We checked in to the Westin at the Galleria in Dallas on Monday 5 Jan. My wife asked for a possible room upgrade because of our Gold status. She was told that no rooms were available. After showing the staff rooms were available on the internet she was then told that upgrades were only available for an additional fee. That is not an upgrade! That is paying for a more expensive room. When we pressed the staff on what the benefits showed on the internet we were told upgrades were only for Platinum members. After a call to the SPG they agreed with us and called the hotel and talked to Jessica Weisel , the night manager. The first person at SPG told us the manager has refused to upgrade because we didn’t understand the rules. We were changed to someone at the Corporate SPG and they also agreed with us. Another call to the manager was met with the same result. The Corporate SPG person said there was nothing she could do if Jessica refused. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 15 years and NEVER had a problem until encountering Jessica Weisel. I feel let down by SPG and am angry at the rudeness of Jessica Weisel. I will have trouble ever giving the Westin my business again. As you can see on many internet sites this is not an isolated event for us. Look a couple of reviews ago.

Worst Starwood stay ever. I had the displeasure of being checked in by Michael Traux who was continually distracted by the buzzing of his new Iphone 6+. I can only wish he was as attentive to my needs as his new toy. When I asked about upgraded accommodations he indicated there were none. I asked if I could have access to the lounge. He repeatedly told me this was reserved for platinum members only. Maybe so but I have always been allowed access in lieu of an upgrade. I earn 250K+ Starwood points a year; 23 Stays YTD and 39 Nights YTD. Nice customer service Michael. Review posted on every travel site I could think of; last stay here.

The hotel lobby was magnificent however the room was just okay. The furniture was dusty and phone had sticky stains on it. I have stayed at other starwood properties with better service. Parking/valet attendants were rude. The bar downstairs is nice but bartenders don't seem knowledgeable on drink choices. The only really good thing is the hotel's close proximity to shopping. I found the entire experience to not meet the 4.5 star rating standard.

this is my most favorite hotel in the world. Since my daughter attends SMU, I have stayed here many times and gotten to know the staff. Everyone is so nice and they make me feel at home.
Being spg member and being taken care of in the morning and afternoon at the spg lounge is my favorite time

I have traveled all over the world and stayed at some of the best hotels. The Westin Galleria Dallas was, by far, one of my favorites. The facilities were clean and refreshing. The staff was superb. One morning I woke up and wanted something cold to drink. I went downstairs and asked the desk attendant, Ashley, if they had a vending machine nearby. She said they did not. Too my surprise, she voluntarily gave me two of her own Cokes. I offered to pay her, but she refused to accept the money. I have never experienced such genuine hospitality. Thanks again, and I look forward to staying there again in the future!

Truly enjoyed my stay at the Westin Dallas Galleria! The hotel lobby directly opens into the best mall in Dallas! Shopping, Entertainment and Great Food are right at your footsteps! I was traveling for business and it was in close proximity to all the retail headquarters that I needed to visit. As I am in the business of fashion, it was great to be able to visit stores within the mall to see the latest trends and people watching without having to make an extra trip!
No need to question the comfort of the hotel - it's a Westin, so it's a given that the staff was friendly and my sleep was Heavenly!

We had a wonderful stay at the Westin Galleria. The room was comfortable & clean and that is ALWAYS my main concern. There was one tiny problem though. Our door really didn't fit tight. You could almost see out into the hallway down the side of the door. This let the sound of loud talking, self important, inconsiderate guests (did I leave anyone out?) to travel into our room unabated. It troubled me and woke me up at night. If that door had fit properly and tight I don't think the noise would have been so bothersome. Other than that, everything was GREAT!
