Quite possibly the best hotel I've ever had the pleasure to stay at, among hundreds. Superlative staff are sharp, friendly, ultraprofessional. Can't say enough. Property is impeccably maintained and in a very nice part of the city. As a lifetime platinum member I was disappointed that I wasn't upgraded to a suite, but it didn't matter at all. The room was spacious and luxurious. Great lounge, too. I only hope word doesn't spread too far about this place as it's reasonably priced and I'd really like to stay again as soon as I'm able.

Rated 4 out of 5 by caduceus Comfortable classy hotel with good transport links
I have been patronizing the Westin Tokyo since 2008. In fact, I am writing this review during one of my stays right now!
What keeps me coming back is that this hotel is well-connected, with the JR Ebisu station on the famed Yamanote circle line within walking distance. The only setback is that the route to the station is not covered all the way, so be prepared to get wet if it rains.
The decor of the hotel is neo-classical. While it initially struck me as ostentatious, it soon becomes evident that it suits the image the hotel is trying to project.
Breakfast options abound for the SPG Platinum guest. For example, I could choose between the Exec Lounge or the Terrace (even Mai on SUNDAYs). For a better spread, I'd advise you to have breakfast at the Terrace.
The standard of English spoken by the staff can be improved. But I find this to be true for the rest of the Starwood properties in Tokyo. In their defence, the staff does try their very best in spite of the language barrier.
The Westin Workout gym is passable, as there is a reasonable mix of cardio and resistance machines. There used to be complimentary access to the nearby Grancise gym (accessible via underground passage)...this well-equipped gym has a swimming pool as well! Unfortunately, I have since learned that the complimentary Grancise access has ceased earlier this year and guests will have to fork Y2500 per guest per access. Since the hotel has now lost their free swimming pool access, I cannot award it a 5* rating anymore.
As a SPG Platinum guest, I was fortunate to be upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite MOST of the time. I feel that this hotel genuinely honours and rewards their loyal Platinum guests! Another reason for my continued patronage. The suite is reasonable sized, and comfortable. The standard Westin bathroom amenities apply, including the "space-age" bidets. The Westin Heavenly bed will deliver a most comfortable sleep experience ... be sure to set your alarm so that you do not miss breakfast.
The pricing in the hotel restaurants are indeed rather steep. But I suppose that is in tandem with what other hotels in their class are charging. Tokyo is not a cheap city by any means. A price comparison on the SPG website will reveal that the Westin Tokyo is not the most expensive hotel in Tokyo anymore.
In summary, the Westin Hotel is a comfortable and classy hotel with good transport links. Plus it rewards the SPG Platinum guests :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by JADO Avoid this hotel at any cost
The Westin tokyo is an old hotel, busy, super crowded and overpriced for what you get. It's a shame nobody complains and think is normal paying that money for nothing in return. The staff has a poor English, come on, they should at least speaks good English when most of their customers are foreigners. The club lounge, is a shame, terrible poor quality of the facilities and food. The gym is another joke and as Japanese are snobbish they call it "spa Parisian" what a shame. It's like staying in a "luxury cruise " of the '80s without that vibrant energy anyways. A kid it at any cost

Rated 5 out of 5 by jdvivre Great hotel in Tokyo!
Been staying at this hotel for years and it is still a class act. Staff is extremely professional and courteous. Smiles all around. Manager Asa helped us with wonderful dinner recommendations and reservations. Housekeeping did a thorough job every day and the room and bathroom are both spotless. Location of the hotel can't be beat. 10-min walk to Ebisu station wtih both the JR Yamanote line and Metro Hibiya line, which gets you Roppongi in 2 stops and Shibuya in 1 stop. Shinjuku is not far either and no transfer required. The Ebisu Garden Place is a tranquil area connected to the hotel. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jsn830 staffs are very friendly and helpful
Every staffs here are very willing to offer assistance to their guests. Also I love the coffee machine available in my room instead of putting instant coffee pack. It allowed me to make a cup of coffee or two and start my day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by saguarogirl Westin quality in more areas
I've stayed here for a total of 30 days in the last 6 months, while on business in Tokyo. The staff is the reason I return, they are all so friendly and helpful. The rooms have tons of space, are always clean and certainly reflect Westin standards. The decor is odd and outdated compared to a lot of Westins but that just my opinion as a young American.
The restaurants are the reason I will probably not return. The food in every single restaurant of this hotel is overpriced and disappointing. I love the Ebisu area, and luckily there are a lot of amazing options for food nearby...but after a really long day at work I don't always want to go out. Also just a quick warning to business travelers who are short on time in the morning, the breakfast buffet is not quick or convenient. I generally waited about 10 minutes for plain black coffee each morning...sometimes I even finished my breakfast before it arrived.
