Rated 3 out of 5 by Temperature control in room didn't work I asked them to fix it and set it to 68 degrees. I came back after work and it was set to 65 and the room was 71. That shouldn't happen April 10, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasant Stay I was very thankful for the desk clerk that answered my call in the morning. He helped me locate the hotel. It was my first time to KC and after driving around for 15 minutes I needed all the help I could get! At check-in my clerk was very friendly but I noticed some of the other clerks, not so much. A simple smile or acknowledgement is always nice. I was needing information regarding a meeting and I felt almost as a bother. Not impressed. Room service was delivered in the time given and was prepared just as I asked for. For the price, I feel the room should have been cleaner. Every light switch was black and the remote had stuff all over it. Just gross. The bottom of the tub was black. I used a towel to stand on. The shower head was amazing! Had plenty of HOT water. The room never seemed to cool off. The best part of my stay was the attendant as I left the parking garage. She was friendly and very helpful. I didn't get her name. Honestly, I left saying it was just okay but because of her it became an excellent stay. It was refreshing to come in contact with someone who truly cares about their job and their guests! Rated 4 out of 5 by Friendly Staff There were mixed feelings on my visit to Westin KC with none in the middle. Either they were superb or bombs. First the greeter at the front door and concierge were excellent. Thet were both knowedgeable and friendly. Total 10 for them. Rooms themselves were nice and clean but wished they offered cable tv like Showtime. The total misses were Room service and maintenance. Although 24hr service was proudly advertised , when trying to order, we were told that there was no cook and only cold cereal could be served. I had to get dressed and go out on my own just to get a sandwich. Next miss was maintenance. I upgraded my room for the benefit of 2 balconies but only one opened. If it was a safety issue then why was the skinny Juliet balcony the one that was access granted and not the wide safer corner one? I was told it needed the OK from management and would get back to me. They never did in 3 days. When I asked again I was told the Manager was busy. At least let me know before upgrading me for more money for a luxury with no purpose. It was those 2 things that kept me from being exited and thrilled with your hotel.
