Rated 2 out of 5 by kasint Great building - room service issues
This Westin is very convenient for any visitor to the Atlanta Americas Mart. It's very clean and the staff are all very nice. Their room service option is horrible and I cannot stress that enough. I tried several time to order from our room, from my mobile phone, from a hallway courtesy phone and even directly from the concierge. The food never came. Worst part is that I was told that it was on it's way to the room at one point. I had two small children and a grandmother that fell asleep waiting for the food that never came. The grandmother didn't want to call and let me know because she wanted me to have a nice night out with no worries. I'm still furious as you can tell. At least I had snacks that I brought from home to give them. Nice place to stay if you're not in need of in room dining. I will most likely stay here again due to it's proximity to the Mart but I will never bring my children back.

My wife and I have been staying at this property for a number of years on business and have been found it to be reliable and comfortable. The staff is always extremely friendly and welcoming- Alicia at the reception desk is terrific. Location is convenient to all of downtown Atlanta and transportion. The hotel is undergoing a needed refurbishing.

Booked this room back in March. Had no idea the hotel was going to be remodeled. Stayed here previously and had a pleasant experience. This trip, not so much. Parking was a super huge hassle - valet was full, self parking lot was full - other lot i found i had to move my vehicle by 4AM. The elevators were packed full of people trying to get down to the lobby on Sunday morning for check-out. waited 30 minutes or more and every single elevator going down was full. decided to take the elevator up and stop on every floor coming down, just to be able to get to the lobby. i will stay here again, but not until the construction is complete.

Rated 4 out of 5 Hotel is under renovation
This was the first time we stayed at this hotel. It is under renovation which we did not know until we arrived. The first room they gave us was in terrible condition. We went to the front desk and they moved us and closed the room. The second room was one of the 21 that had not been renovated either, but was cleaner. The staff was nice.

I accidentally left a suit hanging in the closet. The concierge not only retrieved the suit but dispatched the suit by Fedex and left me a phone message to provide the tracking number. I received the suit in Canada two days later.
Lovely hotel and over-and-above service. I would definitely stay there again on a return visit to Atlanta.

From the moment I walked in, from being directed by the nice guy near the elevator, to the gentleman who checked me in, to the taxi stand staff getting me a cab, your staff had overwhelmed with a fun and positive attitude. Not only does this help me have a comfortable stay, I truly believe it helps the overall demeanor of all the convention guests in terms of being friendly and fun as well.
The gym is outstanding! I was planning to take a cab to LA fitness for the days I needed to work out but your equipment is comprehensive and high end and it is open 24h! This is the reason I will stay here next year! Btw, the guy taking pre-orders in the Starbucks line every morning was so cool!

This a below par form other Westin property. The room is noisy (the AC vent is making noises all night), I informed the front desk, they told me nothing they can do. We requested for another room, and were told that there were out of room. I called the 800 reservation number, and they told me that there are many vacancy. The hotel layout is confusing ( I was told that part of the hotel is from a clothing store store), there is lack of signs/labeling on rooms.

We decided to have an adventure for New Years and bring in 2014 in Downtown Atlanta, GA. We chose the Westin due to it's luxury and beautiful view. The Westin met and exceeded our expectations. Even with the renovations going on, the Hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. Everyone met us with a smile and everyone was accommodating. An experience like that makes us want to return to the Westin for future stays. We would recommend the Westin to anyone looking to stay in downtown Atlanta. We liked it so much, we will be back for next New Years Eve.

The design of the building is poor. The room I had was directly across from the ice machine. People would get ice all during the night that kept me awake. A simple soluition is to install a door going into the ice machine area. The other this is the continually slamming of the doors to the rooms of people going into the rooms. Again, this could be solved. These corrections would make the quality of sleep much better.

My stay at the Westin in early October, 2013 was memorable. While I was at a nearby restaurant getting sandwiches for my Aunt and me, I accidently missed a step down and completed twisted my left foot. I was able to walk back to the hotel. Through out the night however,my foot pain grew worse and I called the Westin operator who immediately contacted Security. When they arrived, they called EMS. Security remained with us through out. The pa ramedics wrapped my foot and made recommendations. Next day Security called to inquire about my condition. They even offered a wheelchair so that I could attend my meetings. The Hotel Staff was very helpful and concerned and I will alway emember my stay in Atlanta. Thank You.

I have been staying here when I come in for the gift market since 1997. This was my most negative visit by far. Friday night I was told it would take 90 minutes for room service to bring me a bowl of soup, so I ventured down to the "cafe" — in a freezing cold, unwelcoming conference room — and waited an hour to get a meal that was distinctly unappetizing. The room was barely picked up, and then the concierge completely messed up my reservation to get a car to the airport. It was a really shady company, and it was difficult to get even the amount I was charged. Worse still, every time I tried to call the hotel to straighten this mess out, I was put on hold & disconnected. The whole experience was unsavory and I'm really nervous that I gave this limo company my credit card number. I really love this hotel due to its proximity to the mart, but will think twice before staying here again. One employee said 10K points would be added to my account, but at this point, I'll believe it when I see it.

Almost everything about my stay was wonderful. The staff was friendly and the hotel beautiful. My only complaint was that during the middle of the night the fire alarm went off and I had to walk down 59 floors only to find that it had been a false alarm. I know that no one has control of that but 2 things bothered me. First there were no speakers in the stairwells so I did not hear the false alarm alert that came about midway through my decent. Second, the staff was confused as to what to do for the inconvenience of many patrons. When you are thrown from your bed and forced to descend 59 floors you expect more that an "I'm sorry" and shrugged shoulders. You have a wonderful hotel but your emergency procedures need work...

Rated 5 out of 5 by TravelJeep A Week of Sightseeing
Not often do I write such a lengthy review, however, for this occasion I felt it was necessary.
I decided at the beginning of July 2013 that I wanted to come down to Atlanta for some sightseeing. After reading the initial reviews of the property, I was skeptical in choosing the Westin Peachtree Plaza. In fact I was looking at to other Starwood hotels in the area. In the end the deciding factor was to stay in this iconic building, the close proximity to everything were I did not have to travel long to get to and the reopening of the Sun Dial Restaurant with their new menu. So the last week of August was my stay leaving the day of Dragon Con Festival.
After spending five (5) nights in the hotel, I can understand the variation of the reviews. With over 1,000 rooms and such a tall building, you are bound to have some problems. The valet misplaced my keys on the pegboard the one time I had to take the car out, the TV remote did not work correctly and some billing problems. Which was taken care with prompt and professionalism including follow-up calls. The on-going lobby renovation never bothered me. In fact, I spent some time watching the artist work on the lobby wall.
Until I experience the geometry of the building’s architecture first hand, I realized some of the complaints regarding room comfort. The hallways are nice and roomy, however, as you walk into the room, it is narrow until you past the closet. The bathroom door did not give you much room for access. The bed area of the room was nice and big. I had a premium deluxe king bedroom, which after a little while I got used to the conditions and felt at home. The view from my upper floor facing southwest was super. The shower was great with rain head and the hand held showerhead. And yes, the Westin Heavenly bed, say no more. I cannot comment about the other rooms.
From the time I pulled in for the valet to take the car, the check-in receptionist at the front desk, the concierge, checking out and the rest of the hotel staff during my stay were all exceptional. The front desk provide me with my room keys a hand-out for local restaurants in the event I did not want eat with-in the hotel. Everybody had an open warmth and friendliness to him or her that made you comfortable. The parking attendants would greet me when I walked in and ask how was your day from sightseeing. In fact, the concierge, Donny, made my stay memorable by fine-tuning my schedule and making the best of my time here in Atlanta. On a Sunday evening when I first checked in, he was able to arrange a tour for me the very next morning. I have taken many different types of tours in my day, but this one was the best one to date. When in Atlanta make sure to reserve space with Peachy Keen and ask for Shelly. She really knows the city and how to tailor to the group. Donny, I have to salute you sir.
The pool quality is a major factor in our getaways. The water temperature was great and it was nice and clean. The great part was the opening of the roof in the early morning to let the sunlight in and the fresh air. The pool never smelled of a high chlorine level. The last evening diner was at the Sun Dial Restaurant. We get what you pay for, which is real fresh food that comes from the local resources. Simply put, it was great.
So, my time at the Westin Peachtree Plaza and city of Atlanta was well worth it. In fact, I want to come back and stay at the Westin for a future Dragon Con Festival.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MrsZ Horrible Parking/Valet Experience
When we arrived, we discovered that our room was located directly across from the elevator. I am a light sleeper, so I immediately called and asked if we could have a different room. The front desk told us that there was currently nothing they could do, but they would see what could be done later in the day and would call us with an update. We never had a second call and were stuck in the room. The head of the bed was in direct line to the door, so I spent the entire night listening to drunk people get in and out of the elevator. When we went to check out in the morning, we called down at 10:15 and asked the valet to bring our car around. They told us they were running a bit behind and it would take about 15 minutes. That was not a problem, since it gave us time to check out. However, at 11:15, they still did not have our car. Valet had "lost" it and even with repeated requests to quickly locate our car (we had a wedding to attend at 12:30, and the wedding was located 1.5 hours north of Atlanta), we were still standing there in frustration. When our car was finally located, they said that the person who had put our keys in their pocket would be "dealt with." Still didn't help me to get to my wedding on time. The guests in the valet area were also of an extremely low class and responded to my request to find my car with profanity and insults. In addition, the two times that we wanted to talk to concierge, we went to the line for "SPG Gold and Platinum Members." Each time, we had to wait in a lengthy line of guests that were not SPG members. Why have an SPG line if you aren't going to honor it? I can honestly say that I will never stay at this hotel again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mike8888 hotel is a disgrace
With the extent of the major overhaul of this hotel with renovations on the main levels, it should not be open for guests. I love the Westin chain and rarely have a bad experience but this hotel in its current condition is a disgrace.
On Tuesday night I wanted to relax and have a drink in the bar to watch a game but only thing open was the club Sundial. I was told I could put my name down for a 30 minute wait. Unacceptable.
Both mornings I had to wait in a line of 20+ people to get a coffee at the Starbucks counter. Very long wait and nearly was late to my meeting because of it. There was ONE person working the counter both days That is an embarrassment to Westin. It is a hotel with 80 plus floors and you have ONE person staffed to sell coffee?
With the confined spaces due to all of the temporary walls set up it was like getting around in a NY subway there were so many people.
Just a terrible experience.

For such a large hotel, I felt well treated. The property is great with a lot of energy from all of the events that are constantly going on. The room was a king and it was very clean and the bed was great. The shower has two heads, a huge rain shower head and a nice rectangular angled head which is on a hose.
I left my iPad on the bed when I checked out. Lost and found grabbed it and had it to me 24 hours later. All of the staff were friendly including the evening concierge who assisted me navigating the MARTA transit system. I would definitely stay here again...and will in February.

Lydia was amazing!!! funny and very knowledgeable of the city and other directions we needed. 90% of my time is spent traveling and meetings, in/out of hotels. She was the best I've ever experienced. What really caught my attention was check-out time. Another guest was waiting for Lydia to thank her for being helpful and assisting their mom. I was absolutely blown away by all the laughter and hugs and thank you's. Lydia thanks for being genuine, thanks for following-up to ensure I received my hot tea and most of all Westin thank you for allowing me to experience the best!!! (Lydia)

Rated 1 out of 5 by ParkerV Worst run Starwood property I have ever stayed at
From the confused valet parking staff, incompetent bellman staff, the absence of a Starwood Gold/Platinum desk, and the inability to grasp the whole hotel reservation concept at the front desk... Hands down the worst run Starwood property I have ever stayed at.
Two out of the three rooms were not available at 4pm in the afternoon. They upgraded us to a suite and comped us a room that needed a roll-away bed to match our bed needs.
They sent staff to remove the roll-aways rather than deliver them. After correcting their mistake the beds they did deliver have no linens, pillows, or blankets.
Four calls to the surly and rude front desk ... Still no linens two hours later. Awful place. Stay anywhere but here. Should not be part of Starwood.

The bed was the most comfortable and pleasing thing about the hotel. Our room was only serviced once during the entire 3 day stay, and on the second day they refolded a used towel that still had my red lipstick on the bottom, now that was just nasty. Our beds were never made during the whole stay. The elevator situation was way too crowded and unorganized. The valet was a complete joke, 30 minutes for them to pull our car around was just way too long. The police was called because of a group of people being reckless and loud, which made it a concern for our safety. I have never had any problems out of Starwood hotels before and we use them quite often when we book clients for our job. Needless to say this trip that was suppose to be an end of the year vacation ended up being a end of the year headache.

The staff is great. The hotel was undergoing a renovation which was a bit of a hassle but not that big of a deal. Clearly it's a very nice facility and will be even nicer once the reno is complete. But my big beef is the rooms. I have never been in a noisier hotel room in my life. The door had about a one inch gap between the bottom and the floor, and there were even gaps on the side. You could hear someone whispering in the hall and the light poured through. And even though we were on the 57th floor, you could hear sirens clearly and constantly throughout the night. Somehow the exterior noise traveled through where the windows come together in the metal frame. Even though the facility is great, 3 terrible nights of sleep trumps everything else. I would never stay again unless I knew they had addressed these factors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by woody0265 Horrible customer service, very disorganized from the moment I arrived
Upon arrival I waited in line to check in for almost 30 minutes, although there were no guests in line in front of me. I stayed on business and turned in appropriate paperwork which was not added to my account, and had to explain several times to have this updated correctly. The ice machine on my floor did not work, and I could not get ice brought to me. When I called for luggage service on the day of checkout I waitied over an hour and a half. I had poor service from the moment of arrival to the momen I checked out, and was very disappointed in the competence of the staff.

I attended the Teaching Professor Technology Conference at Westin. First, the property location is well placed to enjoy the restaurants along PeachStreet.
The conference rooms were very good and the food was good quality. The downside was using the elevators. The room key tap was only on one side and the floor button would not always activate. In other words, it was a pain to use in packed elevators.
My room had a nice view. Unfortunately, I had to question the cleanliness.
For a conference it is an adequate place to stay.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SPGPlatinum101 The worst Starwood option in Atlanta?
This property is quite rundown. The rooms and furnishings need a complete overhaul and the air conditioning / heating system in the rooms does not work very well (low level of occupant control). The wheels fell of the 1980s era office chair several times during my stay. The TV was also from the 1980s. The hotel also "lost track" of my Platinum status and blamed me for not addressing this before my arrival. The front desk staff were rather rude and did not present the level of professionalism that I expect from the Westin brand. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Word is this is the tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere. So if you're ok with it, try to get a room on one of the top floors. You can see forever (and ever). My most recent stay:
- Check in took approx 30 minutes
- I was upgraded to a "suit" which was two normal rooms with the door between removed (of course, the second area had couch). Not an effective set-up in my opinion
- The room itself and the furnishings were badly worn and all in need of replacing (five years ago I'm guessing).
- The breakfast buffet was sub-par (especially for the price).

Rated 3 out of 5 by Travelerin2012 The building is really interesting
I was disappointed with the Westin Peachtree. I understand it is being renovated. Once the renovation is complete I hope it will be better. The interior of my room was worn and tattered. The furniture had prettly large scars and chips and the walls were scratched. One of the base tiles in the bathroom had been replaced with a piece of unfinished plywood. This is not up to the standards that I have come to expect from a Westin. The building is very interesting and the views from the upper rooms are neat. The food service and meeting rooms were ok.

I know the Hotel is in the downtown area but it's Atlanta. It's not like it's New York or San Fran.
