Rated 1 out of 5 by very unsatisfactory In most case as SPG platinum member I will have access to a junior suite room and a great service. But NOT from Westin LA airport. Seems like the staff does not know what Platinum member benefits are. Nor does the concierge eager to help with luggage. They just took a glance at me and continue talking to each other. NOBODY gave any offer to take my luggage. AMAZING. And this happened during the first time I walked in to the hotel. Room is OLD and in dire need of remodelling. It is already way overdue. And the lounge is closed on the weekend. Instead, a breakfast is offered only in a counter which served coffee and burito as breakfast. This is SPG platinum benefit ????? This definitely IS the worst of the SPG brands hotel. It is so undeserving to be listed in SPG hotel list. I'm trully dissapointed. February 20, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A little disappointment with The Westin (1) At around 3 PM on my date of arrial, I dealt with a conceirge (a white hair guy) who was not helpful and made me feeling that I was bothering him. At around 11 PM on the same day, - I dealt with another concerige (a young man) who was very helpful and knowledgeable. I think the customer should always feel being welcomed for inquiry is good practice of hospitality in a hotel. (2) I went to swim in the pool around 3 PM on February 18, the bottom of the pool had too much residues and dirty, there was no towel. (3) There is no gym equipment to strengthen leg muscles such as doing leg extension or leg curls. (4) It will be nice if internect connection is free in the room. When lobby and the lounge were full, I couldn't use internet comfortably with my computer in the lobby. (5) It would be nice if there were more TV channels in the room February 20, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by guest assistance? I dialed to reach the customer service in the morning from my room, but no one answered. After dialing 5 times I gave up so I used my celphone to call the hotel's general number. I was finally able to reach the front desk. February 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel always! The courtesy bottles of water were not in my hotel room which I had booked days earlier. I contacted the services desk to request the water. It had not arrived in over an hour, so I called again, this time a female representative took my request. It took still another hour and 1 more phone call to get that to happen. The next morning, I met with a housekeeping person and I requested some coffee. I waited over 3 hours...that never happened. All this is an anomaly as this is the first time that I encountered these issues. February 19, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Billing???? We stayed at the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel through United Airlines our flight was delayed so they put us up at your hotel. During check-in we informed the hotel staff we had two $10.00 meal vouchers we received from United Airlines. They told us we could use them but that the hotel restaurant was closed and that we would need to order from room service. We ordered room service 2ea mini bugers and fries (no drink) cost $15.00 ea X 2= $30.00. Vouchers were given for payment 2ea $10.00=$20.00. $30.00 - $20.00=$10.00 + (automatic) gratuity of $9.98? Total $19.98. Our bill total was $59.96???? The invoice #1000146850 also shows three differant credit cards used???? We only gave them one during check-in, I would like an explaination of this billing practice. This invoice also shows only one guest there were actually two. The address shown for myself on this invoice is also incorrect. I have tried to contact the invoice billing department several times but I have not received a reply, I keep getting the answering machine. February 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Westin Staff While people recognize name brands...I think the one of the most recognize features of Westin are their people. People make the company. I hope Westin treats their people well because THEY are the reasons why I choose to stay at Westin. My last stay, Feb 2013 at Westin LAX, was made special by NOE at the Concierge. However, the Daily Grill's food could do better for the prices that are charged...much better. The fish tacos were terrible. No flavor is the nicest thing to say. The Taco Truck's food around the corner were so much better. February 18, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Lazy, your just another number I had a number of issues with this hotel The hotel shuttle took forever to pick guests up from the airport and drop off at the hotel. When waiting to be picked up most other airport hotel buses had passed four times before the Westin hotel arrived. We waited 35mins for a bus that is meant to come by every 15 mins! We requested a kettle for the room to heat a babies bottle. After needing to request it three times for it to arrive, when it finally came the base had an Australian owner cord base and could not be plugged in anywhere . The executive club lounge is closed on weekends. There were no instructions on how Platinum guests could activate the Internet and I Wasn't told about the complimentary breakfast passes in lieu of the closed lounge until the morning. All round terrible lazy, arrogant Californian customer service. February 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location for us. We arrived at airport late, and were happy to be close to Hotel (via shuttle bus). Staff was great. Workout facilities/pool were nice (sunny day). Would like to have had a fridge to keep leftovers in, instead of pay-for items. Great shower. Room a little musty, but not bad. February 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Stay On February 7 thru 10 I flew to LA for a long weekend with a friend and to visit two of my college classmates. My stay at the Westin was wonderful. The staff that was there when I visited 3 years ago remembered me and they made me feel so welcome. When my classmates came over, they to said," that they felt welcome". The room was comfortable, quite and the food was great. February 12, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Surprisingly quiet near airport The great thing, very quiet hotel. Not so great, late or no wake-up calls, waited for someone to unclog toilet for 40 mins after being told, "They will be right up." Bathroom door doesn't stay open. No fan in bathroom, very moist. When leaving, had to slam from door shut. So noisy. Chose green option, no housekeeping. Asked maid for towels, told she would bring them by later. No towels. Shower head horrible. No water pressure. Took so long to wash my thick hair. February 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by comfortable place to stay Comfortable room. Very nice, comfortable office chair. Some airport noise, but unavoidable this close to the airport. Bed was comfortable with more than enough pillows. But I found the sheets to be very stiff and rather rough, not soft. The gym has nice bikes, ect, but more weight machines would be good. Hotel restaurant is a bit pricy with no other decent choices in walking distance that I could find. The vegetarian options were not great. For example, no tofu or tempeh (for protein) with the vegetables. But some good choices for fish and chicken meals. There is a nice feature of getting a $5 discount on some things, such as the restaurant if you don't have your room cleaned. Good to see they are offering that to help the environment. Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel was very attentive to my needs. The hotel was well prepared for my group of classmates for our super bowl/ bon voyage party. Thank you!!! .... We will be back, we had the best time! February 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by another great stay This is my choice for overnight connections at LAX Always fast checkins and checkout by friendly front desk agents. Nice bar and comfortable rooms. February 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best LAX Airport Hotel The Westin at LAX is a better than average airport hotel. Quiet, great restaurant, good fitness facility, many floors recently refurbished. Everything is great except TV service is spotty, with "no signal" frequently on some channels. And internet service can be slow at times. February 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Starts out great but then... I'm a Westin fan. The rooms are great and their beds are the best. There are a few things though that became tiring. First, you have to pay for internet access. Though you get the lite version as part of the rate it is pretty slow. Then, depending on what area in the hotel you are, you may or may not get access. Different rooms require different sign ins. Then there is the freaky snack tray. If you just pick up an item from the tray, say to read the label ingredients you are automatically charged by a motion sensor. There is a very small sign that tips you to this but it is a bit sneaky. It's odd that a great hotel like Westin would try to trick their guests like this especially at this price. February 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Recent Stay Checked in around 2. Was warmly greeted and the room was ready. When I entered the room found it to be very clean and fully stocked. Boarded the hotel shuttle the next morning and was at the airport in ten minutes. Driver was very courteous and helped all the passengers load and unload their bags. The LAX Westin is a well run and well located hotel by the airport. A head above the other hotels in the area. February 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hospitality! From the check-in, to the lobby bar staff and airport shuttle driver, this Westin staff was on top of their game! February 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Retired I liked the location, service and facility February 9, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Downgraded I got downgraded as no deluxe rooms available. Internet service in hotel was very very poor. Expected more from Westin. I complained 3 times and it was never escalated to a manager. February 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel and convenient location The Westin Los Angeles Airport is a beautiful hotel with fine amenities and spacious, comfortable rooms. The Daily Grill Restaurant provides excellent food and service. Transportation is readily available to the airport and all around Los Angeles. My four-night stay was A+. I would definitely choose this hotel again. February 8, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel Near Airport This is an airport hotel and has the amenities as such. February 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 Star Hotel with superior service. The lobby is exquisite. The bar has a great selection of food and whiskies, and above all, the customer service from the bottom to the top went out of their way. Room service may be a bit slow on a busy night, but the food was delicious. Security was visible and effective. Suggestion: restock the mini-bar more often! February 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Clean, safe and quiet Shuttle service from airport to hotel was fast and efficient. The check in process was quick and easy. Our room was very nice, and those linens are spectacular. The Daily Grill at night was fun, staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the SPG lounge was really nice. Great variety of foods and coffee to choose from, and a very comfortable lounge area to eat. A great stay for an airport hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. February 6, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by No free ammenities Stayed here for a one day layover in LA on our way to New Zealand. They charge $25 for overnight parking plus tax. They also charge for Wi-Fi and only free Wi-Fi that I they have is in the lobby which is useless if you're staying there. Charging money for every single amenity and A high amount at that really left a bad taste in my mouth. I would not recommend this place to anyone. February 6, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by stayed out of necessity Hotel was extremely noisy, not only from the proximity to airport but hotel staff could be heard talking outside the corridors as of they were physically in your room. Lobby restaurant was severely understaffed, tool me 30 min before I was provided a menu to order from... Net, only stay here of you need to. February 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mathew A. at the front desk ROCKS! My co-worker and I were staying overnight in L.A. before an early flight out the next morning. Mathew was able to check us both in at the same time and get rooms close to each other. He was able to answer all of our questions about the the park and fly program with the valet serivce at the hotel and even called to see if we could get our corporate daily discounted parking rate for the entire time we were gone...he definitely didn't HAVE to do that. He enaged us the entire time by asking us about what we did at our company. It is nice to see that hospitality still exists, especially in our younger generation today. Mathew restored my faith in our youth! Maybe there is hope yet for my own children. Thanks Mathew (with one T). You made our night! February 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable beds I get a good night's sleep when I stay at the Westin LAX February 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Stay The check in was could have been qicker, There wasn't an agent at the counter as I arrived. I am surprised that a hotel with this cost per night does not provide free internet service, especially give the fact that even the most basic hotels provide this at no cost to their guests. The restaurant was respectable and breakfast service was good. February 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disaster at 1am My wife, baby daughter, and I checked in at 1am after a cross-country flight. We had requested a crib during booking and called a few days ahead to request a fridge and confirm the crib, explaining that we wanted to get our daughter to bed as soon as we got in the room, and that we needed the fridge for her medicine. At check-in, I was told that the fridge was already in the room, and a crib was being requested by radio to housekeeping. When we got up to the room, we had neither. A good 45 minutes later, they both finally arrived, but by then our daughter was wide awake and not interested in sleeping anywhere other than the bed. We ended up having a restless night with her in between us - a disappointment given how excite we were for the Heavenly Bed. To make matters worse, the medicine and ice pack we put in the fridge overnight were room temperature by morning. The lady at the front desk during checkout told me she was sorry (what else could she say?), but that was it. No offer of anything to make things right. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable, but the service was awful. The bathrooms were a little subpar compared to other Westins and the hot water in the shower took well over 5 minutes to get going. The hotel is huge, so you'll have anonymity - which is great if that's what you're looking for and you don't have any problems during your stay. February 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Out of kid amenities Out of kids crayons & bath toys. Asked for bag to shower with my cast took an hour for delivery of one plastic bag. Live this Westin will come again but this was not my best stay. February 3, 2013
