Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel is FANTASTIC! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Vancouver. It is walking distance to Downtown and Stanley Park. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Vancouver. October 8, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel Not a bad thing to say...the view and location is great...you're still in the city but it feels very private and away from it all. the staff were great...the hotel was extremely clean. December 27, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Did not live up to SPG standards We stayed one night here on a spur of the moment trip to Vancouver. We have stayed at the Westin numerous times and have always been blown away by the quality and service. This time was very different. First let me say the location of this hotel is amazing, a great place to stay with a family. We have two boys who really enjoyed the boats and water that surrounds the hotel and they loved the pools, even when it was chilly outside they wanted to be in there. The staff gave us Westin Kids Club bags which they both loved, as well as a free movie. The downside was our room. We were on the 2nd floor and in a corner unit. It was extremely noisy and the people next to us were parting all night long with no warning to be quite, mind you it was 2am and went on for hours. Our room was awful and something I would expect to see in a motel. There were sliding doors to our room which did not close properly therefore allowing cold air in and condensation build up on the windows. There was mold on the curtains and the wallpaper was peeling off. When we told the front desk they said thank you for telling us and that was it. October 16, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by 50 Plus Stays I have stayed at the Bay Shore over 50 times and have been known to call it my home away from home. Although I hadn’t been in Vancouver for about 4 years, when it came to planning a trip with our friends from Australia I know I had to make the Bay Shore part of our tour. As I indicated, I had not stayed at the Bay Shore for a few years yet Todd, the Door Man, immediately recognized me and warmly greeted me and by the time we were inside with our luggage had figured out our names (probably from the luggage tags). Our overall stay was outstanding, unfortunately our friends from Australia, who we had recommended the Bay Shore to, had a dreadful experience. They ended up being charged not once for their stay, not twice, but three times (almost $3,000 in total). It took them several tries to get anyone from the hotel to acknowledge that there was even a problem. Finally after two days of long distance calls back to the hotel and a lot of anxiety, Amy from the Accounts department finally got involved and tried to help, but the damage was done in that the charges had gone through on the travel card and credit card requiring several calls back to Australia by our Friends to try to have the charges removed. So bottom line, it was good / bad stay depending on whose point of view you use. July 10, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by rediculous internet policy Worst internet policy I have run into....have to pay for EACH device access! I am in a hotel 250+ nights a year...never run into this poor a policy - ANYWHERE. November 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Hotel Absolutely loved the hotel's amenities, views, and staff. I've stayed at different locations in Vancouver, but Coal Harbor is far and away the best location. June 14, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by High internet charges are unwelcoming! The Westin Bayshore is well-situatuated, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the beds are comfortable. The $15 per day per device fees charged for internet access I found dated, unwelcoming and inconvenient. This is a conference hotel, there will be many people who are visitng on business and need to keep up with email. Overseas visitors (whose smart phones are not networked to a mobile provider ) are particularly affected. On top of a reasonably expensive room I paid 5 days of internet access. When we asked the conference organsiers about a login, they reporte that the internet charges were probitively high and not affordable within the conference budget. The net result is that guests feel exploited. The additional cost tot he hotel of guests making use of wifi internet is minimal - and yet the charges are high. So we feel cheated. which undermines all other efforts to make guests feel welcome. I should finish by noting that in a limited area of the lobby free internet access is available but it is not useful for those who need more to work - although probably sufficient for a holiday maker needing to check email quickly. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel, Great Location The hotel is wonderful. Beautifully appointed, clean, and very up-scale. All-around nice. It's location is superb, close to everything of interest in Vancouver with a few very nice restaurants within a short walk. The only negative is the parking situation. The parking garages are separately operated, and there is very poor communication between the hotel and the garage..... so you are basically on your own, and the fees are outrageous for a self-park facility. I was overcharged by the garage after being told by the garage attendant that I needed to pay them first, and then take my receipt to the hotel to be "credited" and to receive a hotel "parking pass" which would allow me to stay additional time (very confusing). When I approached the hotel guest receptionist with my receipt from the parking garage, she basically told me that she couldn't give me a parking pass unless I then paid her (thus paying twice, which would be $72!). I was a bit irrate. The hotel receptionist was not the least bit helpful or accomodating. If I had the time and inclination, I would have spoken directly to the hotel manager. This should not happen to guests at such a nice place. July 25, 2013
