Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved our stay Beautiful room on 32nd floor with floor to celing window view of the bay and ballpark. Room seemed recently renovated, clean and good size. Bed was heavenly as always, and the shower was heavenly as well. All staff we encountered were nice and helpful. Enjoyed the world cup game in the bar area and watermelon martini was amazing. Would definitely retunr in the future. June 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff service exceptional I am a frequent guest at the Westin Market on Third Street in San Francisco. The staff is incredible and always looks to provide exceptional guest service and accomodations. There is one employee in particular, whose name begins with "Z", who works at the front desk who never fails to ensure that I have an amazing stay. He cares about the comfort and quality of experience of his guests. He is pleasant and warm. This is very important as a frequent business traveler. November 16, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Slow service, less attention Normally very happy with Westin and SPG. This was an exception. On day 1, bathtub was very slick, and I fell backwards out to the floor, pulling down the shower curtain. Called to report need for repair of curtain and request to not have tub so slick - experience little regard for whether I was okay and no attempt at service recovery. Had no room service menu - called desk and requested one. Took one hour, three phone calls, and two trips to my room to get me a menu. Then, when I ordered food, it was cold and did not taste good. Requested help from concierge (in person), and she treated me like I had come from the country and had no idea about restaurant selection - when, in fact, I am a foodie and seek out good restaurants. She was in a hurry and did not want to take the time to hear what I was interested in finding. November 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel This was a great hotel with a great staff. We had a great room with a great view of the city. We walked to the Giants baseball game and ate at the hotels resturant Maso, very good food and great service. The GM is great guy, and will go out of his way to help you. July 4, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Mediocre Stay Overall, this hotel was okay. For the price I paid I expected to receive a little more attention to detail. First, my room did not receive a complete cleaning for each day I was there. When I asked housekeeping for another packet with an emery board I was told they did not have any. One packet for a five day stay? I don't think i asked for something uncalled for. Dirty glasses were not replaced daily. Also, concierge charged .50 cent for a .33 cent postage stamp. January 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mr. We found the TV programs available were probably the worst of any hotel we ever stayed. Luck for us we didn't have much time to watch it. July 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel with Nice staff The hotel is a great place to stay ijn SF. The hotel rooms are large and have plenty of room. I particularly had a fantastic view of the city. July 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Claustrophobic Room Good location. But avoid Room 628. Poor layout and low ceiling beams. Room feels claustrophobic. Bathroom is tiny. Smallest I have encountered in a US hotel. July 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Convenient location, but lacking some amenities especiallly for the price There were no late night food options either in the bar or from room service. That's unacceptable for a SF city hotel. You are forced to go out to get food or just be hungry. When there was food available in the restaurant, it wasn't that great, not enough to justify the price. Also, I thought the room rate was unnecessarily high. The staff was very nice and attentive. I would recommend staying at this location with some reservations based on cost and amenities. July 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location, amazing staff! My husband and I arrived late in the evening (11:00 pm or so) during a large convention. The only room left was a handicapped accessible one with a queen bed. The room was smaller than our bedroom at home and the safe was missing. It was clean, but, not a place we wanted to stay 5 nights. The staff assured us that when the convention guests checked out the next day, they'd get us a more suitable room as quickly as possible. By 10:00 the next morning we were moved into a larger room with king bed and safe. Also, the concierge was great. She gave us lots of info about area attractions, and arranged for a rental car for a few days. The car was dropped off and picked up at the hotel. Nice bar area. Great breakfast buffet. Lots of common areas with comfortable seating to relax or catch up on work. Hotel is clean and contemporary. September 6, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Failed to meet expectations The room and location was nice and convenient. I was extremely disappointed in the service, however. I called and spoke with several associates to ensure flowers were delivered to my room upon arrival. No one seemed to know what was going on and the flowers were not delivered to the room without me calling down once again to inquire to where they were located. At times, they told me that they hadn't arrived but I had already received confirmation from the shipping company that they had been delivered at 10:30 am. I also requested an upgraded room with a view, received a confirmation email that it was received, but did not get the upgraded room. Fortunately, I was not charged the extra upgrade fee so I did not mention it at the time of check out. Overall, my experience during this stay was not as pleasant as previous occasions. Rated 2 out of 5 by front desk personnel not great Westin usually has great front desk personnel however I wasn't impressed with the Westin Market St. folks. I asked for a room that had a view of the bay bridge and he promised that's what I had. I did not so I asked to move. They put me on the top floor but still no view of bridge and fireworks. The first room smelled strange. The second room had alot of rowdy partiers who were smoking the stairwell. We realized it was new years eve so didn't complain. January 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel As with many other Westin Hotels, this one was clean and efficiently run. Our room was very nicely appointed but rather small for the category (Deluxe Suite). For a stay of more than a few days, dresser and clothing space would be limited. The staff was accommodating, to a point. Concierge service was limited and the fact that there was no sundries store in house was disappointing. Location was key for this stay and the hotel is well located for our needs. September 30, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Room Service I travel a lot and think I'm pretty flexible when it comes to Room Service dining, but this was a low point. I ordered the Roast Beef and Brie French Dip and Tiramasu. The Dip sandwich was reasonable, but the Tiramasu was the worst I've had or seen. It wasn't fresh, it was per-packaged with some sort of lousy brown topping on it. You could get a better one at Seven-Eleven, it was that bad. Very disappointed that Westin would try and offer this to guests. October 3, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great hotel, but restaurant staff needs attention This is a great hotel at very central location. Everything in the hotel is at the expected Westin standard. However, the breakfast buffet offered was not worth the price and on top the restaurant staff was not attentive. People shouldn't work there if they don't want to serve customers. This was not one server the whole staff had a very unusual, non-interested behavior. I am writing this review as this happened to me a couple of months back at this hotel. January 27, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Small Things Mean A Lot I stay at the Westin Market Street very often SPG Platinum every year). The staff is excellent in every respect. Recently , however, management has decided to discontinue providing morning papers (NYT, SF Chronicle) to guests as a cost saving approach. This is a small thing that is annoying to me and other frequent guests I've talked to. Couldn't a hotel of this quality at least offer newspapers like the NYT and Chronicle to its SPG frequent travelers? October 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Westin Experience Simple and classy hotel with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. July 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Breakfast The variety of the breakfast is quite small and the amount of $ paid is not worthwhile. July 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Flawless experience Stayed three nights at the Westin Market and everything has been excellent. The staff was available to help and guide us. We ate at the hotel restaurant and it was delightfull for a decent price. The rooms are very clean at up to date. The location is just perfect since it is a couple blocks away from union square and has a BART station, train and bus stop just at the corner that can lead you to every part of the city. Thanks for this memorable stay! August 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent staff and wonderful location This hotel has an excellent staff and an extremely convenient location. We have stayed at it twice in the last six months. The rooms are comfortable with wonderful views. However, the comfort would be greatly improved if the reading chair had an ottoman. It's nice to be able to put your feet up after a long day of working and/or sightseeing. And the guest rooms really should have complimentary wifi service. I do not understand why this is lacking. Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved the location! The Westin on Market Street is a great location! There's excellent shopping close by, only 2 blocks to Union Square, a few blocks to Chinatown and within walking distance of great restaurants. The front desk folks were awesome as was the concierge. Rated 2 out of 5 by Great potential The room and the facilities were great. I loved the smell of the hotel, cleanliness of the room, and the products in the room. The needs improvement score is due to the inconsistencies in the service given by staff. The bartender couldn't crack a smile and seemed disinterested in helping me. A few of the wait staff seemed annoyed to be working. Your employees are your business. Something is not right with too many of the staff I interacted with. April 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegance There is so much to see and do in San Francisco, staying at the Westin Market Street adds to the experience. From the folks at the front door, to the front desk to the cleaning staff, the employees are eager to add to your stay suggesting places to see and things do do. Even the bell hop who got me a cab suggested an appetizer at the restaurant I was headed to and he was right, it was a wonderful addition to my meal. Customer service shines here! November 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by San Francisco It was only a one night stay, the location was great, check in was easy, and plenty of restaurant and shops nearby to keep you busy. Everything was good, except the room was too small, the water pressure wasn't strong enough, and the water temperature was luke warm, definately not hot enough for a show. I mentioned this to the hotel upon checkout, and there wasn't much of a response, but these are important to frequent travelers and worth noting April 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by The hotel was great and the location was fine The company has recently sold the corporate apartment; so I am trying to find my "new" regular in SF while I am in town. The accommodations were fine but the WiFi set up was less than perfect. I will bring my own hot spot with me in the future. Coming from Austin where FREE WiFi is ever where and Google fiber is going in; SF is a smaller city now. It may be the IPO hub now but that will change with backward practices regarding connectivity. Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok Not Great Location great. Issues were internal. The tub backed up on day 3 of our 4 day stay. I notified the front desk in the am. I was told it would be taken care of by evening when we returned. It was not. Left another message the issue it was not taken care of by the time we left. We had one meal, a breakfast at their apparently new restaurant area. clearly priced for business not family traveler. Way too expensive. If you stay here, eat anywhere else July 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top Notch Service We were welcomed immediately and treated very well; the attendant checking us in was not able to provide a room upgrade, which worked out fine for us. While we were out shopping for dress clothes for our children, she sent up a little gift of snacks and fruit for all of us. She left a nice little note. It made our stay that much more enjoyable knowing that the service was exceptional. We will stay here for our annual holiday trip to the city! September 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent option in downtown San Francisco The hotel is well located; an easy walk to Union Square, the financial district and the Embarcadero, as well as a stone's throw from SFMOMA. All the facilities (well, not a pool) and professionalism you'd expect from a Westin. July 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good location, large rooms, well maintained The hotel is in an excellent location, central and easy to walk to cable cars, the market, and lots of shopping! They tout their Tesla charger, but only if you pay for valet parking, about $60 a night, and then you have to pay for every 20 minutes that you have the car charging. Unpleasant valet person, so this was a big negative. June 11, 2014
