Rated 2 out of 5 by Trip2CFam Clock in room was broken
Husband and i stayed at Westin LAX on Starwood points because he had an early flight out the next morning. First we were given a room that hadn't been cleaned - at 10:30pm. As in - we walked in, and the sheets were on the ground and the "do not disturb" sign was on the floor. We thought someone was still in the room. So we went back downstairs, talked to the receptionist, and got a new room. She was very apologetic and there was no issue outside of the slight inconvenience. She also gave us 2000 starwood points, which have since posted to my account. Then we were given a room right in front of the elevators, which was pretty noisy even at 11pm, but the worst part was that the bedside clock was set two hours slow. We didn't notice as we set our alarms on our phone, but this proved to be a big mistake. my husband woke up for a few minutes at what he thought was 3:30, because that's what the clock said, when it was really 5:30. He thought he set his alarm incorrectly on his phone, and thus missed his flight. Staff apologized and promised to refund our starwood points, waiting for that to post. Overall the hotel lobby is lovely but the rooms are worn down and need a lot of improvement, the clock issue aside. i don't think we had a Westin bed, it was not comfortable at all. also the parking is $47, that's ridiculous. expect more from Westins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TrippKunming Monica @ Front Desk is Fantastic
SPG Platinum member -- travel extensively for business across many different brands & properties. As a result, I see the best and worst of front desk experiences nearly every day. That said, I just checked-in for three different rooms (each with different needs) and had one of the single best check-in experiences ever -- not just at an SPG Property but of all time. Monica was working the front desk, helping SPG members, and was nothing short of spectacular. To say she "gets it" would be an understatement of gigantic proportion. She is s tremendous ambassador for the Westin LAX Property.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WorldTraveler73 Nice Airport Hotel
Overall, this is a nice airport hotel convenient to LAX. The highlight for me was Wesley at the front desk, who checked me in and out. He was super-friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my well-being. On the downside, some of the room furnishings and public areas seem a bit old and worn. The Starbucks located in the lobby during my previous stay here many years ago (which was extremely convenient for picking up a muffin in the morning) is no longer there, and no upgrades were available for my stay. If you need to be close to LAX, this would be a good choice. Otherwise, there is not much point to stay in this area.

Solid hotel, has a few issues. Nice and modern, good food choices. I was a little upset the as a platinum level my room upgrade the front desk gave me a room next to the club access doors. Waken up at 5:30AM to the door opening and shutting every 5 min. Manager seemed responsive to my point. We will see.

Customer services sucks! They don't know anything, and over charged me for my room. I do not recommend this hotel.

I have used this hotel numerous times over the years. The rooms are nice and, yes, I love Westin beds. But, the service on this visit suffered two large gaps. First, curbside. My daughter and I arrived in our car and no one offered us any help until AFTER we had wrested her copious amounts of heavy luggage from the car (she's moving to Europe). Exasperated by the late valet I opted to self-park when he asked, but then he didn't tell me where self-park was. So I drove down the ramp that was quite visible--but ends in a locked gate. I had to back up the ramp, which was dangerous. The valet's reply when I told him it would have been nice to know where self-park was... "I thought you knew." I guess he moonlights as a mind reader.
Then, we wanted to double-check the luggage weight. No scale in the gym, so we hauled everything down to the front desk. Their answer about a scale? An unapologetic, "It broke." So, customer service at this hotel adjacent to an international airport does not extend $20 towards a scale at Target. Appalling.
The morning shuttle was prompt and the driver was nice and helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VCC1 Great night stay
I enjoyed every moment of my stay at the Westin. The bed was super comfy and the room service was great. I had breakfast at the restaurant on-site, and it was delicious. Overall, a great experience. I'd recommend this hotel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Texan66 My Room Smelled Horrible
The lobby area is beautiful and enjoyable.
The restaurant was excellent.
The Valet, and Front Desk staff were good.
Housekeeping not very good.
The room smelled horrible ! We were hit with the smell of old cigarette smell. Evidently this room was a smoking room from back in the days of when you could smoke in hotels. The room was also dusty. I had to wipe everything off, including countertops that you would expect housekeeping to clean. But the smell most of all just ruined our experience here. The room could also use some new lamps and carpet cleaning. Overall, when I was in the lobby it felt 5 star, in the room felt like an old hotel in a less than desirable part of town. If they would correct the room smell then I would recommend this hotel.
Housekeeping obviously needs some shaping up. They also never brought the extra coffee cups I needed, we had 1 cup to 3 guests. Issues that could be easily corrected.
Convenient to airport, but pricey on their parking.
