Rated 5 out of 5 by supatight80 WOW! Excellent Service from ALL their front liners!
Wasn't upgraded to their best available room including standard suites even though it showed online there were suites available.
Having said that....I will ALWAYS love this property because the front desk staffs are so wonderful, polite, accommodating, hospitable, and they TRULY know what customer service is all about!
I am simply amazed on how professional they are, especially Front Desk Supervisor Rosario and 2 other front desk ladies (I gave them each a platinum appreciation card).
I am still at awe on how wonderful they treated me as a guest...Seems like the answer "no" is never on their vocabulary.
Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic staffs! I have been to over 50 countries and stayed at numerous starwood properties worldwide, I would say they are in the top 3 when it comes to customer service and hospitality. LUVS IT!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Liripo Did not honor my reservation and let me by my own
I want you guys to understand the impact in my business trip for this inconvenience:
•After long flight I arrived to Westin Guatemala to find out that my reservation was canceled because the hotel was overbooked!!!!
• Westin Guatemala Manager ensured me that I had a reservation on the Vista Real Hotel, which was not true as at the time I arrive to the Vista Real Hotel there was no reservation on my name.
• The manager of the Vista Real understood my situation and was kind enough to get me a room and the rate was more than 100USD per night above what I was planning to pay.
• This Vista Real Hotel is around 25 to 40 minutes away from the Westin, where I had my meetings
• I had to wake up one hour earlier, and pay 20 USD each way from Vista Real to Westin (around 40 USD per day)
• All the stress after arriving to the Westin and finding why my reservation was cancelled. This happened at 1:00 am after long flight.
These are the more significant impacts that seams no one consider at the time my reservation got canceled, including the Westin Guatemala Manager who told me…. “I just got in the hotel and I did not cancel your reservation, was tha manager working in the morning….” Did not take accountability for the Westin.

Rated 2 out of 5 by PrettyDissatisfied Fix the card reader system!
I had been looking forward to staying at the Camino Real in Guatemala and found the room and food to be of the high quality I expected. Every staff member I met was courteous, as I expected, until I had to wrestle with the card reader system every single day of my 4-night stay. On average it took between 5 and 8 attempts to get card readers to work on the elevator and my room. I wasn't surprised when the entire crew of an airliner returned to the reception desk with the same complaint. The reaction at the reception desk was a we are sorry and a shrug. Frankly it was a pretty poor experience that I had never anticipated in a Westin Hotel.

Rated 2 out of 5 by 3chucks Platinum??? Really?????
We stayed at the Westin Camino Real for two nights last year, one at the beginning and one at the end of our visit to Guatemala. Our stay was fine so we repeated our stays this year. We arrived very late on Feb. 27 with reservation in hand. We had requested a king bed and were given a small double bed. The implied reason for this ws that we had not made our reservation enough in advance, tho we made it 5 weeks earlier. On our second night at the Westin, we did receive a king size bed, but the room air conditioned just made a loud and distrubing rattling sound when operating. It did not cool the room. We did not have these negative experiences last year and, based on our experiences, feel that this hotel has slipped from the high standands associated with Westin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BlissSeeker The Marble Palace
On a recent business trip, we enjoyed a brief, 2-day stay at the Westin Camino Real hotel. The exquisite domed reception area is awe-inspiring in its elaborate European design. Some might find it a bit intimidating; however, coupled with the beautiful marble surroundings, the decor in this hotel reflects a formal, yet inviting ambiance.
The breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant, El Cafetal, was ample and delicious. At dinner, we especially enjoyed the traditional Guatemalan dish, Pepian, which was simply the best! This hotel is centrally located and close to the airport, as well. The room was comfortable, and the bath fixtures new and modern, although the space was limited.

I've been staying there every time when I am traveling to Guatemala. They really care of SPG Platinum guests - nice staff and spacious rooms for SPG. I like also the gym.

Next room neighbor smoking all night long. Security did not do anything
Check out took 20 min per person

One of the worst experiences.
