Called down to the valet just like I was told to do. Got down stairs 15 mins later and the man did not have my request. Had several trying to get out that morning at 6:30 am and this almost made us late. Man handling the valet was awesome tho. Hotel should staff better when big groups come in.

First attendant didn't check is in properly. Keys didn't work. Went back to desk to check in second time. The valet and doormen stood and watched my wheelchair bound 12 year old daughter struggle with a door. The room had used soap and shampoo in the room.

Stayed in room near elevator so earplugs were a must. Room was huge, shower was nice. Closet area could use a light. My issue was the food. I ordered the green tea salmon and specified medium rare. What arrived was a brick of fish that even my cat would snub. For $37 including multiple fees!

Have stayed here many times - never disappointed - do not like new elevator system - thought the elevators were incredibly slow - bathroom needed updating - bed very comfortable - room large and clean - staff competent - love the convenience of being in the Galleria - will definitely return -

1. The internet bandwidth we very unsatisfactory. I use SKYPE a lot during travel and the calls will drop off all the time. Had to use my MIFI device.
2. Room fridge didn't cool at all even at the highest setting
3. Bathroom in the gym was stinky; made workout intolerable

Fitness room was closed which was disappointing. Were able to use other location however not as convenient. Also workout clothes availability was limited. Never received my "new" socks as advertised.
No bathrobe in room. When asked for one was told they would send one up. Never arrived.

Room had a moldy smell.
Ice maker did not work on floor 13.
TV did not work in fitness room and the Eliptical trainer did not work. I didn't expect
to see or have so many issues at a Westin.
I did call the office. They insisted on paying
for breakfast, but only paid 40% of the bill.

They have been having issues with the hot water. A note was under the door stating they would be repairing the system during the overnight hours. Come morning, no hot water. I guess you can say the stay was refreshing; a cold shower first thing in the morning is sure to wake you up.

The hotel sells itself being centrally located in a great part of town but the rooms are a bit old, especially the wash rooms. In addition the business center was very disappointing. As a platinum member, I should not have to pay $15 to print a couple of B&W pages.

I had a good stay at the Westin. The room was very nice and clean. My TV didn't work but the staff waited until I left the room the next day and replaced it. It was a little frustrating but it got fixed! Loved the location.

The stay was great but for a one night stay it was $300 and I m sure I didn't get my money worth. I could have stayed at other hotels for half that price and had breakfast for free. It was my first time to stay there and I font think I'll stay again for that price.

The hotel was excellent! It was close to restaurants, shopping, and provided everything we needed.
The view at night from our room was great! The size of the room was great!!

There was a cold front in Houston during my stay and the hotel AC system had difficulty keeping the guest rooms warm. To add to the problem, the windows allowed the outside cold air to enter. Also problems with the hot water supply, which is compounded in a cold room!

Stayed at the Westin Oaks from 4/22 to 4/25/12 for a training and loved everything about the hotel,staff and service. Gym, pool, fridge available in room. Signed up as Starwood Preferred guest previously and was treated as 'preferred'. Highly recommend this hotel!

While this hotel is located in an excellent location and service and room quality is above expectations, I find it extremely irritating that a fee is charged for Internet access, while most lower quality and lower priced hotel offer Internet access at no charge.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff was excellent. I'm from Austin,TX. I visit our local Westin often. I was astounded at Houston Westin food and drink prices. $12 for a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. So much more, but l leave it there. Reassess.

I always select the Westin Oaks for my conference stays while in Houston. I was pleasantly surprised this time by the updates the hotel had done since my last visit.
The room was great - very comfortable. Will be back.

There is often a problem with toilets not working great. Tub drains don't work properly. For people who take baths and not showers this is important.
Had a problem on the last visit with the tub. Faucet totally broken off the wall. It was replaced quickly.

I was renting rooms for 5 of my associates. It was their first time traveling for work and I was expecting things to go flawlessly, that's why we booked with the Westin. When they arrived, they were greeted with funds needed, even though the paperwork was submitted to Westin's finance team to charge my card. The associate who was checking in my team was new and a fellow team member came to help assist. Their assistance, was short tempered and made my team feel scolded not welcomed. My team entered their rooms to find a cockroach, when calling the front desk they were moved rooms. When entering the second room, they had issues with the bathroom door and lighting in the bathroom. Again maintenance was called, when maintenance arrived, the attitude was not of helpful, but of annoyance. This was not the experience that I wanted for my teams first travel. I even contemplated removing my team entirely and putting them in another hotel. Needless to say, I would seriously think twice before booking with Westin, especially Westin Oaks again.

I liked the fact that the employees always addressed me by name. It felt personal. When I requested an extra bar of soap the house keeping worker hesitated be for giving me one. I had to ask several times before she complied.

We rented a consular suite for a getaway night. Although there was ample room, there wasn't even a minibar. We requested one from the front desk and it never arrived. The front desk girl had a very bad attitude when we complained.

I booked a King Size room at this hotel. When i showed up they only had a room with 2 queen size beds. There was nothing in the mini bar. No drinks or snacks, yet they had the price list in the mini bar. The other amenities were very chintzy.

I found the hotel perfectly loated in the Gallaria, but the room lacked a certain refinement I have come to expect of the SPG brand. The beverages were missing from the refrigerator, the room was sparsely decorated. I appreciated the staff.

We had brunch at the White Oak Kitchen and the food was great, but the service was horrible. It took 20mins for our table to get coffee. we didn't exit until 2hrs later. This caused us to be behind in our activies for the rest of the day.

The Westin Oaks is comfortable yet businesslike. Being attached to the Houston Galleria provides plenty to do and many dining options with a quick walk back to what was a very quiet and comfortable room. Thanks for a nice stay.
