Very good location. Second room smelled like dog. 35th anniversry. Was suppose to be ocen front not harbor view. Maid service was not at requested time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Edward98 Hotel has a great location
Location is great. Disappointed in the room for the price. The blinds on the door was missing slates. Got up in the morning to have coffee on the balcony with a "parcel ocean view" and there was a cruise ship in the way
I guess we paid for the location . Could not figure out where our rooms was because the entrance to the hallway was behind a door marked " ice machine"?

Rated 3 out of 5 by ke175 A bit dated and run-down for the price
We were less than impressed with the hotel considering the price. The location was great, and we enjoyed our balcony very much, but the room felt run-down and outdated. The layout of the room was awkward, and the bathroom was very small. To close the door to the toilet/shower area, you had to be a contortionist. We enjoyed our stay, but the hotel needs some cleanup and refreshing - like new carpet and paint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Spanky Beds are VERY uncomfortable
The location of the hotel is great. Right on the water, and in the heart of the Key West bars and shopping.
The beds are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Both my wife and I had back pain after sleeping on these beds, and we don't have back problems.
The air conditioner is VERY VERY noisy. It makes a constant rattling sound, and keeps you up.
We were upgraded from a partial ocean view to an ocean front room because our room wasn't ready on time. Great, except it turned out to be a cruise ship view more than an ocean view. The cruise ship parks right in front of the hotel. On top of that, there are several trees right in front of the balcony's that block the ocean view.
Other than that, the room was very clean, the maid service was excellent, and the hotel staff is very nice.
This hotel is nice, but definitely NOT worth the money. I would not go back. There are other hotels in the area that are better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Chris27 Over-priced; under-delivered
The hotel should not be rated as a top resort. Other than its fabulous location in Key West, I found it to be significantly lacking in ammenities and staff service. This was my second stay within about six months. On both occasions, my room was not ready until well beyond the 4 o'clock "guaranted" check-in. Recently, I was literally painted into my room by maintenace painting the sidewalk in front of my room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by frequentguest99 Good but not great
The hotel teases you...it has the facilities, has a great location, has good enough rooms, but it falls short in a number of areas. Service is just OK...expect to wait in the dining room, around the pool, etc. Maid service was less than satisfactory. When leaving the hotel the day of checkout, they tell you at the front desk that you can spend the day and that they will "cut a key for you to use the health club shower and changing facilities". Sounds great. What they don't tell you is that it is a shared shower (i.e., one for men and woman) so expect to wait to use that and when you get to use it, expect it to be very untidy from a day of full use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CMB4 Great location.
The suite our family members where in was very outdated, dreary.
Our room was a bit more updated but needed more lighting by tv/ storage area especially.
Again a dark room. Very overpriced, I would of expected higher end finishes for what we paid. Food was good. Staff was great. Any staff member we talked to , especially the pool bar(Andy??) was great. Just need updating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JayQ Not Thrilled Overall
The staff at the hotel wasn't helpful upon checking in (room wasn't ready). Had a hard time getting anyone to check our bags and later the bar service was terrible. The room was nice, but like most hotel rooms not really clean (lint, dust, etc- I am picky). The location is great, beautiful views & close to everything (except a beach- but it was too cool for that, so it wasn't a big deal). Pool was nice & warm, but it's pretty small for the size of the hotel, as is the gym.

Rated 3 out of 5 by B2fil Did not meet the standards of a good hotel
While overall the stay was OK, there were lots of small issues that irritated. Lattes were not available in the restaurant, the bar was closed for private functions 3 nights in a row, wireless access was difficult to the point of useless, no in room movie rentals... All actually relatively small issues, but the end result was a stay that was disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lizzy48 The Location of this hotel is excellent.
But the sheets were dirty on our first night. When told about it the front desk was apologetic and said it wouold be taken care of immediately. When we went back to the room 2 hours later, the room had not been cleaned. I realize that Key West "immediately" is a little more laid back, but c'om, dirty sheets?? It has changed my view of the Westin and of the SPG experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Brook Great location needs cleaning
First impression at arrival to our room was not good. The elevator carpet is very dirty and needed to be vacuumed. The day we left it needed to be vacuumed. The hall carpets are also dirty. The front desk sounded good but was lip service about when the room would be ready. A couple of suggestions for the future: Put security (card readers) on the doors into the buildings and in the sitting rooms put in bigger windows so the view can be enjoyed when sitting in there.

Used double points for suite ,waste of points. Suite old and outdated and not very comfortable feeling.quite disappointed I wasted the points for room upgrade, ocean view a stretch at best ,suite old ,lots of wasted space and room felt cold and uncomfortable as layout of room forced air conditioning on top of you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mwbridges Not Ocean Front
Although room was introduced as Deluxe Oceanfront it was actually an ocean view room. And when I say ocean view, I mean an occasional view of the port. It did not directly face the ocean. During the day, any ocean view was blocked by a large yacht (for several days) and a constant stream of cruise ships. Also, the room itself was pretty standard Westin. Al be it a nice room, there was nothing particularly deluxe about it. If you stay here, I suggest going with a less expensive room that faces the pool.

The rooms need upgrading. We were in a two bedroom suite. You needed binoculars to see the TV from the bed; the air-conditioner unit was way too loud; other than the bed there were no furnishings to speak of. The weather was great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Phil Great location, average hotel
My Trip Advisor review: Four of us just spent two nights in a suite at the Westin KW. Our experiences were mixed. Undeniably, the location is excellent being just a few blocks from Duval Street and positioned right on Mallory Square - a great place to watch sunsets. We booked a two bedroom suite and found the room(s) wanting in many aspects. For $700+ a night - we expected something very nice. It wasn't. To create the suite - the hotel architects merely took four contiguous "normal" rooms, kept the two end rooms as bedrooms, and left the middle two room areas as the living area. The design simply didn't work! The living area was uninviting, had no wall decorations, and we spent almost zero time enjoying it. Cleaning services were wanting - there was a towel left-over from a hot tub visit that sat wadded on a bench in our room for two days. Did I mention the bachelorette party group booked next door to our room? "Quiet" was not in their wheelhouse. I'm not doing the poor room design justice here (it was actually worse then this reads) - suffice to say: DON'T EVER BOOK A SUITE AT THIS HOTEL! BTW, the hotel concierge was located in the lobby of our building. We all, separately, commented on how unfriendly these people were. An occasional "hello" would have been nice, especially after passing by the desk 10 times a day...Next visit to KW we'll stay somewhere else.

This hotel has the potential to be the best, but it is dirty and out dated for the prices they charge. The rooms are NOT what the website pictured. The dirt from the vents are thick and also in different areas like the towel bar. The windows are even dirty. What is hard is that the location is fantastic! and the service at the restaurant is excellent.
Amy (mgr) needs to really listen, she pretends and did little to fix situation.

The location is the only advantage of this hotel. You can walk to Duval st, seaport, and other places. Other than that, the hotel itself does need improvement. Parking, check-in counter, and the guestrooms are all different buildings, so it's hard to move around if you have lots of luggage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by WGSLAW Westin Key West Resort Disappointing
While the food at the Westin Key West Resort is excellant, the resort itself is a disappointment. Again, with the exception of the restaurant and recreation staff, the front desk staff ranged from incompetent to rude. I had to wait 30 minutes past the regular check in time to get into my room. The room--a two bedroom "suite"--was strangely appointed. A mish mash of furniture that was somewhat "beat up". The main room was dark and dimly lit. I had to move lamps and furniture around to make it comfortable. The walls are stark with no art work. The entrance to the "suite" was long, dimly lit, and empty, and felt more like like a storage hall. It was lined with 3 odd "buffet" style tables and a refrigerator just sitting on the floor against a wall. The view was great and it was clean.

If you are traveling to Key West and want to be in the middle of things, you can not beat the location. I was pleased when I arrived that they merged 2 reservations so we did not need to check in/out/in during the same stay. Al was great at check in.That said, our room was not serviced by Housekeeping our entire stay. We checked in Thursday evening and out Sunday morning. On Fri & Sat morning, we saw the housekeeping cart, even saw the maids in the rooms next to and across the hall from ours. Both days we came back to our rooms late afternoon (5ish) and saw the rooms had not been serviced. Friday night the maid watched us walk into our room after 5, then knocked on the door and asked if she could clean it. I'm pretty sure it should have been done by then! I tried calling Service Express but kept getting a fast busy signal.
Pool is unwelcoming. My husband and I went to lounge and every chair had a wet towel on it. It was late in the afternoon and there were not very many people there. Staff needs to do a better job of cleaning up after guests and turning chairs over so guests actually feel welcome at the pool.. I called to request a later check out and was told no, as I did not request it in advance. Hmm...was never told that as a SPG member before. At every other Westin I have ever stayed in, late check out is standard for SPG.

I would not tell anyone NOT to stay here but I would find another hotel in the same price with more room attributes. I had no idea the deluxe rooms would not have a bathtub, etc.
The sunset from our oceanview room was unbeatable...and the staff was nice but not accomodating when we requested a late check-out. It was our honeymoon so we made the best of it:)

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cubaray Great room, confusing layout to property
The room was very nice and comfy. Unfortunately, a couple of things made for a less than excellent experience:
1. Confusing layout. The rooms are in a separate building from check in. Staff neglected to mention this and there are no signs explaining this either. 30 minutes wasted.
2. Coffee. We need coffee in the lobby! Even if it's for sale, just get it in the lobby.
It's a good place for vacationers, terrible for the business traveler!

I've been staying in this resort for several years, but usually during the winter, or "high" season. I found some of the staff to be less than sharp on the details, and a bit curt at times, which was certainly a surprise. We requested a roll-away at 4PM. Returned to the room at 10PM, and it wasn't there. Called and had to wait until nearly 11PM for it to be delivered. Next day, we had to wait nearly 30 minutes for valet to finally acknowledge us and then bring the car, though we were the only patrons waiting.
The attention to detail simply wasn't there. Was I disappointed, definitely. Would I return? Sure, but not during the summer when the hotel seems to be under-staffed.

Oceanfront room description should have a little astrisk next to it saying it's oceanfront, but there's a giant cruise ship in the way. Carpet needed cleaning and was sticky, yuck. The cable tv didn't work very well. When I spoke to the front desk about the issues, no apology was given.

Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Duvet on one bed had what appeared to be a blood stain on it, not visible because sandwiched between two clean sheets. Noticed too late to request fresh linen to replace it. Inside shower curtain had long mold streak on it. Believe the carpet need to be freshly shampooed. Otherwise very comfortable room. Service at Bistro 245 was speedy and efficient. Food was not up to the standard I expect at this level of hotel.Bacon was burned, waffle was cold and dry. Minimally needs to have printed out floor plan directions to facility.
