Rated 5 out of 5 by SBR68 Nice hotel - great location!
We stayed just one night at the Milan Palace hotel, but it was quite nice. We received a complimentary room upgrade (through SPG preferred status, I assume) and the Deluxe room had a lovely view. The room was beautifully decorated and quite spacious - the bed was heavenly, as usual.
The hotel is within comfortable walking distance of the Duomo, shopping district, La Scala Opera House, and the Giardini Pubblici. It's also just a short ride to the train station and Linate Airport.

we ( my wife and i ) stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, had great, relaxing time.
everything was wonderful.
the room were clean all the time, the size of the room is comfortable and the hotel is calm.
the staff were so friendly and met all the demands were made by us.
the location is 10-15 min walking distance to the dumo and it has a Metro in front of the hotel.
the only thing that i did not like is that you have to pay for using the internet as most of the hotels in Europe !!!!!!

Good hotel I would go back to but not without looking for other options first. Close to train station. Upgraded to really nice room. Food in restaurant is decent but very expensive..I had to eat there because of torrential downpour one evening.

Rated 4 out of 5 by supatight80 4 Stars for now...
I will only rate this hotel as 4 stars for now as I was burning 7 suite night awards during this trip (didn't need them in the past as was getting compli. ugrades anyhow)
Anyways, on my next stay, if I got a complimentary upgrade to suite w/out using my suite night awards, then will be rating this property 5 stars.
I like the rooms. However, the thermostat had a mind of its own as it was soooo old! Quite warm the whole night. Also, as others have mentioned, room service is VERY expensive. example 26 euros for a burger + 7 euros delivery fee. Ouch!
But the best part was that it was close to Via Monte Napoleone...Great Shopping!

Good size, very comfortable room. It's converted from very old building, but still in superb condition. Wifi equipped room but spotty. Reception staff is helpful, speedy check in and out. However, the same cant be said about the concierge/doorman who were helpful on arrival but just stood around while my wife struggled with our luggage when we checked out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cavriaghi Wonderful hotel but a little inconsistent
A wonderful hotel with a beautiful lobby and very nice rooms, but a few things just a bit off. The staff is friendly and often outstanding; for example I met the water bottle man in the hall way and he was great, encouraging me to drink lots of water for my health. Yet wifi was only so so (dying once and dropping skype calls a few times) and turn down service missed a night.
I will be back and like the hotel very much but the inconsistencies keep it from being great.

Quality is perception of the client, there are more nice hotels, what makes the difference here is the staff friendliness, much better than other Milan hotels. Well done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nikita Truly Palace interiors
Excellent: interiors, mango smoothie at breakfast and breakfast itself
Good: location, value for money, upgrade for Platinums
Not so good: plumbing, bed (two joined beds instead of one), no club lounge
Bad: very dusty room (hotel needs to buy vacuum cleaners for housekeeping), room cleaning is unacceptable (when first I came to room - I noticed candy under the table, after five days it was still there), I did call reception to ask for free bottled water as Platinum amenity, man put me on hold and then just hanged up after few minutes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SHE81 Nice Hotel!
Just returned from the Westin Palace Milan
Requested a renovated room (renovated a month agao) and they honored my request
We were nicely greeted by the dorrman and the reception / check in went smoothly
Room was nicely decorated and average room size
Bathroom was small only one sink, shower and tub together
We received a room on 4th floor.I think rooms on top are more ornate but not as new and clean
I was not upgraded as a Gold member (though I didn't ask to be)
Lobby is spacious and pretty
Wifi works pretty well
Housekeeping was good except the last night they did not do turn down service which was annoying( It was one of the nights I didn't call to remind them, though I should not have to)
I also could have used more water in room
The concierges were VERY professional and very nice which was extremely helpful
Thank you to Antonio, Giovanni and Luca!
The hotel is very well located in the Republica area with a train station across the street and the central train station very lose by
The gym at the hotel is well equipped
I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is very very nice. The only small negative points are the facts that rooms on the side of the street are very noisy and that the food from the room service is too expensive compared to what it is.

Nice hotel, good location, but a bit overpriced for what it is. And I really don't appreciate the places where they make you pay for ironing your clothes instead of providing the iron!

this is the second year in a row that we stayed at the Westin Palace and nothing has changed. A very nice hotel, good location with easy access to many attractions.
WiFi service could be improved and still no coffee in your room. Hope to be back again soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Metcalfe82 Beautiful Hotel, breafast let-down
I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. The reception staff were friendly & helpful, the communal areas were striking (a central table with white candles & white orchids) & I really loved my room (263) It was elegant, spacious & comfortable . The only aspect that let my visit down was the shambles of a business breakfast. The man on the door of the dining room was rude, we waited a long time to order, a long time for our food & then one of the dishes was wrong. We then waited a long time for the correct one. A disappointing end to an otherwise excellent stay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FanofJohan Stylish but Cheap!
This hotel is all you would expect of a great European Hotel, with attentive service (Johan is a legend) and grand decor.
However like other European hotels they insist on being cheap and having expensive Wi-Fi and really annoyingly provide no in-room or on-site ironing facilities so you have to pay and wait for expensive "services". Luckily we were on holidays but if I was travelling on business I would re-think.

I travel regularly for business to Milano. My first choice is always The Westin Palace. I have always gotten an upgrade to a suite. Unlike other properties all the rooms have flat screen TV's. Spacious bathrooms, beautifully appointed rooms. The staff is always great-- special props to Francesca who always greets me by name.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MB060953 Uncomfortable in Milan
Although the staff seemed friendly, and were at times attempting to accommodative, it seems incompetence ruled the days. When I inquired as to why the room would not drop below 25 degrees they
sent maintenance and he un screwed and moved things around and said it was fixed...still no air conditioning and the windows only opened a few cm's, so very uncomfortable. At checkout i asked and they said they had tirned off the a/c because the weather was cool...obviouslynthey forgot to tell maintenance...what d gou expect for 400 euro's per night. When my wife and friend were attempting to get taxi for an excursion, the bell man ignored them until they finally took matters into their own hand and walked down the street to find one on their own. The concierge was only slightly more helpful, although very energetic, refused to give us the type restaurants we wanted, local food. Thank goodness for the bar staff who were extremely nice and helpful. I will watch weather before booing this hotel, location was good for business, people treated us poorly.

Rated 3 out of 5 Redecoration required
ALthough the style and atmosphere of the hotel is fine, it might deservea complete refurbishment to bring it into the 21st century.
The service is good but overpriced.
Having to pay €39 for a cup of coffee, a bowl of cornflakes and a boiled egg is over the top.

Rated 3 out of 5 by senoritalucia Nice hotel, not 5* service
The hotel is very grand looking inside and our room was lovely, however we were told by the reservations team before we arrived, that we would be getting an upgrade as our stay was for a special occasion and that this would be added onto our reservation. When we checked in I had to ask about this as it wasn't mentioned and was told if we were to be upgraded we would have to pay. I showed the emails which did not state anything about an additional fee, but the staff did nothing to sort this out and just said the reservations team were wrong. I was very disappointed as we should never have been told we would be upgraded if it was never going to happen. I was also disappointed by the service upon arrival. Usually in 5* hotels, there are doormen ready to greet you and take your bags but they were just standing around. Our room wasn't ready so we had to go and ask someone to look after our bags for us and nobody understood (we were given other people's bags etc.) so this took a long time. When we returned, nobody escorted us and our bags up to our rooms either. There were a few problems with the room for example a shelf which just collapsed causing the glasses on it to smash and ants in the bathroom which wasn't very nice on our last morning. Upon checking out we weren't asked how our stay was or if there were any problems so I had to mention it myself to which I did eventually get an apology. The hotel was nice overall and the location was great, but I just didn't feel like anybody really cared that we were staying there. Most 5* hotels pride themselves on making their guests feel special but I didn't feel this was the case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Khanna Should learn the hospitality first
Hotel staff should be trained on hospitality & client service, they should know what kind of guest hotel is catering & servicing & how they can care to hold relationship with hotel. Staff was not at all freindly, being in this line they must learn the smiling faces, & best of service & client gesture. Rudely behaiviour of yoiur staff forced us to not choose this hotel chain for any furture stay of ours.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Todd Westin Milano below the SPG standards
This was my first stay at the Westin and will be my last. I made my reservation on line for two and when I arrived the confrimation was only made for one. Not a big deal, however I specifically ordered the breakfast for two when I made the reservation and now I was being told by Francesca I would have to pay an additional 69 euros for my wife to stay. Once we arrived in our room, we knew right away we were being overcharged for this hotel. I went back to the front desk and descirbed my room, which was dirty, missing pictures on the wall and the door to the refrigerator was missing. I did receive a new room which was better. However the next morning when I was taking a shower the water pressure was so poor you had to stand directly under the shower head for the water to fall on you. The only thing I recommend about this hotel is the breakfast....out of this world.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PSLim Need to improve staff hospitality
I was not very convinced to stay in this hotel for many poor review from other platinum members.
Room was ok for the upgrade; however staff friendliness and hospitality really need a lot of improvement.
it was about 50-50 rate; some staffs were great but many were not at all or almost rude.
I was helped by very kind lady at concierge whom I gave her a thank you card; but also was so mad by a concierge guy who didn't give any help at all; even a bit rude in manner. I hope Mr. Brunetti will take some corrective action into this.

I had a comfortable if unmemorable stay here. Doormen and concierge were good, front desk effective if a little unfriendly. same goes for the bar staff. My upgraded room was enormous and even had a turkish bath in it ( it did not work). Choice of TV Channels was good, but like all Starwood hotels the wifi was expensive. Come on Starwood- some of your competitors are already giving in room wifi free as standard

Rated 3 out of 5 by David1959 Misleading Promotion
Hotel is large and wll appointed if lacking in public spaces (1 Restaurant, 1 Lobby Bar). I booked a prepaid promotion for an upgraded room with 50 euro per day hotel credit - sounded great. Plus as SPG expected an additional upgrrade. At check-in I had to bring to their attention the promotion - this seemed troubling and made the check-in process very lengthy as they clicked away on keyboard for several mintues. Was told I was upgraded to "Grand" King, but room was interior room looking into light shaft. I asked for another room, a different front desk staff member escorted me and asked if the room (415) was acceptable. At first glance is seemed very nice. It was not until going to bed that I realized the bed was on a wall shared with elevator shaft - and listened to elevator all night, as the prospect of re-packing and moving seem more frustrating then tryint to sleep. Hotel staff know perfectly well that this room and headboard are located directly next to an elevator and should advise if this would be an issue. They seem reluctant to provide anything but the lowest class of room based on the price I paid vs. the promotion language - misleading at best. Bar and restaiurant staff were friendly and professional. No doorman visable throughout stay to help with taxi, etc.... At check-out I had to remind them of promotin and have bill adjujsted to reflect the daily credit. I enjoyed my stay in Milan, but certainly did not feel valued as a customer and/or SPG Gold member.
