Rated 5 out of 5 by Kids Activities! Our family stayed at the Westin La Paloma this spring for a work trip and we spent a lot of time at the pool with our daughter who was just learning to swim. The Kids Club staff that ran the games and other activities during the day did an excellent job of accommodating our "beginner swimmer" so she didn't get lost in the shuffle. Special mention should be made about the level of service from Erik at the kids club who went so far as to send our daughter goggles so she could get more out of the games and offered tips on getting her comfortable putting her head underwater. Top class service all the way around at this facility for this stay and we will be sure to return and speak highly of it. May 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Property I travel and stay at highend hotels frequently and of those I frequent, this is among my favorite. Many thanks to the staff and management that made my stay enjoyable. May 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 Happy Hour - Margarita For some reason the bar's Margarita was not on the Happy Hour list. Server didn't mention this. For $12, it was the worst one I have ever had! When I mentioned it to the server and at check out, it feel on deaf ears. May 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our stay at the Westin The hotel was great as usual. The breakfast was very slow. We were at the restaurant for 60 minutes before being served. That was not up to Westin standards. The fitness center was great as always May 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by good...but.... single ply toilet tissue in this hotel? really?? Talking to the people at the pool was frustrating when they cant understand you. And WHY do they have construction going on non stop at the pool on a friday and saturday during graduation weekend? Very frustrating. May 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Beds are not comfortable. The "heavenly bed" was not heavenly. We were not too happy with the bed. It was as if we were laying on the floor. Around 2 a.m. we decided to lay on top of the comforter to get some badly needed sleep. The comforter help a little to soften the bed. Also!! there was so much noise and commotion in room 216 (next door) the door was being slammed over and over again between the hrs. of 9 pm and 10:45 p.m. I looked outside the door and found out the the maid was making all that noise. She did not speak English, so I spoke with her in Spanish and she only said that she was told to get that room done immediately. Fine, however, she did not have to make so much noise. We ate dinner and we weren't too impressed with it. The halibut was somewhat dry and too salty and my husband had the pork chop which was so,so ( not enough gravy). This was out 43 anniversary (made it clear to all who I spoke with before arriving) and not once did anyone acknowledge by saying "happy anniversary" to us. May 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by What a fantasic view! I had a great time during my stay. The lobby was very inviting, the front desk staff was always gracious and smiling, the banquet staff was exceptional! William, one of the banquet staff was so unbelievably kind!! The room and view was great! However, we stopped in for a quick Happy Hour at Azul, and that was anything but quick. Our waitress disappeared for a long time. This was on Monday evening around 7pm. We had originally planned to leave the resort and head to North for dinner.... but that didn't work, with as long as it took to close our tab. We were then directed to the Country Club for patio seating, walked all the way over there, to find out it was closed. Walked back to eat at Azul. Overall, we had a great experience, it was just very awkward that night and I will not rate all the other staff based off of one member. Every other staff member was too way kind! May 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Under renovations but beautifully underway Don't let the renovations hold you back, it's mostly done and the pool patio work is only slightly noisy, no one seemed to mind. Hope they add a lot more umbrellas for the hot summer that seems to have arrived our last day there. Everyone was hunting for shade. Lovely rooms in building C facing a bit of mountains and golf course. Building F where we were first booked was a no go with a busy road not far off our deck, but the nicely accommodated us in a another room in C. Staff was super friendly, but if you sign up for the green "no house keeping" it's really NO housekeeping. Fine for a day or 2 but then trash overflow, no coffee, towels, amenities running dry, etc, rather catch up and we switched back to service. Yummy food at the pool bar! Nice breakfast. April 30, 2013
