First time I stayed at this Westin, was pleasantly surprised by the little kitchenette in our room. We really appreciate having that on longer stays. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This hotel goes beyond regular hotels normally found in cities.
Spacious rooms with separate bedroom and small kitchen area providing the convenience of dining in rather than having to go out every time you want to eat.
Fantastic location for everything in downtown Vancouver.

I stayed here on an award stay.
We arrived at the hotel a bit before noon (well before check-in time). we were upgraded to some sort of corner / city view suite, which had a living room, bedroom, large bathroom, two TVs, minibar, microwave, dishwasher, etc
The staff was accommodating of my request to check out late (4pm). They recognized my platinum status, made sure I understood the free internet, bottled water, etc (many hotels do not do this anymore, even when you are a full paying customer and not on an award stay).
The hotel is in a great location in the middle of town. Next time I am back to Vancouver I will certainly stay here.

Really liked the hotel - great room with a balcony and view and centrally located. Only complaint is there are only 2 elevators and can be pretty slow. Concierge had lots of helpful suggestions. They also brought a separate fridge to my room for personal items upon request at no charge, which was appreciated.

We had an unusually bad stay for a Westin. Maybe we caught it on a bad day, but there was no one working the SPG Gold & Platinum Desk at check-in, and then when we got to our room it hadn't been properly cleaned (i.e. leftover food in fridge, toilet full, etc.). The staff was genuinely apologetic and had the room re-cleaned, but we were expecting more given the offense. I think the staff here is very friendly but the hotel rooms and common areas are outdated for a Westin.

Always chose this hotel while staying in DT Vancouver as their staffs are very friendly, professiona,l and hospitable. Management seem to have gotten it right that people will come back depending on how their front liners interact with their guests. Definitely not a 'stuck' up hotel.
Only drawback is that as of late 2012, you have to swipe your credit card to use the business centre. Used to be free to access the internet for platinum members in their business centre.

Big disappointment. Old hotel, apparently its a converted apartment building. Rooms and hallways feel like a cramped European hotel. Very slow elevator service - only two to servie all the guest floors?!? I had to wait avg 5 minutes for a lift each time. My room stunk like chlorine when I arrived and musty when I woke up in the morning. Internet did not work and they could not resolve (spoke to some outsourced guy who was not even on property).

The Staff at the Westin Grand in Vancouver continuously provide superb services. The professionalism, courteousness, thoroughness, and customer-oriented services provide by the employees are greatly appreciated. It is extremely noticeable when you receive genuine hospitality while you stay at the Westin Grand in Vancouver Canada. Each employee that I come in contact at the Westin Grand has become my friend. The extra miles that the employees go to make my stay pleasurable is amazing. One example is for 2012 Christmas, I received in the mail at my home address a signed Christmas card by each employee I have regular contact with.

I have stayed at this Vancouver hotel a number of times. Each room I had a balcony, was very clean and comfortable. The staff are accomodating and friendly.
Check in and out was quick.
The hotel's location is great, close to Yaletown restaurants as well as Lions and Canuck homes. We dropped into "Jimmy's" bar, housed at the entrance to the hotel and found great prices, good atmosphere and fabulous food. We will be back.

I love staying at the Westin Grand whether its for business, girls weekend, wedding event or family vacation! The location is terrific and at hte end of the day you can always count on a great nights sleep in the comfort of those wonderful beds! The staff are freindly, knowledgeable and always pleasant!

A compact hotel within a large complex on the busy Robson street in Downtown Vancouver. A one bedroom suite with balcony with a 270 degree view was very much to my liking! The very compact hotel restaurant called "hidden" has space for a fine breakfast buffet with excellent salmon. The too small swimming pool and only 2 elevators for a 30 floor building are the only major disappointments.

Regardless of where you want to go, Westin Grand is extremely convenient. There are a lot of restaurants and shops surrounding the hotel. You absolutely cannot go wrong by choosing this hotel. The whole repertoir of staff are extremely friendly and helpful, keep up the good job!!

The attraction for me was the steam room. The workout facility is nice.
The main lobby restaurant closes too early at 11:00, most people come back from supper later. I was guided to go to another place out side of hotel for snacks. Good location downtown

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed The Decline of Westin (and SPG)?
Increasing profits by reducing service is a strategy attempted by many companies in the past. SPG is chosing to lower it's standards yet somehow expects to retain customers. Like so many before, it doesn't work.
For example... A two person room is not sufficiently stocked for ONE individual. If you are used to a full service hotel this will catch you unprepared.
- One tiny shampoo (for 2 to share)
- One tiny conditioner
- No shower cap
- No toothbrush
- No other amenities in the bathroom
- One robe (for 2 to share?)
- No slippers
- Clock was set 15 minutes fast!?
Hotel staff informed me the idea is for the guest to call reception and have all these items delivered. Nothing in the room tells you this. At the same time, it's now up to the guest to inventory and establish a supply chain with the staff.
Similarly, for Gold members in Tokyo or Beijing - complimentary water is provided. Not so at Westin Grand Vancouver.
OVERALL: The reduction in service and lack of attention to detail made this my last stay at the Vancouver Westin Grand. If it is the trend for SPG - time to switch to any of the other myriad of other hotel chain choices available.

We had a brilliant start to our second honeymoon here. Service, facilities, room, view, location, extra care: ALL second to none.
Started superbly, after 18 hours of flying, with Priya on the check-in telling us everything we needed to know, and nothing we didn't.
The room, a high corner suite has great views (the weather helped I guess), and the little extras recognising my platinum level membership were much appreciated. Good food available all around the location - hence why a small bar/restaurant only in the hotel itself I guess. Breakfast in here was VERY good, catering to all tastes and appetites.
Easy walk / bus / train to all points of interest. Easy to get taxis when required.
Totally helpful staff in the restaurant, concierge and manning the front desk, ALL day, EVERY day.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and we'll be back in Sep for our friends' wedding.

We recently stayed at this hotel due to the location (close to the Rogers Center) as my wife had tickets to Fleetwood Mac concert.We are gold members and were given a great room on the 30th floor.The hotel sent up a birthday cake for my wife upon our arrival .A nice touch for sure.Our room was clean,and had a fridge,bar area with sink,dishwasher,toaster and dishes for three people.
The best part of our stay was the staff from the bellmen,to the ladies at the check in counter.
We usually stay at the Sheraton walled center as my wife enjoys the view of the ocean harbor but after this stay I think we will be staying at the Westin.
Thank you to all the staff for a warm welcome and a great stay.

I have stayed at several Vancouver-area hotels including many Starwood and believe this to represent the best value and the best option. The rooms are all suites (as far as I know), many with kitchen facilities. The beds are comfortable and set in a separate room. The rooms come with in-room coffee and other useful amenities. The blackout curtains are good and block most light. The location is close enough to walk to most parts of Vancouver downtown business core, shopping on Robson Street, Yaletown, and also events at Rogers Centre and BC Place. There is a decent health club with a lap pool that is quite nice in the warm weather (not covered), and the bar and restaurant are very serviceable.

My spouse and I have stayed at this location many times over the last 10 years, our most recent stay on Dec 18, 2013 was sadly very disappointing. We stayed in a King Deluxe Room on the 11th floor. The cutlery in the kitchenette drawers had food stuck on them, not just one piece of cutlery but almost ALL. This is unacceptable, housekeeping must empty the dishwasher and put this cutlery away, to see the old food still stuck on all of the spoons/forks/knives and still continue to put them in the drawer for the next guest to use like that is beyond disgusting. As soon as we opened the fridge we saw hair in three different places. I couldn't sleep all night disgusted by what we were going to find next. The bathroom shower was so dingy and there were water stains/damage on the walls so we only used the separate tub. The restaurant was closed for a Christmas party so we went out for dinner, we self parked in the underground parking lot for $30/day, the front desk knew we were self parking and so did the valet but everyone failed to let us know that the parking lot is locked after 11:00pm. When we returned for dinner we waited, honked, tried to swipe our pass for 20 mins but could not enter the lot, finally I called front desk and they told me "oh it's locked after 11:00pm" and to go and ask the valet to open it for me. This was so inconvenient, it would have been nice if front desk had let us know this beforehand then maybe I would have parked elsewhere to begin with. This hotel was once nice but no longer meets Westin standards, even the snack bar was nearly empty and funny that there are no feedback cards anywhere to be found in the room, this whole exoerience was not worth what we paid at all, unacceptable and SO disappointing.

I received an upgrade which was great, the downside was the staff banging on in the amenities room next door 26flr, the phone didn't work, and there were no powerpoints available so I requested an extension board and got it. Didn't get the green option to save water on towels etc. Clean comfortable and great beds, internet worked very well. No iron in the room but got one. Gym was good one bike, free weights and weight machine, pool was small but can do laps spa was great on 3rd floor outside.

This hotel is a great pied-a-terre from which to tour, visit sights, shop and dine. Not over-bearing. Children are well-received.
Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms comfortable and well-appointed. Lovely pool area and well-equipped gym. Great breakfast buffet.
Would recommend it without reservation.

I've always had great stays at the Westin Grand Vancouver, but this time I booked it with my points for some friends that were going for their first time. They absolutely loved it, and it just reinforced my belief that this is the best hotel in Vancouver. It's where I always stay, and it's where I recommend anyone else stay. The staff is excellent, always doing their best to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The rooms are big, clean, and great. The location is the best. Really, there isn't anything I'd change about this property. Well done Starwood.

We just stayed the night on March 2nd and once again the Westin Grand made the experience special. Our chek in took and entire 30 seconds as they were prepared for me by having keys,upgrade,making me feel welcome and all my details ready. We got to our upgraded room and there was cheese cake and drinks waiting for us and a big thank you for this being our 30th stay here.I did not even know that. We will continue to support this well located well staffed Hotel and I just want to say thank you for making us feel special. Well done Westin Grand!!

Unfortunately we were told upon arrival that there would be an upcharge to our prepaid booking for a king size bed which we were not prepared to pay. The queen size bed was extremely uncomfortable for a 6'-2" tall person who finished up sleeping on the couch for 2 nights out of the 3 night stay. Sleeping comfort was a dismal disappointment compared to previous stays at Westin hotels.
The room was otherwise very comfortable and the kitchenette was well equipped. Location highly desirable.

My experience of The Westin Grand in Vancouver was awesome! The hotel itself is centrally located in downtown Vancouver and is within walking distance to a good selection of downtown shopping, dining and even nightlife. What enhanced my experience of this hotel was the staff. They're amazing! Not only is everyone at the hotel very helpful but you can tell they're genuinely interested in helping you and to me, that's gold.
The condition of the hotel is fairly new. The front desk, lobby, bar, and downstairs restrooms were all very well kept. The rooms were everything one would expect from a Westin property; felt safe, very clean, well kept, and COMFORTABLE.
Very well done Westin Grand, my friends, family and I will definitely come back to see you again.

We stayed here twice in our 3 week holiday in Canada. Four nights on the first stay and one night in our second stay. The hotel staff are exceptionally helpful, te specially the serving staff at breakfast. The hotel is in a convenient place, 10 minutes from Gastown and Canada place and 5 from the wonderful restaurants in Yaletown including the ferry to Granville Island. I would definitely stay here again.

I was extremely impressed with the level of customer service and professionalism every member of the staff displayed at every moment; from the wake-up call, addressing me as Miss...., to the room service waiter and the concierge staff. I travel a lot for business and I have to say, I was very, very pleased with my stay. I also have to add that I just loved my room. The quaint granite kitchenette and the elegant bathroom made my stay fabulous. I would highly reccomend the Westin Grand in Vancouver.

we have stayed at this property several times and found it great location,pool and rooms. Not this time however... a/c did not work properly, pool closed for a private very loud !!! function so could not be in the room. ; We booked this hotel to be able to use the outdoor pool. We should of been notified and we would of booked somewhere else.
