Rated 1 out of 5 by Stay away! Very horrible stay. Teachers convention were given the room across the hall as well as the hallway to spend public money on the open improvised bar and ability to annoy all other guests on the floor. Repeated complaints were met with no results. After midnight we were promised a "great room away from all noise" I wish. After no sleep we got up to the water system all boiling hot, and I do mean the cold water too. The toilet was a sauna and we had to use bottled water to brush our teeth. No apology from anyone but the server in the restaurant. Would have been better to sleep in our vehicle. May 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worst Westin I've stayed at. From the moment we arrived, our stay at the Westin was a disaster. 1. No help offered to unload the vehicle or assist with taking our bags to the room. 2. TV in room did not work - had to change rooms. 3. No concierge desk. 4. Had to request three times for milk and tea to be brought to the room. 5. One of the phones in the room did not work. 6. When we changed rooms we could not connect to the Internet. 7. The heating system was extremely loud. Every time it came on it would wake me up at night when sleeping. 8. When we changed rooms it took two changes of room keys to get ones that worked. May 3, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrific Experience I am a SPG Platinum member and stay at this hotel frequently---39 nights in 2012 alone. This last stay over the May long weekend was one of the worst stays I have encountered. First off, the hotel A/C was broken so the entire stay---in the room, in the meeting rooms and other areas---was extremely hot and very uncomfortable. I awoke Saturday morning at 5 am to the sound of pipes groaning all around me. I had no idea what the noises were but they kept groaning. I found out what it was at 7:30am as I attempted to shower. My pipes made the same noise. I had no water! I can't say I was surprised---this was a concern a few months ago when, over about a 8 stay period, I had no hot water 5 times. They assured me the problem was behind them. Other delegates at the meeting had no cold water but rather scalding hot water---at least they had water. The restaurant and valet are painfully understaffed---they only have 1 valet on after 11pm so if you need your car, be prepared to wait a long time if a couple of people need it at the same time. The food is vastly overpriced---there are better and more options cost effective options, especially for the casual diner---within a 2 minute walk. It doesn't appear that the management actually cares about the situation because others have complained before without anything being done. Many of the delegates left with the same opinion---the hotel has gone downhill, there is little effort to improve and it is time to look at other options. May 21, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Best hotel for the price Hotel is in an excellent area for business travelers. The service is great at the front desk and bar dining. I always have a good experience May 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Westin Comfort The Westin is in a great location. Staff and amenities were excellent. I was impressed with the option to call housekeeping when I needed, as opposed to the usual refreshing of linens daily. Good for the environment. I would definitely stay again. May 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Hotel - Wonderful People... Much thanks again to the people at the Westin - Edmonton. Just had the most wonderful stay,,, again.... I appreciate the consistent experience at this downtown hotel. My colleagues and I feel so welcomed - from the check in, breakfast with my favorite servers (thanks Megan!)... and great drinks and meals in the bar area each evening. Special shout out to Jenielle and Curtis for the dinner and drinks this evening. I know we ordered some 'off the menu' items -- and you all delivered our meals as requested, and with a heart-warming smile. Finally - Thanks Nella,,, you're such a great friend and concierge. We don't know what we'd do without you!!! See you all in 2 weeks! March 6, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Parking is horrible We were travelling with a small infant and the parking was great upon checkin. Later that night we couldn't get into the parkade and were told to go to the back lot - we had no idea where that was. After several phone calls to the front desk we ended up at the front of the hotel and were told to park across the street. Super frustrating with an infant! May 12, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great food and staff The food and staff were absolutely great, but the comfort of the bed was horrible. I need a softer mattress and the king size bed we slep in was hard as a rock. May 13, 2013
