Rated 5 out of 5 by Back again I spent a day here again, after my first stay in 2011. Not much changed! Front desk is still kind and professional, warm welcome at check in! SPG recognition still good, got a room with ocean view! That was nice! Room is still the same, bed is great, bathroom also. This time much closer to the elevator. Only problem in the room is the TV! You should replace them with new, modern flat ones. You can only watch it when you are in the bed opposite to it, if you are trying to watch it from anywhere else, for example from sofa, you can't, because you can not open wide (180-270 degrees) enough the cabinet's two doors (just only 90 degrees) where the TV is placed. The ocean view from the balcony is great! But balcony has to renew (painting and changing of tiles needed). This time had more time so I ate breakfast. Many food to choose from, tasty, I can recommend to try! After relaxing in the sauna, I took a walk to the pool. I was disappointed seeing these walls surrounding the passage way. I think the hotel needs an urgent repainting!!! Now, that SPG has another hotel in Macau, you should have done this already, so come on...nice looking walls are just essential!! And if I remember well, one plastic chair in the steam room is broken, urgent replacement needed! Overall, I enjoyed my stay but the above mentioned things made less memorable! Hope, if I have the possibility to come back, all the renewal jobs will be done!! It makes a huge difference!! May 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Had a wonderful stay Where should i begin? The location of the hotel was the reason why i chose Westin Macau, I like being away from the city, near the beach and mountains, just keeps me relax and stress free, although it was far from the city life (Casino and night life) My boyfriend and i manage to just take the shuttle bus to go out and see the night life of Macau. The only problem we had was that it was a little complicated to find the shuttle bus stops to get back to the hotel, but we managed. (After 15-20mins looking for it) The Hotel Services & staff were amazing!! A few days before we check in, i had a few complications with my reservation since it was my friend that paid for my stay (She thought it would be nice for me to have a break from work) had a few chats with a few different staff of the hotel, but Mr Chuck helped me with all the questions and inquires that i had with my reservation and everything was set for my arrival. One that day, we were running late from Hong Kong and i forgot to buy my smokes and the reception manager, Chuck was kind enough to send one of his staff to get one for me, it was really kind and sweet of them to do so. The staff at the hotel was so friendly and helpful, i really enjoy having a little chat with them at the reception. Room services were quicker then my other experience in other hotels which i was really pleased. The room: We just hang out at the balcony since that was where we can smoke and enjoy our cup of tea and hot chocolate, the weather was a little cloudy with a few rain but if it was a clear sky i could imagine a really beautiful night view with stars. The bed was really comfortable while watching a little TV, not much to watch and the TV was kinda old school, the bed was really clean and it was big enough to fit another person. The cleanliness of the room i would give it 4/5, we did find a few spots on the floor near the sliding door to the balcony i guess it was because of all the rain that might have cost it. The Shower and bath tub was really relaxing, but may i suggest to get a bigger bath tub? Im 5'7 and it kinda feel alittle short for me. The Balcony was really relaxing for me when i got up the next morning, that morning was a sunny day, it was a lovely morning to wake up to, had my hot tea outside while enjoying the sunlight, and that was when i notice what the other comments mention that the wall needs repainting, and of course i would agree but it did not really bothered me as much, all i can think of was the beach view. Internet: Ok, there were no Wifi in the room but for me it did not really matter, if you were in my position where you just want to relax and not worry about work, no wifi was actually a good thing. But if you really need to have wifi, just go to the lobby, they have free wifi there. On the other hand, just bring your laptop and get the in-room internet. Although i did not get to try the swimming pool or the spa or the food at the hotel, but i am looking forward for my next trip back. May 14, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Old Hotel with Terrible Service Westin Macau. - Very secluded and difficulty to find - Front desk was not accommodating and didn't provide free breakfast for our party of 3 even when Sheraton did - Breakfast was poor quality compared to other hotels nearby - Pool was cracked and had mold - Water in the hotel had a moldy taste (I think it's old) - Did not accommodate our change of stay even though hotel was clearly empty - Old carpets - No flat screen TV - Needs a definite remodel or change of management November 8, 2011

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unhappy Stay Due to Poor Customer Service This is the second time I posted this comment in this wall. The hotel try to delete my negative comment from this wall. It is really disgusting to try to delete negative truth about the hotel : I just stayed in Westin Macau on 27/April till 28/April/2013 for one night with my family. I am a Starwood preferred guest and love to stay with hotels of this group. That's why I join their loyalty membership club. However, my stay with Westin Macau TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED me!!! My disappointment due to the following points: 1) The room was old and the room carpet smell not good when we first entered the room. It was definitely due to the aged room and the old public swimming pool need urgent renovation. 2)This time I chose to book through the Hotelclub. I used hotel booking website often and I was used and will usually send another email to the hotel directly to illustrated my room request . It was my usual practice when I traveled to many places of the world. I had sent my email TWICE to the hotel directly to mention my room request and ask some inquiry. I got NO REPLY so far even I sent a complaint email to the central administration. It is totally an unacceptable customer service standard of a so called "Five Star" hotel. 3) I asked the housekeeping to give me extra quilt due to the windy weather. However, there is not quilt sent to my room until I called the receptionist AGAIN to chase. 4) When I am checking out. I asked the receptionist to exchange the Macao dollar to Hong Kong dollar for me. Foreign exchange is a very basic customer service for a Five Star hotel. However, the receptionist refused to do so. He told me that there is the "Hotel Policy" that they will not exchange Macau dollar to Hong Kong dollar to the tourists even I gave him Macau note. I was very angry and I debate with him about the foreign exchange is a very basic customer service of a five star hotel. After a long debate I got part of my exchange service but I was totally upset by the poor attitude of the male receptionist. Even Hong Kong people often visit Macau. I will never never never want to stay with the Westin Macau again. Macau tourist business developed very fast. Many new hotels asking for similar price but with much better and new facilities for the tourist to chose. Why chose Westin Macau!!! May 2, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Waste of vacation time Nothing to compare with Thai or Bali Starwood resorts except prices ( As Platinum I was " upgraded" to rooms 518&519@Ocean wing. Rooms located so far that you must be in good fit to walk there from lift lobby. Received "welcome" half-bottle (0.375l) of wine with cork but without corkscrew, no corkscrew at minibar too. Called "service express", they promised send room service to open the bottle. Waited for 40 mins. Nobody came. Called again to cancel as wanted go sleep. Light excuses Flashed the toilet at night (my mistake) - water didn't stop after flashing for 20 mins. Spent 10 mins jerking flash handle to stop it. During night need to wait for hot water 10+ mins as rooms are too far from water heater obviously. Don't waste your precious vacation time on this so-called "resort". Go Hainan SPG properties or SouthEast Asia October 23, 2011
