Rated 3 out of 5 by Could Have Been Better A group of us came in for the weekend and we booked two rooms. We checked in a little after 3pm and our second room was not ready yet. They said that they would call when the room was ready. We went up to the pool to eat lunch and wait for the second room to be ready. The server who brought us our food was unfriendly and rude compared to the person who took our order. The food that we got was just okay. For the salad I was expecting more than just a half a cup of lettuce seeing that it was $8.50. Over an hour and half later we were still waiting to hear about the second room. Since we had dinner reservations, I went down to registration and asked about the room. They said it was ready, but they never called to notify us. I had also called two days before asking if we could have adjoining rooms and the person I spoke to said that was no problem. When we arrived at the hotel, it wasn't adjoining and they said that they couldn't do an adjoining room. Since we requested two double beds in each room. I completely understand if the hotel is not set up to be compatible to adjoin two double bedrooms. However, I just wish I was not told it could happen and then get to the hotel and have it not be so. The lady was nice and gave us a free movie to use. July 16, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Could've been so much better I love Westins for the heavenly beds and baths, and this hotel certainly met my expectations. Here's what I would've done better: - Make Starwood members feel like they're special. The front desk sign for this is right in the middle so it made no difference with the one giant check-in line. We waited with everyone else, and upon check-in, the front desk didn't mention anything about the Starwood membership. - Room amenities - No lotion, no shower cap, just shampoo + condr. Would have liked at least some lotion in Denver. - Breakfast! With a rooftop lounge and an outdoor pool, the only breakfast would be either at the indoor Starbuck or the lobby level restaurant. The food was not Westin-caliber (do you really need a buffet-centric breakfast when there are only 10-15 people there at 9am?). My menu item of ham and eggs looked rushed. BIg slab of ham and overly chopped up hash browns, crispy over easy eggs...could be better. Such a lovely room with tall windows but when the hostess pulled all the drapes shut, the view was gone but the bright sun still seared through the sheers. Get better window treatments. One idea, the Westin in Boston has great linen treatments for a similar room. Not a bad experience, but I think this Westin can provide a much better experience. May 9, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's Okay The hotel is clean, operational, has a gym and restaurant. I did not receive Starwood Points because I booked through Travelocity. I won't do that again! The Hotel did not have my SPG number on file when I arrived. The bed isn't so heavenly. Seems harder than what I remember from Westins. The room was not a SPG room, even though I am a Gold status member. The gym is a decent size and has a few weight machines but not enough for a good workout, more exercise bicycles and treadmills than most hotel gyms. The pool has one lap lane to swim in and is a decent length for a workout. However, it really can accommodate 1 swimmer at a time. The rooms have WIFI, but you have to pay for each device that connects (e.g., laptop, iPad, iPhone) so the fees add up. This is not unusual for most hotels, but I feel like this is a rip-off so I wait to go outside and get it for free a nearby coffee place. Not enough available electrical plugs and outlets near the desk. You have to unplug lights and other necessities if you have more than 1 device to plug in. They have a snack bar on top of the dresser in the room where you are automatically charged for lifting up a Snickers bar, so be careful. The location is very convenient and near the 16th St Mall. The staff were friendly enough. Overall, this hotel is on par with other Westin Hotels. June 22, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Baseball Getaway in Denver My husband and I came to watch our hometown sports team play the Rockies for two games. We checked in late but wanted to see the rest of the game on TV. The hotel does not carry the Root channel so we weren't able to watch it. Besides that disappointment, we would like to mention that the proximity of the Stadium to your hotel was perfect which enabled us to go to the two games without a problem. The people in Denver were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. We would definitely like to complement the staff at the Registration desk (all shifts) and the Concierge were excellent. The concierge provided information and then some about our planned day trip to Col. Springs. He and the registration desk staff gave superb customer service. The view from our room was good and the furnishings in the room and bathroom (very nice) were very well done! We ate breakfast at the in-hotel restaurant, Arizona. We were disappointed with the food we ordered off the menu: Oatmeal (too runny and not very tasty), the toast was squashed and the waitress didn't bring the butter and jelly til after the toast was cold. My husband ordered the Salmon Benedict but did not like the excessive salty salmon so he didn't eat it. We went to another restaurant the next morning for breakfast. We were disappointed with the restaurant serving poor quality food in a HIGHLY rated and expensive hotel. We would return to a Westin hotel in the future but hope that these constructive comments will be used to improve the experience for future customers. Thanks, Kathy August 30, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by High Hopes, Hotel Needs Improvement Dear Mr. Curley, I am writing this email in regards to the poor performance that my wife and I received while staying at your hotel earlier this week prior to Thanksgiving. When we checked in, we were notified that there would be a water shut down at 11:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following day; we had received an email ahead of time notifying us about this. I don't have a real issue with this, except for the fact that the water was not ready at the designated time in the morning. As a Platinum member, I was given an upgrade at the hotel. However, while the suite itself was clean and had a good view, the in-suite sauna did not work and the soap/shampoos were half-filled. Throughout the morning after our first night there, the in-room speaker system kept buzzing on and off from around 7:00 a.m. to the time we left for the day, around 9:30. I am not sure what it was, but it was really annoying and my wife was not able to sleep well. We returned on Monday night for the last night of our stay. When we woke up on Tuesday morning, we barely had any warm water, even though we ran the shower for 20 mins. I have stayed at many Westins and SPG properties and this is probably one of my worst experiences. I did mention the water issue to the front desk, who offered me 2000 SPG points. I was in a rush to the airport so I didn't have time to speak to a manager. I wanted to bring these issues to your attention because I feel that as a loyal customer, your hotel did not live up to the expectations that I had for it and the brand. If possible, I would like to request a refund for this poor experience. December 1, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Missing Attention to Detail My boyfriend and I traveled to Denver for the Rockies v Diamondbacks game. The decision to stay in a $200/night hotel was not easy, but we decided to treat ourselves. Before I state our disappointment, I have to say the location of this property is exceptional! We were steps away from the 16th Street Mall and blocks away from Coors Field. The gentleman at the front desk upon our arrival was able to check us in early and the atmosphere was inviting. The room was clean and spacious and the bed truly heavenly. We dropped off our bags and jetted off to the ball game. When we arrived back at the hotel we realized the TV in our room did not turn on despite our numerous attempts! This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed caliber! I assure you we could have stayed at a much more reasonably priced hotel and never had to worry about such an issue. The front desk stated the "engineer" had several calls in front of ours and could not relay a time the issue would be looked at. As it was already late, we decided not to stay up for the room call and went to sleep. At checkout, I informed the front desk our TV would not power on and we were blankly stared at. I stated I was upset and couldn't understand how room amenities were not double checked before a guest's arrival and they need to fix the issue before putting another guest in the room. After a very snotty remark about how the issue would obviously be fixed we were only offered a free Starbucks drink from the lobby. Thanks for the $4 coffee, but I have to say I'm not satisfied. We intend on returning back to Denver over Memorial Day weekend and I wish I could say we will be booking at this property, however given there are several hotels within a few blocks at the same price point, we will book elsewhere and expect to receive better treatment.
