This Westin property needs a renovation badly. The rooms are poorly laid out, outdated and bathrooms small & inefficient. Beds were comfortable which was the highlight. Restaurant and so called lounge was outdated and unwelcoming. Lobby furniture worn and tattered. Service mediocre. Paying extra for wifi? Who does that in 2013?
Overall felt like a much lower level brand than what we'd expect from a Westin. I will definitely be looking for another property to patronize in downtown Edmonton until this one gets a major overhaul.

Much thanks again to the people at the Westin - Edmonton. Just had the most wonderful stay,,, again....
I appreciate the consistent experience at this downtown hotel. My colleagues and I feel so welcomed - from the check in, breakfast with my favorite servers (thanks Megan!)... and great drinks and meals in the bar area each evening. Special shout out to Jenielle and Curtis for the dinner and drinks this evening. I know we ordered some 'off the menu' items -- and you all delivered our meals as requested, and with a heart-warming smile.
Finally - Thanks Nella,,, you're such a great friend and concierge. We don't know what we'd do without you!!!

This is not the service I expect from the Westin! My confirmation was questioned as I checked in late. This was to be a special night for me and my wife as I am always on the road and this time she joined me. My room was given away as you were busy that night. Then I was told that we did not make a request for the Deluxe room. I was very disappointed.. I was eventually given a room with the tread mill in it. Hardly a special night out!
ATA does lots of business with you and I love the hotel and staff. This was just not good.
When leaving I was informed that my (Brand New) truck was damaged by valet parking!
I am sure things will be taken care of but it is the time to do it that is the issue for me. I do not have the time!
The special evening with my wife cannot be replaced.
Tough call for you guys…please get it right next time. As stated earlier…I do like your staff and hotel and have not had to deal with this for all the times I have stayed with you.
Looking forward to a much better experience next time.

My main concern was the fact that we couldn't watch a movie on the on demand movie channels
The picture was so bad we couldn't watch it and eventually it just went off. We asked to have it looked at, but was told that is just the way the movie channels are and that it couldn't be fixed. That was the maintenance man that told us that. The front desk was surprised to here this story. Nevertheless, I had to request 3 times before someone came and looked at the TV only to give me that news. Why couldn't the front desk have told me that without all the bother.

The TV is against the side wall of the room! You have to turn sideways to watch TV! Plus the TV remote needed batteries or something, it didn't work well at all.
There are only four things a hotel needs. Good TV capability, Wifi, decent bed, and a decent shower.
The bed was ok, but they fail on the other three.

I arrived early in the hotel around 10:30am, and the staff was able to check me in early to a spacious room where I can start some of my work for three of my conference calls in the afternoon. Internet is a bit glitchy but tolerable.
The birth year rate was great. The paper bill did not reflect that, and the front desk person was able to correct that.
The breakfast was in atrium lobby which was a great ambience. I talked to a wait staff whom I have not seen almost 8 years, and she remembered me. Very much a feeling just like coming home.
The in-room dining experience was great as well, always delivered within 30 minutes while I was working away in the room.
Great location, steps away from Shaw Conference Centre where I went for my conference, and then steps away from Edmonton City Centre, where I went to see Avengers movie in 3D in the evening. On the way back to the hotel, I also shopped at Winners and Bay for some cloths.
So great location, great staff and excellent hotel!

We registerd to stay 3 nights to attend our son's wedding. on arrival reception did take my information for the room rate but I still had 3 messages left on our phone asking for the same information during our stay and then I still had to check when we were leaving as the statement was still wrong.
You know by the reservation 2 peopole will be staying but only 1 robe was provided. More work on the little things go a long way to keep members happy.
