PennyL Not so great!
The hotel is beautiful and the room was great BUT that is as far as it went. Our room was next to a wedding party that lacked respect for everyone else in the hotel, when we called hotel security at 4 am they did NOTHING! The pool was hotter than a hot tub and the waitresses were more interested in chatting with each other then serving guests. FINALLY...we were billed incorrectly and after several unreturned phone calls we still don't have resolution! Very disappointed.

However, I checked in on a Sunday for a conference beginning Monday. The hotel was not nearly at capacity, with plenty of available rooms. Yet they placed me in a room with a beutiful view of a vacant building, and it was above a meeting room where amplified music was played until 2:45 AM one evening and 4:15 AM on another. This room should be the last room they assign a guest, not the first. Unsatisfactory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bgjone Service Extraordinaire
Once you get beyond the "pay for everything" mental block this hotel delivers on every level, from the admittedly exhorbitant $25.00 a day for valet parking to the $10 a day for Internet service these folks pamper you at every turn. You will want for nothing, as long as you're willing to pay! Seriously, the service is second to none: the pool, although small, is serviced by an attentive porter and bar tender, with instance access to one of the best beaches in the world. Instant access to your vehicle should you actually need it is implied, check in, check out, house keeping, Starbucks right there. One criticism, the rooms (and beds) are small, with a ludicrous "peep" door in the bathroom (what's up with that!).
Overall, best hotel experience in my 30 years of travelling, congratulations Westin Ft. Lauderdale!

Rated 5 out of 5 by tennispros Amazing Service and Assistance
My family arrived a few days before me at the hotel, as our children were playing in a National USTA Tennis Tournament. During our stay, Matthew Douglas in Baggage Serv. provided a level of assistance to my family that I am so thankful to be part of the Westin experience. With tennis, arriving late & leaving early, we asked about late dinner/ early breakfast which he immediately went way out of his way to assist and even pick up food & beverages for us.

Flight problems we had ended up with a very early arrival but fortunately we were able to check in early, so this was a great start for us. The front desk staff was wonderful. We had a problem with the shower leaking from room above, mantience was right on top of it and for our inconvenience we were given vouchers for breakfast, very good gesture. We ended up being moved from partial ocean view to full ocean view because of the problem.
One day we went out for dinner, as we exited the hotel, we had two velet gentlemen rush up to us with cold water bottles and advised us it may rain and that if we'd like an umbrella to go to front desk for a loaner. Very nice of them.
This hotel and it's staff goes out of their way to make your stay as pleasant and memoriable as possible. Very impressive!
I have already recommend this hotel to a friend.

The location, staff, food, room was outstanding. Everything is so close, convenient to the beach, restaurants and things to do. This hotel should be the example of how to be a clas A hotel. From the time I arrived I was met by "Stormin Norman" our bell man and POC for any thing I might need. The room and staff was delightful. The staff is what makes the experience at any hotel. This hotel knows how to do it right!! Loved it and will come again soon!

I checked out of your hotel yesterday after a week-long stay with my family. I spent many years working in the hospitality industry for a four-star brand, and must say that your hospitality and amenities were excellent. Factoring in your price-point, they were try exceptional. I am familiar with the Ft. Lauderdale area; having stayed at many hotels. My experience at your hotel was memorable (in a good way!).
