I am an SPG Platinum, the first room they gave me faced an internal air vent. I had to complain in order to get a room that looked outside.
The new room was very warm so it made sleeping very uncomfortable. All the "soft" goods look tired and worn. It definitely needs to be refreshed.
Staff was very pretty, but not very helpful. They would smile and do the least amount of work. At the breakfast buffet not one staff member spoke to me. Not even to offer coffee or orange juice. It was kind of weird.

I am SPG Platinum and receive great benefits and rooms wherever I go. Not here. I was stuck in a small room with a room that faced another wall. Basically no daylight. No iron in the room and can't be ordered - pay 12 Euro to iron a shirt!
Grumpy staff in the Breakfast room - treated one like a nuisance. Breakfast buffet is 40 Euro for dry eggs and some potatoes. Terrible value for money.
Only real delight in this hotel: the concierge (fantastic) and the lady who welcomed people to the breakfast. Worst: waiters, housekeeping and whoever assigned that room to me

The ratings above are on the basis of us having been woken at 7am by building works on the floor below. By 7.30am there was unbearably noisy drilling in the room directly below, which after two phone calls to reception ceased at 830am, only to start again at 9am. When we repeated our complaint at check out we were simply told that building works should not have started until 10am. Needless to say we were really disappointed that the expected relaxing romantic break in a 5* hotel was not what we received.
A beautiful hotel, but the room should not have been in use at this time.

My initial reception was unfriendly and un responsive until I reminded the man at reception that I was a Platinum member and entitled to certain privileges. I complained about the air conditioning in the room which was extremely noisy but nothing was done about it. There was also considerable noise in the room from work being carried out in the hotel which I also mentioned. I would have expected my room to be changed but it was not. People I was with who had another room had a part of the toilet fall on them and nothing was done about it.
An empty bottle of wine, wine bucket and dirty glasses were left in my room throughout the whole stay.

The hotel is under construction and the work started early morning with heavy drilling. The noise was very loud and one point I had to drop from a conference call because of the background noise. Also, the AC in the room did not cool the room to normal US expectations. I would say it cooled to around 78F.

This is the worst hotel that I ever stay in SPG network. I could not imagine how bad the service in this hotel.
The front office staff offer no service and provide no assistance at all and the front office staffs were so snobbish and so un-respecful to hotel guest .
I strongly suggest Management of SPG group to send the Front Office persons, except Ms. Lina who was very helpful, to other part of the world to learn about Customer Service. Fortunely, I appreciate Ms. Lina who has very good understanding on Customer Service that manage to calm me down.

Service at breakfast was non-existent and hotel room (a deluxe) had old carpet that was stained. Room was suppose to be in newly renovated wing though did not appear to be from inside room. Hotel overcharged us in error and only good feature of this hotel was the housekeeping

It would seem that no one has informed the staff of Westin standards for courtesy and service, In a country were service is notoriously poor, this is not a surprise but is unacceptable in a hotel of this caliber and at those prices! Barely any recognition by the staff at check-in (didn't call me by name a single time), the platinum "upgrade' was to a room that looked more like a wide corridor overlooking a dismal inner courtyard. From our low floor (3), it was Impossible to tell if it was day or night! The concierge acted like he was doing a favor to provide information or make a booking and to several questions, simply responded, "I don't know"! They were not difficult questions...and this treatment brought me right back to the days of this hotel's former ownership. The typical employee arrogance and sense of entitlement of that group has no place in a Starwood property!
We were in Milan to attend a very important formal event and my partner was outraged that there was no iron or board in the room. He got the usual lie that it is against Italian fire laws (then why are they present in rooms at other international chain hotels in Italy?). He made such a fuss that the manager eventually came to collect the pieces and then hand-delivered them back an hour later for no charge...the one bright spot in an otherwise unexceptional hospitality experience.

The hotel is fine... your basic, boring business hotel. It's nothing special, but I would never recommend it to anyone. There is a massive instruction page in the room of how to connect to the internet (which was actually no problem at all), and at the very end, an e-mail disclaimer:
The in-room Internet connection is provided by Quadriga: any outgoing communication would have as a reference this provider and not the actual author of the e-mail. Italian antiterrorism law does therefore not authorize us to provide this type of outgoing mail service on the in-room connection.
Bottom line, you can get and read your e-mails, but you can't respond. This is a slight problem for most business travelers, and certainly a reason to stay elsewhere.

room had torn curtain, no working a/c,
mold around tub, no robe or personal products for 2nd occupant, no turn down service, didn't accept charges to room at lobby bar. not a friendly atmosphere.

I have read the negative feedbacks about this hotel And a lot of it has to do with value and the administration writes back that we are so sorry and it is just laughable where they don't just offer something to the person that they feel they were cheated out of especially if it was an experience that they should've been comfortable with. I was traveling with my family and worked out all the details with breakfast and with Wi-Fi with my platinum status and it turned out that they read the letter of the platinum contract and would not extend the breakfast courtesy or the Internet to the second room which I paid equal to the amount of the first room. I was told there was a certain amount of cash and points and when I left it seemed double that amount along with the stingy platinum rule, the room was on one of the lowest floors which had tons of noise and there was plenty of time to make that a perfect experience with the higher floors and the better views but it never happened. The management should be fired and replaced because of the chintzy offering of a breakfast that might've been worth $10-$20 in the states but was going for $60 and was the least expensive that I saw on my trip in Europe his year. Overall this experience made me rethink along with the amount of monies that I had to spend about this platinum and the points that I better used with another card because the value is not even close to being equal with the competition. I would also only recommend to anyone else to stay at a hotel which has a club floor Especially if they are traveling with their family And paying dearly for these benefits

This was my worst hotel experience with Westin and possibly any other hotel. It took me 45 minutes to check in. The staff were rude and were very unhelpful. I couldnt sleep most of the night because the rooms are so old you can hear any movement from neighboring rooms. I was so happy to leave; terrible value. For the same amount of money, I could have stayed at a much nicer place where the staff are at least half-way courteous.

First of all I have booked this hotel as a 5 star. It was look like a 3-4 star to me.
Room had loads of scratch on wall very small room not even needed cleaning it needed painting and decorating.
No bath in a 5 star hotel ?? only a small shower.
When I booked on I paid it all. When i checked in they told me its all pre paid and you dont have to pay anything on check out they charged me 20 Euro for tax. This is cheeky and rubbing off. You could suggest that in your website or at least on check-in.

there were 7 of us with booking of 3 rooms. We came in a large van and many bags. On arrival, we wanted to help the porters sort out the bags so that they can deliver the bags to the respective rooms. We were rudely told off. The porters just put all the bags together and guess what, 2 of the bags were sent to a room that was not even any of ours. We had to searched for the bags.
My room was supposed to be upgraded to a suit and I used 2 of my upgrade credits. When I went to my room, I thought it was a regular room. I asked the front desk and was told all rooms are suites. I checked out the other 2 rooms and the room that was for 1 night rm 930 was a suite. I believe the front desk simply decided to give the suite for the 1 night stay. I decided not to take action as it would possibly ended up with us having to change rooms and embarass my friend and his wife. What an attitude!!! The least Starwood can do is to refund my 2 upgrade nights. I am thinking of dropping Starwood for other group and give up my platinum status.

The front desk reception was one of the worst that I have received at an equivalent category SPG property. These included lack of friendliness of the staff, the acknowledgement of the lifetime platinum status, etc. They immediately wanted to charge me extra, even though they had not available a requested suite. Their lack of civility and helpfulness was most noticeable. I can continue identifying its shortcomings, but that would be futile.

Second visit, second failure. Wouldn't go back. Staff sucks, rude, unhelpful. Not worthy of the Starwood name. Checkin takes forever. Internet doesnt work. Nothning good to say. THe only place they overdelivered was on price!

On arrival to the reception there was a problem with the card I was paying with. Staff attitude wasn't what I would expect in the 5 star hotel. After 20min and couple of phone calls I managed to establish that the hotel was entering the wrong details and that is what was causing the issue, I did receive an apology but this should have been dealt with in a different way.
The room I was given was beyond belief. Due to the state of the carpet I was not able to take my shoes off and the arm chair was so dirty I wouldn't even put my clothes on it, yet alone rest on it. I understand the room was in need of a refreshment but that does not stop the hotel from keeping it clean. There were marks on the wall all over the room, stains on the curtains, carpets etc. I found a rubbish bag behind the armchair. In addition the design of the bathroom was not thought through at all. There was no enough space to get to the toilet due to a massive sink in the way, so you had to be at an angle to be able to use it.
Overall very disappointing experience with the prices at the 5 star level only. Luckily there are other SPG hotels in Milan and I will definitely be using them.

This hotel is seriously awful. If you are not on a renovated floor forget staying here. I had to move twice to get to an acceptable room. Carpets, floors, upholstry,walls all very dirty so much so I took pictures. The rates are outrageous, the staff while nice enough are not effective when trying to get things done. A large group of people from our company had similar experiences. Twin bed in one room, missing shower head in another.
