Rated 4 out of 5 by SDMark27 Great stay
I loved the views from any floor we were on. The sky lounge is AMAZING! You pay for the view but it's worth it. Room was nice but was placed in an ADA room because of over booking. All and all it was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JRae Staff at the hotel was exceptional
I found the staff at hotel to be exceptional in service. Every staff person that I came in contact with seemed to make an effort to be sure that I was enjoying my stay. Food at the meetings was outstanding.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Design Disappointed in my stay
The Atlanta downtown Westin was not as accommodating as I would expect for as expensive it was. Not willing to place luggage in my room even though I was pre-registered! Nothing out of the way for my stay.

Rated 4 out of 5 Nice Hotel
The staff were very friendly and very quick with any request.
2 points - parking did not exists
and we had to wait for checking in and out. Only 2 people on duty, seems like there should have been more.

Bring your own washcloth. This hotel does not provide them.
Despite the renovation, it is not quiet in the rooms. Noisy guests, noisy hotel room doors and loud service elevator make rest near impossible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by percee55 A TERRIBLE STAY
We had reservations made months in advance and had to take the lousy room that wasn't even ready until 7:00 PM. Not what was reserved.
Preferred Guest meant nothing.
We will NEVER stay in a Westin again.

I was not happy that during our stay we lost water twice. No employee seemed to be that concerned or accommodating. I travel weekly for work and there needs to be a better response then the one given

New renovations are beautiful. I ordered room service three times and it arrived once. I fell asleep waiting for dinner TWICE. The building is connected to where I was working which is rather convenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Usmc6511 Beware of late check out
Had problems with the new room keys. Missed a flight waiting for security to come open my door after the front desk could not give me a new key. Everything else was great. But a poor way to end a trip.

ICE Machine across hall was VERY loud all day and night. WE stuffed pilows under the door and that help a bit. People in room above could be heard clearly through ceiling.
Parking fees are ridiculous.

Bed was very comfortable; room was nice; work out facility was lacking, and not able to access pool.
Valet was unacceptable; they misplaced my car keys and was waiting for 30 minutes; no real apology.

I was displeased with the fact of paying for internet service on a business, with a personal visit I would expect. Otherwise the hotel was extremly well kept and staff was very helpful and friendly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Georgy2012 only good for the views
I chose this hotel because I had a friend that came into town and I wanted him to have a great view of Atlanta. That Is about the only thing that was worth the stay. My main concern was with the food and beverage dept. I have stayed and even worked at major chain hotels before so I am very familiar with overpriced dining within hotel facilities. This was the most outrageous I have ever seen though. Our food was priced too high and the quality was not worth it. We ordered twice in our one night stay. (dinner & breakfast) dinner was salty cold and took forever. Breakfast, our order was just wrong. They even called back to confirm the order, and she restated it wrong so we went over it again. Then when the order was delivered we had items missing and things added that we never even mentioned to order. The cheese in our omelets were wrong. The grits were lumpy!!! I hope that this hotel will soon undergo renovations to become more comparable to modern hotels. Valet was prompt and efficient. Checkin was not impressionable. It just seemed like everything was the bare minimum. Nothing special.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rjcassie Striking Landmark in Downtown Atlanta
Being new to the SPG program, we decided to take a short weekend getaway, taking advantage of several point bonus programs with SPG. The hotel is beautiful. The recently renovated room we were assigned was also beautiful with the bonus of a fantastic view. Our dinner in the Sun Dial Restaurant was magnificent! There were a few items that prompted me to rate this hotel 4 star instead of 5. I am gold status with SPG. In the time it took to get checked in at the gold line, I could have queued through the regular line twice. The staff was very nice and professional but had difficulty answering my questions about the SPG program. Nowhere in the reservation process did it tell me that special rates do not give all SPG privileges. The Sun Dial restaurant volunteered a 20% discount and bonus points for an SPG member. The cafe did not. When I asked, they said that is handled by the front desk. The front desk told me it is handled by the restaurant. ?? One last item that disappointed us was the shower head. It was far from heavenly and very inconsistent with the standard of the rest of the room.

Don't choose self-parking!! No elevators; exorbitant cost; service awful and uninformed. Reception under-manned and not too helpful. Building beautiful, lounge nice, room comfortable, but...

The check-in lines were 20 people deep. There were only two people staffed at regular check-in and one at the Starwood Preferred line. I notices the lines this long every day I stayed at the hotel.

Hotel is fairly dark and needs interior re-design. I've stayed at several Westin's across the country and this one rates the lowest. Rooms were fine, the rest of the hotel could use an upgrade

The elevators are fun, especially the dedicated elevator to the top floor restaurant (which was a little disappointing, although the collard greens marinated in Coca Cola were amazingly tasty).

As a customer service supervisor for more than 5 years, I expected more than what was actually given! My reservation was set two weeks in advance, requesting a double room. However, at check I was informed their weren't any more doubles, was given a $41.65 credit and promised a roll away. Hours before my event with still no tool away, my party was informed the hotel staff were behind but they would get the bed in our room while we were out. At 4am, after hours of being on our feet, we arrive back to the room w/ no rollaway bed!!! I call down stairs, get the MOD, whom I won't name, she apologized for not being able to provide a bed and suggested I contact the morning supervisor and the corporate office. She stated although she was unable to offer another room or bed, she could send up pillows and a blanket... 1.5 hrs after waiting, I went to sleep, in a chair! At checkout, no one asked how the stay was or if we needed anything! While the hotel is beautiful, views are awesome the only thing needing improvement is CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! And I'm sure no one has this type of experience daily, I just expected more.

I recommend this hotel to everyone. The staff goes the extra mile to make sure your needs are met. It is spotless, comfortable, and well managed. It is the only place I'll stay in Atlanta.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dallas123 very poorly run hotel
I choose to stay at this hotel because of the proximity to a conference and the pool. The pool was shut the entire time during my stay and I was not directed until it was too late to a pool at a sister facility.
I requested conditioner one evening and it took an hour to get my package and 4 calls to room service.
My room was cleaned after I requested a sign to put out and not have it cleaned that day and I was told that that was not a choice and after I returned to the room there was a sign to put out.
Staff was confused and not helpful.
I was told that my credit for not cleaning my room was only good at the hotel restaurants and later on I was told that in fact I could use it at the Starbucks in the hotel lobby.
The room was not equiped with even a shower cap or something to shine shoes. I have never stayed at a hotel that did not provide these amenities and usually Q tips.
TV choices did not incluce any business channel. CNBC had been a choice in the past but was not avaialble.
I would not recommend this hotel for anyone traveling on business. Also WSJ was not an option for the morning paper.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Majestic Not Worth the Cost!!
I recently visited the Westin and was very disappointed. Of course I was looking forward to the wonderful view and the Sun Dial restaurant. Well the view was wonderful, however the both nights I stayed the restaurant was not rotating. My biggest disappointment of the trip. I was told the only rotation I would get is if I had a couple of long islands to drink. The restaurant and the bar area closed early compared to other downtown hotels I've visited. My room was very dated. Scratched up furniture, old tv, nasty refrigerator. Seriously... I've stayed at cheaper hotels with better quaity of rooms. Housekeeping did not make it to the room until 3pm. Was not able to use my cell phone in the room and the internet fee is way too high. Ordered a $20 plus tax burger with fries from room service since nothing else was open in the hotel and received a half cooked hamburger, when I specified well done. Outside of the view, the hotel was a big disappointment. I would recommend other hotels in the area. Your paying for the name Westin and the view only because everything else about the hotel needs improvement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ATL001 Poor Service
I consider myself a loyal SPG member, and overall, a fairly easy guest to please. Also, this is my first written review. The room, along with daily cleanings were fine. The fitness center was very nice. However, the service was very poor. A few specific examples: 1) Ordered room service at 10:45 p.m. (eggs) and the food was delivered at 12:15 a.m. after multiple calls and promises that would be on the way up much earlier. Upon arrival, the individual indicated that he just started and didn't know anything about the delay; 2) Checked in very late at night, and had to get someone from the cleaning crew to get hotel registration so that I could check in, they were sitting in a behind a closed door in the back; 3) After 10:00 p.m. called down to registration each night, and had to let ring no less than 20 times prior to someone picking up and many times no one picked up at all
I will continue to stay at SPG locations; however, will find another one in Atlanta to provide my patronage as did not feel the attention to detail and customer service here was acceptable. or in line with other SPG locations.
