That when I knew I was coming back to Guatemala city, I booked it again. The gym and pool area is excellent. The staff is friendly and professional, they greet you by name when you arrive and no task is too small for them.
This was my first Westin experience and it has left me wanting more!

Hotel is suitable for business or leisure travellers. Staff meet all my needs including tour options. Restaurant was very good for breakfast. Good pool area but hot tub was not hot. Wonderful massage. Exercise area was better than those of most hotels.

Every staff person greeted me with a smile and treated me like a member of their family. When I felt ill they even sent someone to the drugstore for something that would help relieve my symptoms and a nice young lady brought me some herbal tea.

I've been staying there every time when I am traveling to Guatemala. They really care of SPG Platinum guests - nice staff and spacious rooms for SPG. I like also the gym.
Rated 4 out of 5 by spg1985 ELEGANT HOTEL, MINOR GLITCHES!
This hotel is suppose to be the nicest property in Guatemala... and IT IS!!! The place is wonderful, excellent amenities, room service is amazing. The Italian restaurant that is attached to the hotel has excellent food and everyone is very polite at the resort. The concierge is professional and she can get you great deals if you would like to look around. One thing that made me give only 4 star for this resort is that not many people speak English. If you speak Spanish, you are set with ALL EMPLOYEES, but not all front desk people speak English and that was a bit weird...
Rated 4 out of 5 by Etan88 Good location and friendly staff
Good location and friendly staff. I was impressed by the front desk address my last name when im doing the check out even before I showed him my room key.
Although he is the same guy helping me to do the check in but still Im so impressed by this.
Furniture was a bit of outdated,so make the room felt a bit rusty.
eg- when you can watch tv while you stay at your working desk.
other than that, everything is great.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Americastraveler Good but not excellent
Some days it was hard to sleep. I was on the 6th floor and construction was going on in the 7th floor, making it hard to take a day nap after a day's work. Although, they did inform me of this upon checking in, I think they could have placed me in a different room further away from the noise. Speaking of rooms, I was given the room on the corner, next to the stairwell. Well, needless to say I heard constant noise from the door shutting each time the housekeepers used this particular stairwell. My oversize showerhead was not working properly as cold water would gush from the top wetting my dry towels on the rack. I complained twice and it never got fixed (mind you I stayed 9 nights). Also, I did not like that I did not get free water. At least 2 complimentary water bottles for 9 night stay are not too much to ask for right? Well I was told "no". I could not find the outlet by my bed/night stand thus I had to charge my phone at the desk. I personally like to have my cell phone on the night stand while charging at night. On the plus side, the staff are very friendly, specifically Vilma who went out of her way to help us locate a massage parlor. The breakfast was also very good with local flavors such as the spicy mix and ranchero sauce to name a few. The lobby area is very beautiful so are the rooms. This isn’t a bad hotel, but it isn’t excellent either. Next time I travel to Guatemala I think I will try the competitors to compare the differences. I really think this hotel is just a tweak away from earning an excellent rating!
Rated 3 out of 5 by DavidandJon Platinum benefits not really
We booked out stay at the westin camino real on Friday for a quick weekend trip from Houston. The place overall is beautiful and the place is well kept. We do want to add a few concerns. When we checked in we asked about an upgraded room. They said they upgraded us to a remodeled floor and gave us access to the executive lounge. We got to the room and called the front desk as we saw they had suites available online. They were able to upgrade us to the 6th floor which was a nice suite. Really don't understand how an upgrade is access to the executive lounge as this is always included as a platinum. Why do we need to waste time when this should of been handled at the front desk from the beginning? Oh another thing they couldn't find out reservation either glad we had the email associated with the reservation. Not offering complimentary water wasn't refreshing as a Westin brand this was not a benefit to their platinums nor in the exec lounge. What is the deal with this? Unheard of!!! They said the owner of the property doesn't allow and they said they get numerous comments about this. We were very surprised as even the staff said there was a charge. Not very Westin and in a country that doesn't have purified water bad impression. The cost of water at $2.75 is not the point the consistency in the brand is what should be. If not going to offer than post this on the website so people like me can choose other places to stay.
