My only problem was that I ordered a burger from room service (burger tasted of nothing). I must have dropped a French fry because two days later I found it on the floor.

Overall, I thought the hotel was very nice and very convenient. The building looks grand, the lobby is attractive, the rooms are reasonably sized, clean, and comfortable. I only stayed for one night and the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the service. It wasn't bad, but I felt like they really didn't care to make me feel comfortable. I don't even blame the staff that I interacted with specifically. Being in the service industry myself, the only thing I can think of is that the management is not particularly flexible, which discourages the employees to even attempt to be helpful beyond what is required. I found it irritating that in addition to the expense of staying at such a nice hotel I had to pay extra to park my car. This seems very unnecessary. At least roll it into the room price so I don't notice. In addition, since I booked online with short notice, I was not given a bed option, so when I arrived and my girlfriend and I were being sent to a room with 2 full-sized beds, I requested a King. The woman just smiled awkwardly and said that they were already reserved and moved on with check-in. We arrived at 12:30, clearly one of the first check-ins of the day, so a little effort would have been appreciated. Other than that, everything was fine. No one was particularly friendly or helpful, but I guess I didn't pay to see them.

I had no internet service in my room despite spending 45 minutes with a tech person on the phone. Additionally the TV was broken. The phone on the desk was broken. The bathtub had a clogged drain which resulted in me showering in 12 inches of water. My experience was less than desirable.

I had been to Westin Resort in Palm Springs and picked this Westin according to my wonderful experience there. The walls are thin and every toilet flush of neighbors will wake you up. They have a tiny pool with less than average view. The Jacuzzi was not clean and even though the sign said no one under 16, kids would jump in from pool to pee in it (it really looked like it!) Our check out was at 3 pm but at 12 when we returned from pool, the room keys were not working... so, I will go back to Westin Resort again but not to this one.

Go every year and it's beautiful. Christmas tree was up this year thanks!! It's just beautifully decorated. Rooms immaculate. View is stunning of ocean. Staff friendly, housekeeping always quickly accommodates me with the extras I need, sugar, shower caps, etc. food is good, service great. I love it here! 5 star quality.

I enjoyed a perfectly lovely stay at the Long Beach Westin while attending a conference February 2014. From the front desk staff to the catering staff during the conference, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The accommodations were very comfortable, and I was happy to discover the hotel was located in the midst of some great dining options.

I am a frequent visitor of Long Beach from Las Vegas. My daughter and niece decided to do a girls jaunt and chose the Westin Hotel. We love that the outside personnel opens the door for you as you approach and are very helpful. Self parking was a breeze and didn't gouge use. The check in was extremely easy and pleasant. Overall it was a great experience. The only smaller things was that the room smelled strongly of some type of wood preserve spray and the ice machine on our floor (10th) never ever worked. We always had to call services for ice and I must admit, it was delivered quickly. Some other good poitns are the great gym area near the pool. Additionally, there is a feature wherein if you forgot your workout clothing and shoes, you can rent them for $5.00 from the hotel. That is excellent! It was a great stay, and we will definitely stay again.

The Hotel staff and facilities were fine - but there were some teenage guests on my floor that thought it was fine to have a party and be loud and slam doors until 3 in the morning. I called security once and they came up - the kids were quiet - for about 30 minutes and then started up again. I know I'm not the only one complaining as I was told others had at checkout. Not a relaxing stay - but nice facility

I was disappointed with the function of the hotel. From our arrival after 6 p.m., there was not enough staff at the front desk, asked for shower cap & coffee, waited almost an hour to have it arrive, because apparently they sent it up to the WRONG room. Our coffee machine in room was not functioning properly, (had to turn it on 3x to fill up cup. It shut off after 1/3 full. The staff seemed untrained, unprofessional, un-4 star hotel worthy. I've traveled plenty to know that this is definitely not the type of hotel I expect the Westin brand name and location. I've gone to many events at this hotel and loved the events attended, therefore assuming that the rooms/service of hotel was equivalent to that. It failed every expectation I had for this hotel.

I love every Starwood hotel/resort I have stayed in, but the Westin Long Beach was completely unsatisfactory. From the staff, food service, and valet to the outdated and overpriced rooms. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

I never had a problem with this hotel before, but now I'll never stay in the city again with these ridiculous parking prices. What do the city except a person to do book a room and park your car out side of the city limited. I'll stay out side of the city next time I come or organize a group convention .plus be careful of room service, they put extra tips on your bill if not aware. rate are good until the crazy city taxes hit in.

Arrived on a busy 14th of February afternoon. Check-in took approximately 10 minutes, as there was no separate line for Gold/Platinum members and one just long line. No fault of the desk staff as all 5 position we're staffed and being checked in, however the poor design of the lobby didn't seem to allow a separate line for Gold/Platinum members.
No initial issues upon entering the room, however as I went to put something in the drawer I noticed it was filled with what to be trash, but ended up being checks to various people and some sort of bottled fluid to commit check fraud. Reported to staff the next morning with no apology but only a we'll take a look into it. How about a sorry the room wasn't cleaned to standard? The bath drain was having issues, as I took a bath in the evening and it was slow to drain, and you could tell that the previous person had issues as the drain cap was unscrewed from the tub in the hopes of the tub draining faster.
Unfortunately, the walls in the room were paper thin and from 1130pm-130am you could hear every word of the conversation going on in the room next door, not to mention every person opening a door and walking down the hall, but even more you could hear all the conversations going on outside 6 floors down on a lower balcony. It's as if I was attempting to sleep in an open space with people constantly around. It's probably one of the worst night's sleep I've had in a a hotel in decades. You know it's not a good night when you hit the bed around 10 and you remember the next morning seeing the clock at 1135, 1228, 130, 215, 530...It was a restless night that was anything but heavenly.
The only upside we're the great guys at the valet that had the car up front and ready to go and we're great upon arrival. Unfortunately besides them it was a downhill slide...

Everything about this hotel is nice on the surface. However, I had two major issues with this hotel. 1) They charge $16/night if you want to have WI-FI in your room. For the amount I paid for the room, that is utterly RIDICULUS!!! 2) I question how well this hotel is really maintained, because I was STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR FOR 45 MINUTES. Yes the elevator stopped working between the 14 and 15 floors. They eventually had to pry open the doors and I jumped 4 ft down.

When we arrived everyone was so helpful. The hotel was beautiful and the front desk associates was also great and answered all our questions and were very friendly. The restaurant/bar were also great. We really enjoyed our stay.

Everything about my stay was excellent, and the staff was outstanding. The customer really does come first at the Westin. One silly example (but worth noting); I love coffee, and at the end of my breakfast I happen to mention to my wiater that I was going to a looong meeting and he asked me if I wanted a coffee to go....no charge; he just did ti. A samll gesture but a BIG thanksf from me!!

We would suggest more help in the restaurant...long wait for food and the wait people take the flack for this
when it is not their fault. Several in our party ordered the clam and shrimp dish...most of the clams were empty. The waiter compensated with a comp glass of wine. Feel they should have comped these folks dinners. The floor of the tub is extremely slippery...hope you do not have a slip and fall incident. Otherwise the hotel was very clean and comfortable and the service people very accommodating and pleasant.

I really like Westin hotels, and I was excited when I was able to book one for my work trip. While the hotel and room were great, I had a lot of problems with two amenities: 1) the green/housekeeping initiative and 2) the internet policy. With the green initiative, I was told upon check-in about the option to opt out of housekeeping in exchange for a $5 voucher or 500 Starpoints. I was told I just needed to leave the hanger on my door. However, my room did not have a hanger, so I was unable to participate. On the afternoon before departure, which was a Thursday, I stopped housekeeping in the hallway and told them not to clean my room in exchange for a $5 voucher, thinking I could use it for breakfast the next morning. The woman was very nice and informed me the front desk would provide me a voucher. However, I never received one; instead, the next morning (Friday), I received a note stating that since Friday was my last day, I would not be eligible for the voucher. When I went to the front desk to ask for clarification, they seemed confused about how the program works. They told us that you can't receive vouchers on the first and last days of your stay, which makes sense, but since I didn't get my room cleaned on the Thursday, I should have received a voucher. They told me they give out the vouchers in the morning and that I should have receive one; however, I didn't have a door tag to put up and thus had to contact the housekeeper. The woman understood and gave me 500 Starpoints, but I was not impressed with the staff's understanding of the program and the fact that it was not at all explained to me in that detail when I first checked in. I would recommend that staff be better briefed on the details of the program so that they can explain them to guests. Secondly, I had a lot of problems with the internet. I repeatedly had to go through the charge screen whenever I turned my iPad and laptop on, even though I had already authorized the charge for the 24 hour period. Furthermore, I was double-charged for internet on the Tuesday of my stay, even though I had called the front desk to alert them that I was being asked to authorize payment again. They told me this was normal and that I would NOT be charged, yet it showed up on my bill. While I really enjoy the hotel itself, these issues are a real hassle, especially when on business and the need for efficiency and reliable internet is important.

From the minute we walked in to the time we left, it was so incredible... The staff at the long beach Westin are so nice and on top of everything ! The food was great and the bed was so comfertable ! We also had an amazing view of the ocean... I will defiantly stay any chance I can!
