Rated 4 out of 5 by Wedding weekend perfection This was my sisters wedding weekend!! I was hoping for a pleasant stay at the Westin S. High St., Columbus, OH. To start, I had contacted the desk, after I made my reservation, to let them know the bride would be getting ready in my room. They immediately upgraded my room to a larger room, at no fee. I didn't even ask for that. So it was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. When we arrived the valet immediately took care of our car and alerted the Bellman. We quickly checked in to a very welcoming front desk. The Bellman escorted us to our room, unloaded our luggage from his cart, explained the amenities of our room and was extremely polite. The complementary bottles of water was, a small, but a very nice touch. The king size bed was clean, well pillowed and extremely comfortable. I had an excellent night sleep. The updated shower was lovely. A wand for handheld or a large square waterfall showerhead if you prefer. We had an excellent view of the city as well. The next request I had was for a prompt refreshing of our room in the morning. I wanted the room to look fresh and clean when the bride arrived the next day. The front desk response was absolutely Mrs. SCHLATER, is 1030am acceptable. "Yes, it is and thank you for your accommodating and polite attitude." was my response !! It does cost to valet your car at the Westin Columbus, but I never had a long wait and they were very quick. If you called the front desk five minutes before you wanted to leave, your car would be waiting. To me, it was well worth it. The good experience continued throughout the weekend. I could not be more happy with our experience here. Thank you for making my sisters bridal weekend seamless and special !! Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel was disappointing The size of this "historic room" was very small especially the bathroom. The shower stall was older.The caulking around sliding shower doors needing replaced along with updating the doors. Closet was small and hangers hit the door when closed. Our room was clean. We were startled by the fire alarm at 7:15 am which apparently was a false alarm. However there was no notification from the front desk and no acknowledgement upon check out. The hotel should have a system in place to notify guests through the room phone of emergencies or false alarms to prevent wonder and possible panic. Great location to our event. Glad it was a brief stay and would not stay here again. I expected roomier accommodations from the Westin name. This was our first time to stay at a Westin hotel. October 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The hotel staff We attended a family wedding in Columbus Ohio and stayed at The Westin along with several other family members. The staff at the Westin couldn't have been more pleasant or accommodating. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely recommend The Westin to all our friends and family. Rated 2 out of 5 by Room We did not receive any extra towels other than the towels in the room once we got their for our 2 night stay. The bathroom ceiling had mold on it. One of the lights in our room didn't even work. For the price paid the room service could have been a ton better. July 13, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by This hotel is well cared for. The price we paid for a two double bed room seems high compared to other hotel/motel rooms we've stayed in during our travels. However, the hotel and our room was very clean and we'll kept. We were disappointed in how long it took to get into our room. We arrived after check-in time. But, it took 2 hours before our room was ready for us. We were given a free drink ticket for our wait. But, the bar was crowded and understaffed so it took a long time to get our drinks. We were also compensated with a free breakfast ticket due to our long wait time. The staff was apologetic and courteous. Perhaps our stay at this hotel was during an unusually busy weekend? The valet service was also extremely busy and running behind. June 20, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Recent stay Older Westin property but it's age also gives the hotel extra character. Arrived late and Al was one of the friendliest front desk agents that I have ever meet. Upon entering the room I noticed a personalized hand written note, an extra water and some local candy which was a very nice touch. However, it appeared that my room was the smallest in the hotel (I know this because the fire exit map on the door shows each room) As a Gold I never expect upgrades but I was a little surprised to get the smallest room in the entire building with no view. Oh well, I was only staying one night and the friendly staff made up for the crappy room. June 8, 2016
