Rated 5 out of 5 by Our favorite Starwood property We have stayed at the Westin Hilton Head for over 25 years. The new hotel is a great improvement, but whats even better is the staff. A great example is John Green, Director of Housekeeping. We were walking down the hall and John asked how our stay was.He was genuinely interested in our enjoyment, and proud of his hotel. John also offered us a very special treat, which we were most grateful for.We are Platinum SPG and Starwood is always our first choice in hotels. The Westin Hilton Head is an excellent example of why we are loyal. The staff is 5 star, and the hotel also gives back to the local community, especially at this time of the year. Thank you for a wonderful stay, and try the spa, its great too!! December 18, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely amazing stay! My boyfriend and I came for a one night stay just before Christmas. The short time we spent in Hilton Head was exceptional thanks to your staff. From a welcoming check-in with Krystn, being able to watch football with a bartender like Charlie who was fun and provided great service, having Matt at front desk call a car for us for our anniversary dinner off property and Randy serving us a great breakfast before leaving on our last day we left The Westin Hilton Head sad to leave such great hospitality. Our experience is what a hotel stay should be so kudos and thank you! December 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best resort on Hilton Head! This resort is outstanding! I have been staying at this resort for over 20 years and it is in the best condition that it has ever been. The recent renovations have made this resort a 5 diamond resort. They have added an outdoor bar that is absolutely amazing. The staff that are at the resort make you feel as if you are at home. Chris in the front office really cares about every guests experience he goes above and beyond to make sure every guest at the resort is having an outstanding stay. I would recommend this resort without reservation. You will have an outstanding stay! June 14, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fun in the sun & evening by the fire This hotel and location is amazing! Right on the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The pool area is gorgeous and the staff is very attentive. We went off season, so the evenings were a bit chilly... We were able to enjoy an evening by the fire under a heat-lamp poolside! The rooms are very clean and spacious! Double vanity in the bathroom was a plus ... And the balcony was very relaxing with a gorgeous view. We will definitely stay here again! And a huge plus was the on site restaurant with plenty of gluten free options. Delicious! March 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful hotel needing a few changes The Westin at Hilton Head is a gorgeous hotel along a magnificent beach. The hotel, grounds, and rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. I only have two suggestions: a) wifi needs to be easily accessible and free for all ones devices b) don't chintz out on charging a "Resort Service Charge" in addition to the fee. That should be included with the room rate or at least inform the customer at registration. April 21, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by What happened to customer service? We have come here annually for the past 4 years and this, so far, has been our worst experience. There have been changes, and not just to the decor. The front desk manager at check-in was disdainful, to the point of being rude, and singularly unhelpful. The rooms are no longer as they appear on line and we too like another guest did not have the pull out couch option for our child. I asked to have the balcony door cleaned as it was dirty to where you could not see out of it and no one ever came to clean it. Hopefully, our visit will improve from our first day. July 2, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Clanging Pipes = NO sleep Had a beautiful room facing the beach but around 3AM I was awakened by what sounded like pipe banging type noises above my room. Called down to complain---- never was addressed--- called back again--- told me no one above me--- I told them to have someone come down to listen to what I hear... someone showed up at 5AM-- letting me know it was a problem with pipe from basement and they could not fix without shutting down entire hotel water supply. Obviously NOT a good experience for me and something that must be fixed internally at the hotel January 17, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a place to stay if the weather is rainy staying in April is taking a huge chance on the weather. The outdoor dining spaces were closed most of the time. this put pressure on the limited inside eating areas. The large outdoor pool is unheated which really limited opportunities as the 2 smaller pools were kid central 9they were heated). Parking was a hassle. April 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Christmas at the Westin! I stay at this resort several times a year and have always enjoyed returning. The resort was decorated for Christmas. The decorations were tastefully done. They did an excellent job! Breakfast at the Carolinia Cafe is always enjoyable. I would recommend dinning at the resort to locals as well as guests of the resort. Every employee makes a guest really feel welcome. Chris In the front office always makes sure each and every guest has an enjoyable stay. He really cares about the details that make this an outstanding resort! January 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent bed and shower Husband and i stayed at the Hilton island Westin for a short romantic getaway just before New Years. The stay way was Great! The heavenly bed and shower were the best I've experienced (and i am a hotel snob). Had breakfast both days in the Carolina Restaurant, which was awesome (kudos for Linda for going above and beyond). It was truly a restful and quiet stay just wish we could have stayed longer, would definitely stay again. While my view was good, on my next stay i would love to experience the TRUE full oceanFRONT view. January 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just the right size resort The Westin HHI is a beautiful resort that isn't too small or too large. Grounds are easy to navigate & the beach is easy access. Some of the rules are a bit too stringent like not allowing coolers on the deck. Who wants to lug all that stuff back to the room before being able to enjoy the pool? I recommend getting the breakfast included as it is a great value and wonderful service. For those traveling with pets, bring your own pick up bags & flashlight as the relief area does not provide bags or good lighting at night.. Lastly, in spite of the false fire alarm on 9/9/13-we would go back. Watch out for the Love Bugs in Sept. which are a huge annoyance poolside. Good vacation and very nice place. Self Parking underground is the way to go, tricky to find though. September 17, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Conference stay The hotel was great for a conference due to being the right size. It was big enough for being interesting, but small enough walking was kept to a minimum. I was surprized that for the first time ever a request to have a 1/2 hour or 1 hour delayed check out was denied. A hotel this size and quality, in the off seaon should easily be able to swing a later check out. April 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Customer Service My wife and I arrived for a 4 night getaway for our 10th wedding anniversary. Upon checkin our front desk clerk, David, was warm and cheerful and inquired about what brought us there. We told him and didn't think about it afterwards until we arrived back from dinner later that night to find a handwritten card from him and a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Talk about seeking out an opportunity to serve.. Our beach view room was great and the newly remodeled pool area and decks are fabulous. May 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Delightful stay but too short! Excellent resort and one of the nicest ocean/pool combinations with spectacular views, ample relaxation areas and very friendly staff! We came from the Masters tournament earlier in the week and only had two nights which was not enough to experience your golf course and all of the resort amenities. Can't wait to return! Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Family Vacation and Westin Experience Just returned from a week long stay at the Westin Hilton Head with my wife and 2 children. The overall service of the staff at the hotel was exceptional. They immediately recognized my SPG status upon check-in and were eager assist with an upgrade. The resort just went through a major renovation and the rooms were great. There were a few areas in the public spaces that were either skipped over or already showing signs of wear that were noticeable. The overall experience was great and I will be returning next year. Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice hotel, on the beach! Great staff!!! My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The rooms are really nice. Bed was very comfortable. We had Sunday breakfast buffet and dinner at the Restaurant, the food was good. Daniella and John from housekeeping, were both very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed! We got a great deal, using Starpoints! Rated 4 out of 5 by $150 fee to bring your dog! Westin does not reveal this on thier site. This hotel is as every bit what aa westin is, heavenly bed, smells nice, but not dog friendly as website indicates. I should have called, but boy was i surprised when i checked in for a 2 night say and told id be paying $150 extra to allow my 12 lb dog to stay. In addition the also charged anither $20 resort fee per night, that the front desk failed to mention. When I called and asked what is this, I found out there was a free shuttle, newspaper, free calls, and internet service included in that nightly fee. Maybe westin can put the amount of dog fee on the web and train the snootty girls at front desk how to talk to guests on how to enjoy the stay a bit better! Funny the extra charges ( $190 ) were more than my 2 total nights stay. Bring lysol wipes for room handles they were all pretty dirty. January 22, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Enjoyed the stay except for front desk incident Everything was enjoyable except for the fact that my key stopped working at 12 PM instead of 3 PM on the day of checkout. When I went to the front desk to have the key updated the attendant had an attitude and said checkout was at noon so I showed her the email on my iPhone declaring extended checkout and then she updated the key. The person was not Jenn but another girl with blonde hair working that day 12/8 around 1245 PM. Your system should reflect what the email states to avoid this in the future. December 9, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not clean Room not kept clean, hallways cluttered. Saw room service dishes sit in hallway for over 24 hours. They missed cleaning the room, when we called to have it done it was done very poorly. Upon leaving, refused to let us use a luggage cart, so we had to hand carry everything to the lobby. Spent almost $3k there, not worth the money. April 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great family vacation The hotel staff was great. Scott checked us in and made us feel welcome. This was a great SPG rewards stay. The pools were a bit crowded but the hotel is located right on a great beach where the hotel provided life guards. We weren't too satisfied with the hotel restaurant but Hilton Head has a ton to offer. There is a Walmart and Costco nearby. The breakfast buffet was the best we've seen in a long time. The staff is very friendly and there is plenty of fresh fruit. We would love to revisit this resort. September 28, 2013
