Rated 4 out of 5 by Cla28 Self Park vs. Valet Parking
The parking garage is extremely narrow and eerie for a female traveler arriving at 11p.m. and having to park on the 7th level but drag luggage down to the 3rd level to enter the hotel(no elevator in garage). Tip: Choose valet parking over self parking at this location.

I visit this hotel usually every 3-4 months and can honestly say it is a pleasure . The staff are very polite and extremely helpful. On this past visit which was the first week of November we had a staff member Casey, that actually went above and beyond to accommodate my friend and me. Thanks to him we really did have a very good stay.

My in room phones did not work so I could not order room service after a very long day of meetings and flights so I ended up skipping dinner that night.
In room coffee maker only brewed a quarter of a cup at a time so it took four attempts to get one cup of coffee.
The staff is very nice but other than that the hotel is a no-go for me.

I have always had a great stay and excellent service. This time it was very different, the air condition was not working properly, it was extremely loud and windy. We called the technician and he said it was they were having problems with the units. The last night, there was a "party"going on next door to our room. We could not sleep!

I was very disappointed in this site. The hotel layout is not good and the fact that you have to carry your luggage up an escalator to check was difficult. The elvators were slow. Dining choices are very limited and over priced. As for the hotel rooms, the room was dusty, the noise in the hallway and elevator area echoed through out.

Although renovations have made this property better they havent fixed their customer service. On 3 different occasions I called down to the front desk and after waiting 5 min for someone to pick up I finally hung up. There were problems with charges on 5 of my 8 nights and it took weeks to get resolved and some are still unresolved.

I was very disappointed in the way my reservation was changed without notification. I called ahead to verify room type and confirmed that a suite was available. When I arrived my reservation was changed with no reason given. I was told it would be handled and someone would be calling us in our room to discuss and it never happened.

This was a good hotel, rooms and bathrooms are small, but view is wonderful. Breakfast was extremely high (> $20/person) for buffet and the food was not hot or fresh, but otherwise, the stay was good. A hot tub would be a great added feature to the pool deck (odd that an indoor pool is there without a hot tub in an upscale hotel).

I attended the Teaching Professor Technology Conference at the Peachtree Plaza and found the facility to be well prepared and accommodating. I enjoyed the various venues, though the seating was not as conducive to group settings as I would have liked. However, each presenter seemed to "make it work." The staff were very accommodating, specifically the wait staff who were kind, knowledgeable and professional at all times. Kudos to kitchen and wait staff department for making all meals purely delightful! I admire the unobtrusive yet effective changes in seating, especially in the Peachtree Ballroom, that occurred almost as if by magic.
My one suggestion is to ensure that the check out/in staff take more time to clearly provide instructions to the first-timers at the hotel. Sometimes the instructions were so quickly given - due to repeated practice, I am sure - that they were often difficult to follow. For example, I found that the guests were better able to show how to use the guest key cards in the elevator than the staff persons were able to provide directions.

My sister and I stayed at the Westin Monday night along with her 13 year old daughter and a friend. The hotel and room was very nice. I have no complaints at all. The staff from valet to check in hostess was very nice.
And we were pleasantly suprised that the price was so resonable. We only paid $118 before tax.

Only 2 staff checking guests in at prime time with several events going on at the hotel. Did not give direction to room loacation or elevator or need to use room card to operate elevator. Did not email or give a hard copy of receipt, as promised. Had to call and request it. Concierge not helpful. Would not allow late check out.

We had a great stay but the person that checked us in was not a people person. I asked about a misunderstanding when booking, then she accommodated us but when I asked about it when she was explaining things she said rudely " if you'll let me finish". Maybe I should have not been impatient but her guest service was terrible.

My niece and I love the hotel. We had no problem getting around, this hotel is walking distance from the train. The rooms were wonderful and the beds were better then home. Every where we went, we could see the hotel. The service we received was fantastic, thinking about returning in December for a College Bowl Game. Thanks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Demsey My Recent Trip to Atlanta
I truly enjoyed my recent trip to Atlanta and the Westin. The young man that was on duty as the concierge was one of the better concierges I have encountered in my travels. His recommendations were great. The check in staff was very helpful, considering all the construction that was going on in the hotel at the time. If you were standing around looking confused the staff was very helpful. My only concern was the maintenance staff took too long to respond to concerns. It took three contacts in a day and a half to have a defective iron replaced. The housekeeper discovered a broken door handle on my shower and immediately reported to "express maintenance" for repair, this item was never repaired and I called and questioned why it was not repaired at which time I was informed that the case was closed out by maintenance. This item was not repaired during our stay. Front desk was very accommodating when I called and offered me compensation, however we were checking out the next morning and declined. Other than problems with their maintenance staff, this hotel is an excellent hotel to stay when in Atlanta. It is in walking distance to many great restaurants and attractions. Revolving bar on the 72nd floor was awesome, just to sit and relax and enjoy the view.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Gregory4566 Overbooking is a problem
The hotel is beautiful clean and comfortable, however way overbooked for the weekend we were there. Waiting on elevators 15 min then packing in them like sardines is unacceptable for this caliber of hotel. Signage was confusing, restrooms out on the floor of our breakout sessions, made the overall experience disappointing.

Elevators clearly an issue with this hotel during fairly full occupancy. Everyone frustrated at the wait (on every floor) & most eventually took the elevator up to ensure a space for the journey down (or walked the internal staircase). Concierge unable to call security for a safe problem, I was directed to the house fone.

Is in a great location. Easy to navigate city from there. Great view. Rooms are a little small. Need more attention to housekeeping details -- French fries just under the bed skirt and none of the reading lights over the bed worked. Also, the time has switched to DST over one week ago. You think they could chg the clock!

We ate the breakfast buffet at the Cafe and to be honest I have had a better continental breakfast at a 2 star hotel. It was extremely overpriced and the food was subpar! The staff there was very attentive but the food ruined the experience for us. We also went down to the lobby bar around 10pm and it was already closed!

I felt the hotel and everything about it was simply outstanding. I was surprised however that the overnight fee for parking was so high for guests, especially Gold Members. Small things like this in an exceptional hotel can make a difference in the overall subliminal feelings of a location for future visits. Thank you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by miturnbo Not as Expected
My stay started with being given a room number of 4807 along with the keys only to find when I got to that room that it was occupied already. Yep, just walked right into an occupied room. Nice... Went back down and found out that they should have given my 4607, not 4807. Honest mistake I know but I didn't feel like it was truly handled appropriately. Then in the room that night the folks in the room below me were having a good old time until about 1am in the morning when I finally called the front desk to complain. It continued on until I finally yelled at them around 1:30am. See, the metal window panes and the massive glass acts like a large speaker so you can hear the conversations of other adjoining rooms. I had internet problems and had to call them to come to the room to fix the issue and when the guy could not fix it he simply asked me to use the wifi.
All in all, I was not very pleased with the accomodations. I would not say I would recommend this to others.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TeddyBear Great Location but Needs work with staff
The location of the hotel is great for family. This trip was for leisure with children. The rooms were smaller than what I expected and I was informed that suites were unavailable. The housekeeping was simply unaccommodating. I either had to phone several times to have room cleaned or linen change and request more towels. One day I didn't receive any housekeeping. I waited over two hours for more wash cloths therefore I went to the front desk. The representative phoned housekeeping and they had a verbal debate in my presence about what I requested. I was informed again that somebody will be at the room shortly. I waited for another hour to be told"mam they put the linen on your bed!" I informed them that I were in the room and no linen was available. She then stated another room number and I gave her the correct room number. I received my request finally without an apology or anything. The staff wasn't a pleasant experience for me. However the location in priceless.

The downtown Westin has always been our hotel of choice in ATL no matter if business was downtown, to the south, or to the north. I just loved the Westin. However, my recent stay, for my anniversary, involved having to call security in the early morning hours because of an unrulely room next door with well over 6 teenagers plus guest having a party. Security did come up, removed someone, and left... the party then continued and that door must have opened and closed 100 times through the early morning. Guess who got NO SLEEP. Most miserable night ever. I spoke to the front desk the next morning and they did acknowledge and thank me for calling security. I told them it was the worst night in my life and because of the lack of follow up, the party never stopped. i WAS THEN BLOWN AWAY WHEN THE FRONT DESK LOOKED AT ME AND ASKED, " WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?" hmmmm, I guess nothing Westin, absolutely nothing. Won't be back to visit or will not recommend to anyone in my company because of that smuggness. jerk

I called the front desk and asked them if they could have valet get me something out of my car. By the time I walked down to valet they didn't know that I called to for my car. The room didn't have all the basic essentials that most hotel has. overall, I wasn't satisfied considering what I paid to stay at the Westin!

This hotel is strategically located close to restaurants. Had a few maintenance issues in the room that need addressing (shower knobs, door security bar loose, electrical outlet by coffee maker, etc...). Other than that thoroughly enjoyed the fitness area however it to needs some maintenance to the aerobic equipment.

can't beat the hotel's location in downtown atlanta. walking distance to all area attractions and restaurants. rooms were recently renovated and were clean and floor to ceiling windows provide a great view.
only drawback is the hotel's parking fee overnight at $32.00 per nite..several garages close by are a lot less.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Logan No Parking for Hotel Guest? 30 Min elevator wait
I arrived late to my hotel - roughly 11pm in downtown Atlanta. I was a gold member last year, and I always prefer SPG hotels.
When I arrived I found out that not only was regular parking full, but valet was full. We were then instructed to park at a "secure" garage about a block away and across the street. We had to walk the streets of downtown Atlanta... No explanation was given other than that a lot of people were coming to the restaurant or bar.
Hotel guests should have a designated area to park. One of the biggest perks to staying at the hotel is safe parking downtown. I almost changed hotels, and if it wasn't so late I would have.
When checking out leave early , I paid for a high level. The view was outstanding, but a 30 min. wait for an elevator was not. 3 passed (1 every 10 Minutes!) and all were full. I called down to have someone bring us in the service elevator when one going up open that was semi-full. I jumped on it and for the next 15 minutes went down.
