This hotel is located right across the street from the convention center and walking distance to many fine restaurants. I do believe $18 per day for parking is a little excessive since you are already paying for the stay and LB occupancy tax. It adds up. The walls are paper thin. There was construction going on one block to the east and the pounding could be heard in the room. I could hear the next room phone ring and the conversation. It can be annoying when you are trying to sleep. The bathroom has no vent so the room gets really hot and steamy after a shower. Other than that, the staff was fabulous, the area is safe, the beds are really comfortable. I would stay there again depending on the cost. I got a reduced rate for an event I attended but I wouldn't pay the over $200 a night they wanted to charge to stay another night. Westins are usually fantastic, I think the construction of the hotel went a little on the cheap side with the thin walls.

only problem I encountered was the refrigerator in my room was not working, but other than that all was good. Great housekeeping staff

Westin of Long Beach is our home away from home. The check in staff are all very friendly and professional. We always felt very welcome by the doormen and valet staff. Housekeeping were very courteous, friendly and thorough.
we always look forward to staying at Westin Long beach whenever we are in town.

We asked to switch rooms after our first night, as we found that the shower was backed up. Further, the sheets were torn and old. When we went to the front desk to pick up our new keys, the receptionist demanded to know WHY we were changing rooms. She was unprofessional and rude.
We moved rooms and found that the new room also had a backed up shower.
I talked to the manager and he seemed to want to help, but didn't do a thing to make things right. I left knowing I would not return.
I expected much more from a Westin and was sorely disappointed.

Room air conditioning did not work adequately. We set it as low as 60 and yet room was very warm, at least 75, even at night. We called engineering and although they responded there was little improvement. The room was quiet. Housekeeping was very inadequate.

I love the location where this hotel is located. It's close to some of the waterfront attractions, and close enough to some of the eateries along Pine Ave...yet far from the noise.
My only peeve with this hotel is paying addiitonal for wifi...both in the room and additional for the business center. So beware that even after accepting wifi charges in the room, the business center is ADDITIONAL to the room's wifi charges.
In speaking with the hotel, they say it's a 3rd party vendor. I get that...but for the price of this hotel...seriously...one would think that wifi charges would be inclusive.

The hotel is quite attractive, rooms are adequate albeit not spectacular for the price. They are scheduled for renovation/remodeling which will hopefully improve the halls, doors and carpets. My main gripe is all the extras. Internet access is $9.95/day, self-parking is $17.95, no complimentary breakfast (buffet breakfast is $19 and is just OK), no turn down service. For $220/night, I expected more. Even from 16th floor there was almost no view of the water. The bar/grill was sparsely staffed. These days even cheaper hotels offer free Internet and a free Continental breakfast. Luxury price without the luxury touches.
