Rated 3 out of 5 by it was all great till the end.. We stayed at the hotel this passed weekend. We had a great time visiting the pool and the Bonaventure Brewery. Everything was great until we checked out and got our car from valet. We checked out from the hotel at 11:40. After we checked out we walked directly to valet to grab our car. We waited over an hour for our car. We did not leave the valet area until 12:55 once we got on to flower street, the exit of the parking structure. The cost for parking is $38. and for the service valet gives it is not worth it. I spoke with the valet manager after waiting for 45 minutes and he said 20 minutes more. Several people left before us after we got there before them. We ended up leaving the hotel with a sour taste. I had never waited over an hour for a car in valet. Not even in Vegas after new years day. August 15, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Valet disaster Started off great, I sent an email with a special request before my visit and received a prompt reply that they could accommodate me. While I had an excellent night at the Hotel, it was ruined by the fact that it took well over 90 MINUTES for the Valet service to retrieve my car after check out. That is something I have never even heard of. How is it possible that a well reputed and famous hotel such as the Westin Bonaventure not be equipped to handle a regular Sunday (not even a Holiday weekend) checkout traffic? Even worse, after waiting 90 minutes along with scores of others, 1 couple showed and almost instantly received their car like everything was normal. That was the last straw. As a proud Starwood member I am not used to this level of frustration and disappointment from any of the hotels I have stayed at since I joined in 2003. August 15, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good stay in LA It is well located, needs some renovation August 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Post-renovation and it's great. And round! The Bonaventure has recently been renovated and this has really helped with the facilities: it looks sharp and not at all dated, which is a great upgrade and makes this a great choice for downtown hotels. I joke about it being round but there's a good thing about round hotels: the rooms, because they are wedge-shaped, often have a bit more floor space than in a regular rectangular room. Rated 5 out of 5 by AMAZING HOTEL I teach at a university in Mexico UNIVA, my stay was for 5 days, is an amazing hotel, its rooms, staff very friendly, the location is perfect, I recommend it 100 percent, is the best hotel in the financial center August 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by great experience so far Great location in downtown LA, the hotel is in an older building but all the rooms have been updated. Stayed in the tower suite which is pretty roomy and provided much needed space for me (have been on the road for months). There are many dinning options within the hotel and nearby. All the staff I have met are very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely come and stay again. August 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Was just about the nicest Hotel stay ever I don't travel much. However, this stay must have been my finest stay anywhere at any time. The staff was fantastic. August 13, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by What a let down! I had high expectations for this particular hotel given it's reputation. My daughter and I were in the area from overseas to do college tours and vacation. We got in late and were very tired and just wanted to get some rest. We had to wait about 30 minutes in line to check in, another 45 minutes in our room for our baggage to arrive and finally got some sleep sometime after midnight. We awoke early to use the pool before breakfast, but it was closed for maintenance. We ate at the hotel restaurant and had their sunrise breakfast which was overpriced and not very good. At least the check out was fast and the valet service brought our car within 15 minutes. Overall we were very disappointed in what should have been a really nice stay and experience, especially at the price paid and extra cost for each service (valet, baggage delivery, tips etc.) August 11, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by The staff needs improvement The staff at the Bonaventure was very rude to my friend and I. I did not appreciate the level of service I received from them as a Starwood Preferred Guest. I will not return to this hotel again. August 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost confortable Bedclothes, towels, all stuff is very clean. Bathrobe is really comfortable and made me feel luxury. Several inconvenience were, - Wireless network access suddenly become very slow and I could not enjoy Internet, even I paid $12 for Internet access. - There are no power plug on the desk. - It was soaked in the refrigerator. Change the tray. August 10, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hotel staff are unsuitable for hospitality Industrny had reservation from Jul 29,12 to Aug 4,12. Presented ourselves at check in reception at 12.30 PM when Credit card scanned etc -- room keys given to us only at 5.30 PM. I was due for a meeting at 4PM which I had to attend in street clothing,as I had no access to a room to change. Couple of attempts to get our reserved room met with abrasive retorts, combative comments from counter clerks. Middle of the night we woke to loud bangs on the door - checking if some other guest's luggage has been to our room. Rooms do not get cleaned till very late afternoon. Couple days we had to make our own bed. We were expected to share one bag of tea between two of us. All these we could handle with smile but not the treatment we were subjected to by the supervisor in front of Cal Ballroom temp Check-in. Every year for last 17 yrs we have been going to this hotel ,but never again. August 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff! Without exception, every single member of your staff that I interacted with exceeded my expectations in terms of helpfulness, courtesy and promptness of response. Good job! August 7, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent since my first stay in the '80s Ever comfortable, cozy, friendly. The best image of Los Angeles. August 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wonderful hotel My daughter and I stayed only one night and the Westin Bonaventure delivered an amazing stay except for one person:the man who originally checked us in. He was indifferent and not helpful. I had to go back to registration for my breakfast vouchers and other information which was provided by an extrememly helpful Ricardo. Everyone, except for the first person at registration, was friendly, helpful, kind and seemed to enjoy their work. We did valet parking and they were efficient and extremely pleasant. We also asked the concierge for directions and she was most helpful. We also went to the lounge on the 34th floor where the view is unsurpassed as it rotates 360 degrees. We ordered drinks and a snack and everything was perfect. Service was impeccable and friendly and both drinks and food were excellent. We did the breakfast buffet which was a delight. It had everything you might want and the presentation was lovely and the food yummy!! Our room was CLEAN and most comfy with the heavenly beds. When my daughter and I travel, we tend to stay at Westins because of the beds and their reputation; my duaghter has a bad back and she always sleeps beautifully on their beds. Our stay was deleightful and we will return to the Bonaventure to do more sightseeing in downtown Los Angeles which we rarely do. August 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel, Small Rooms Wonderful hotel, Cool design with colour zoned accommodation, Room slightly small for a Westin Property. Could not do yoga in the room as it was too tiny. August 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by SRF Convocation This hotel is perfectly suited for the above event. The dining facilities and the meeting rooms always meet the expectations. The bedrooms are very comfortable, and the hotel staff are very accomadating !!!!!! August 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Choice for Downtown LA Stay I have just completed two week-long stays in downtown LA at the Westin Bonaventure. I needed to be downtown for business, and the Westin Bonaventure ended up being a great choice. The Bonaventure is an iconic hotel, featured in many movies, built in the 70's (I think) with five separate cylinders connected with elevator corridors and a central atrium. That architecture could be considered dated, but it is also fairly cool and I think the renovations that have been done keep the space interesting and attractive. And riding the elevators is pretty cool. (When there is heavy use of the hotel's convention facilities the Blue and Green elevators are faster than the Red and Yellow ones) I found the staff universally friendly and service-oriented, especially considering it's a pretty big convention-oriented hotel. Employees were always friendly and offering to help - it's clear that management has created a good culture that values good service. As an SPG Platinum we got an upgrade to the Tower King suite, which is really a great room type. It's got a separate bedroom with sliding door and a living room with sleeper sofa and desk and mini fridge and bathroom. That can work for a family with kids on the sleeper sofa, or a couple where one gets up to work or have meetings while the other may still sleep or lounge in the bedroom. The Heavenly Bed was great and the room featured updated furniture and decoration. It felt like a current room in an iconic hotel The SPG breakfast benefit is in the main restaurant. What's included is the cold food from the buffet - roughly what you'd normally find in a lounge. There is an upgrade to a full hot breakfast for $7.50. That includes made-to-order omelettes as well as the normal eggs and bacon and sausage and eggs benedict and some Japanese selections. Parking is pricey at around $40, but there is free street parking between 8am and 8pm across the street on Flower Street and some other nearby streets if you can be out by 8am or feed the meter. In addition to the hotel restaurants, there are many independent restaurants on the 4th floor, including ethnic restaurants and a brewpub. There also many other choices within a block or two, including Border Grill, Johnny Rockets, Chaya, and many more. In general LA's downtown is walkable, and many destinations are within a 15-minute walk, and there are also several DASH routes that circulate through downtown. So if you have business downtown you can stay here carlessly. It's only about $16 to take SuperShuttle from the airport, so if you are doing business downtown it is possible to be carless, especailly given restaurant choices in the building and nearby. The ride to the airport is pretty efficient via the 110 and 105 freeways. It's also near the Metro Red Line, Blue Line and new Expo Line. On the whole I was pleasantly surprised by what a great experience we had at the Bonaventure - from the updated rooms and friendly service to the food options nearby and ease of getting around downtown. Rated 4 out of 5 by Small but comfortable I expecteed a larger room, one that had a bathroom door that copilud be opened with the closet door also open. The bed was very comfortable, pleased to fine the pillows not made from some synthetic fabric but more like feathers. The staff friendly and helpful, except the door man at the Flower entrance who was rude and sarecastic when asked for directions. August 1, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great since remodel! I have stayed at this Westin a number of times. I was not always impressed in the past but since they have completed the remodel I will make this my regular LA hotel again. Beautiful property in a great downtown location. The rooms are small but very comfortable. Many restaurant options on property and close by. The staff was very friendly and accommodation. July 31, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Westin Stay My overall experience with Westin Hotels has been excellent. The exception is this last stay. i stayed for 9 nights and I had to contantly request a card key. I received a voice mail that I would be checked-out after my first day. Did not receive any communication after that message. Next message received a maintaince notice about hotwater not being available after 4 nights at the hotel. Receive another notice to update my reservation at the front desk the 6th day. The sad part was I have stayed in this hotel before and was exceptionally treated well. Although it was several years ago. i guest management and staff has changed. July 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel I love this hotel. I'm looking forward to my next visit to LA and I will be staying at The Westin. July 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Los Angeles July 24 Nice Property and great location July 29, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice hotel but... The room was OK, the view was incredible. The room shook when the elevators went up and down between floors. As a Gold member, with SPG and other hotel chains, I am used to having access to a concierge level or executive level. This level would provide free continental breakfast (in the morning) and a relaxing place for drinks and hors d'oeuvres (in the evening) for the chain's frequent stay members. This was not available at this location. I enjoy working out in the morning and getting a cup of coffee or two at the lounge. The coffee provided in the room is terrible and should not be considered coffee. I would recommend the workout area. One interesting note, why aren't guests allowed to charge our meals eaten at the restaurants on the fourth and sixth floors to our rooms. What an inconvenience! July 23, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by SMALL ROOMS WE REQUESTED A EARLY CHECKING WE ARRIVED AT 12:00 PM AND HAD TO WAIT TILL 3:00 PM, WE LOST 2 MEETING BECAUSE THAT. THE ROOMS WERE ABOUT 100 SF. I AM 6'3" SO MY FEET WERE HANGING OUT OF THE BED I COULD NOT SLEEP, THE BATHROOM DOOR WOULD HIT THE DOOR WAY HALL, AND THE ELEVATOR WAS JUST NEXT TO THE WINDOW OF THE ROOM. July 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Front Desk Staff All staff members were outstanding, and none more so than at the front desk July 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish hotel Very chic hotel with beautiful and relaxing lobby/atrium level with cool water fountains, high ceilings and raised circular central bar area that is very modern. Friendly hotel staff from the front desk to the valet. Historic hotel that has been the setting for many movies. Westin has done it again! July 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Downtown LA Hotel Hotel staff are professional and knowledgeable about area attractions and restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable and have great views of the city. The Compass restaurant at the top of the hotel is excellent! July 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great downtown location and hotel I stayed here with my daughter for a convention. We had quick, efficient, and friendly service the whole time we were there. If I were attending a convention or other event downtown I would definitely return to this property. July 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel We stayed at Westin Bonadventure in downtown LA because we wanted to visit some of the wonderful museums. The hotel was wonderful, the staff was pleasant and the rate was reasonable. We will do this again real soon. July 10, 2012
