Rated 3 out of 5 by Leaking bathroom Hello, I want to start by saying I am a big fan of SPG and I know this situation is not the norm. So first when I checked in and got to my room my door was open. I guess housekeeping forgot so it felt a bit off but the room was clean. Then next morning was the issue. I woke up in the morning after hearing gushing water coming down in the bathroom. It turns out that when the shower in the room on top is used it created almost a flood in my bathroom. My dissapointment is actually with what happen when i called the front desk. They were not apologetic and just sent the maintinace guy over. He came and said he has to fix the plumbing from the room upstairs and left. In order for me to take a shower that morning I had to clean the bathtub as at was full of junk from she space in the cealing between rooms. I was never offered help or at least a new room where I can take a shower. Really it was like no big deal to the hotel staff. I had a very important meeting that morning so the stress did not help. I wish the staff would have reacted to help me more appropriately. December 17, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by NOT AS GOOD * no available outlet near bed to use laptop while on the bed * left with only 3 sheets of tissue paper after housekeeping was done *charged for courtesy item that I did not take, did not notice till I got home * waited over 20 mins for food arrival for lunch in restaurant when there were only 6 customers there * no gift shop after 3:30pm December 11, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Housekeeping is not impressive I thought I was in for a real treat staying at a high priced hotel. It was certainly quiet and the bed was comfortable. But I was very disappointed to find only one towel and no shampoo. Instead I found a used bottle of shampoo in the shower, gross! And then I was charged $35 for a granola bar from the refreshment stand and spent 10 minutes on hold when I called about the bill. I will be looking for other hotels for my next visit to Waltham. Rated 5 out of 5 by Luxury within reach Great hotel, amazing staff, and more than I could hope for for the price! Highly recommended if you are going to Boston and don't want to pay the high prices of the hotels in the city. Waltham is just 15 mins away from Boston. November 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not all rooms are quiet I stayed here with one of my children in a suite,expecting that my child would be able to have a good nights sleep on the pull out sofa in the living room. Unfortunately, the hotel is designed with a huge atrium that opens to all the hallways in the hotel. It probably would have been ok but we were given suite 466 near the atrium and the noise from all the people in the bar in the lobby was so loud that my daughter couldn't sleep. The staff in the hotel was very nice and security came up right away and closed the hallway firedoors to minimize the noise but it was still audible and the noise woke my child up again early in the morning with the piano playing in the lobby for the breakfast crowd. I am a gold starwood member and the desk informed me that they were unable to move my room. In addition, I also expected that there would have been pillows for the pull-out sofa in the closet and I should not have had to call for pillows. Other than that, the hotel was well located and the staff were very nice and greeted us wherever we were. November 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegant and quiet During the recent blackout, we needed a place nearby to stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the Westin. The room was spacious, well-appointed and extremely comfortable. Most important, it was quiet in and around our room. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. November 4, 2012

Was stuck there for 2 days during/after Sandy..what a great staff from the front desk to the restaurant staff. Really made a stay more pleasant with all that was going on ....see you again for sure! Rated 3 out of 5 by Wedding Guest The facilities were excellent & very clean. The problems we ran in to were as follows. First, upon arrival (after the wedding & before the reception), there was only one valet & no available bellmen. We had to find our own luggage cart, unload the car, & bring our belongings to the room ourselves. The poor valet, was being run ragged, as everyone was arriving for the reception at the same time. We helped an elderly woman with her bags because there was no one to assistance her. Upon check-in, nobody mentioned SPG to me, at all (they were very busy checking in guests staying for the wedding). After going to our room (which was wonderful) we all went to the lounge for a drink. It was very crowded due to the wedding and there were only 2 bartenders, causing a huge line. I ordered 2 vodka & Tonics & received vodka & soda. When I asked for new ones I was told the "tonic" was broken. I then exchanged them for Coronas and was told they couldn't credit me the difference. The worst of it came the next day (prior to check-out) one of our rooms was cleaned and a full cooler removed prior to us checking out. The Manager brought us the cooler (empty) and when we asked about the contents he retrieved most of what had been in there. Why were our personal belongings removed prior to checkout time? We were in a block of rooms reserved for the wedding & were attending the wedding breakfast in the hotel. Another guest had his tuxedo taken out of the room while at the breakfast. The Manager was very professional & apologetic, but it seemed very odd. Overall, the hotel was beautiful, the lack of staffing during a busy time was a huge part of the problem. Rated 1 out of 5 by this hotel was very poor I requested a quiet room, no feather bedding and to be away from the elevators. Upon entering the room on I noticed the extremely loud noise from the highway. Then I killed a huge bug and found several dead bugs on the carpet. I requested a rm change and a bellhop brought keys to a new rm on a higher floor. It wasn't as noisy and I was assured by him that he would call housekeeping and request any feather bedding be removed from the room. This was never done as I discovered the nexty morning. I called to advise the desk. I told them there was a stain on the side of the mattress which was exposed, The bed was terrible and apparently some type of mattress topper, prevented the sheet from covering the side of the matress. I also told the desk the room was not clean, and was assured they would do a "heavy cleaning". Though this hotel looks very nice from the outside, the room was dirty, mattress stained, carpet stained, Dust around night table, etc. When I called, Nancy, gave me 2 complimentry breakfasts which was nice. I would have much preferred a clean room and a bed that wasn't stained, and in poor shape. Had a terrible 2 nights of rest and would never recommend this hotel. October 24, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Does not live up to other Starwood properties I stay exclusively at Starwood properties - usually the W hotels. I always consume snacks and beverages from the mini bar and I always order the American breakfast to be delivered at different times in the early morning since I travel for work. So, I recently stayed at the Westin in Waltham, Mass, and I must tell you they are not representing the Starwood brand like any other hotel I have stayed. It became almost comical how inconsistent and ridiculous the service was. I tallied the following issues and thought you should know (1) so you can follow up and improve it but (2) because if I ever experience this again, I will change to another chain, which is my prior preferred hotel chain. I stayed at the Waltham Westin from 10/18-10/22. First, upon my arrival, there were absolutely ZERO snacks available in the food portion of the mini bar. I had to call to get snacks delivered. This is not only bad customer service but, worse yet, it is bad for your business. Second, I called the operator (Express) late on the 18th (or early 19th) to order the American breakfast to be delivered in the morning of the 19th by 630am - but it was never delivered. It wasn't until I called in the morning that they hurried my order. When they delivered my order, it was delivered with no hash browns. Third, on the evening of the 19th, I ordered breakfast via the door hanger and on that door hanger, I specifically requested hot sauce to be delivered with my breakfast - it was not included. Breakfast was also delivered without water. Fourth, on the evening of the 20th, I again ordered the American breakfast through the operator (Express) for morning delivery at 7am. Unfortunately, again, on the morning of the 21st I had to call because my breakfast was not delivered. They again hurried my breakfast and when they delivered it, they delivered it without sausage, which is included in the American breakfast. The server quickly ran and brought back sausage, which I appreciated. Finally, when I checked in, I was asked if I wanted as part of the Green choice program $5 food/bev voucher or star points. I was very clear I wanted star points. Unfortunately, every morning I was delivered multiple $5 food/bev vouchers despite requesting star points. So, please ensure I get star points credited to my account for each night. Again, these items (and the fact that I kept track of them, may seem petty, but I stay at Starwood because of the brand consistency and customer service. The Westin in Waltham Mass did not live up to either - and before I switch to another chain I trust you will rectify this. Regards, Jeremy October 22, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Too noisey and Staff unresponsive The bed was was against the wall of the staff elevators, which caused the headboard and bed to shake throughout the day and night. Called front desk twice to complain. First responder told me there was nothing wrong with the room, second responder said she would send someone to the room but never did. In summary, worst room and staff I have encountered in my 5yrs of being a road warrior. October 22, 2012

Rated 2 out of 5 by Going Green I was not told the "Going Green" program meant the housekeeping staff completely skips making up your room. I assumed it meant they did not change your sheets and towels, but all of the other services were the same. I was wrong. When they "skip" your room,they do not clean your bathroom or make up your bed. They do not take out the trash or replace the used in room coffee. No thank you. I was lied to by the desk staff. Rated 3 out of 5 by needs more attention Appreciate the assistance with check in but after that things were off. Alarm clock went off at 5:30am on our first night/morning Wake up call on our second morning did not come (we were headed to a wedding) Staff at the desk were very apologetic, we appreciated Liz's offer to add some SPG points to my account. She offered to schedule our next wake up call for the morning, as we had to fly out of Logan at 8 am. Very thoughtful. Again, Wakeup call never happened. We were up and out on time from our phone alarm but otherwise would have missed our flight. Again, staff at the desk was sympathetic. Please ensure staff is more careful with phone and clock settings. I would have expected a better job at the Westin. Thanks. October 16, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs improvement i stayed here because it was closer to work. However, the hotel is not as nice as other westin properties. Needs updating and does not have a concierge lounge. The gym is in a bad state, most of the machines are old or are not working properly. Looks like the maintenance is slacking in every way. October 14, 2012

You and the staff at your Weston have been the most accommodating and gracious of all the hotel staffs that I have had contact with in the 14+ years I have been in the consulting business. Every time I have contact with a staff member or get a treat in my room and/or an upgraded suite, I feel like I am the most important guest in your hotel. For the most part at other hotels I am made to feel like just so much chattel. They would do well by learning from The Weston-Waltham staff. Thank you October 11, 2012

I was greeted by an amazingly efficient, friendly and professional young lady who had looked up my SPG # for me prior to arrival; I received an incredible hand-written thank you note within hours of arrival; the room was beautiful - spotlessly clean, fresh, spacious - with everything necessary; the parking (in the adjacent garage and the valet) was very convenient, etc. etc. Easy access to highways along with all the creature comforts made this an absolutely perfect stay! Rated 4 out of 5 by Wedding Weekend Room was really nice. Hotel was clean and looked great. Parking and internet was a little expensive. When checking in for two nights we some how ended up with two one night reservations. They said it would not be an issue until the second day when the key would not work. Billing was confusing but they did eventally get it right. Since we booked a room being held from a block of rooms reserved for the wedding we were supose to be handed a "Goodie Bag" including instructions about the wedding and shuttle. Never received the "bag" and thus almost ended up missing the shuttle. We even went to the front desk and asked about the shuttle and mentioned the people getting married and they looked at us like we had three heads. When headed up to the room we ran into some people who were carring wedding presents. We asked and they were going to the same wedding. They told us about the "goodie Bags with all the info. This time we headed back to the front desk with purpose and this time someone actually remembered. The rest of our time at the hotel was fine it just started a little rocky! September 28, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by over priced, tired and poor service The hotel is "tired" and in need of a face lift. wallpapaer peeling in the bathroom, the A/C is inadequate, furnishing scratched up and in need of updating. For the prices charged and for a Westin it is not up to the standard expected. The dining room staff at first ignores you, then only offers the buffet and never the meni for breakfast and is not attentive, friendly nor anxious to assist. It is as though you are an imposition. The food quality was also sub-par at the breakfast buffett. Overall disappointed stay. September 28, 2012

The hotel was great, very friendly staff,checked us in quickly- I thought my reservation came with free parking but I booked the wrong package and they still gave me the parking half off. When I got to the room it was two double beds and my reservation was for a king bed, I called down to the desk and they immediately switched my room- with a free upgrade because the room I booked were all full. (We checked in very late-11pm) We ordered breakfast room service the next morning and though it is very pricey the food was phenomenal. I forgot my toothbrush and they sent one up in minutes. Quick drive from the hotel to Boston, was a great way to stay in a nice fairly inexpensive hotel near boston since the hotels in Boston can be expensive. The only slight negative I could say is that the bathroom needed to be upgrade-though everything was very clean so the date of the bathroom isn't really an issue. Great hotel, would definitely return! September 26, 2012
