Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this hotel!! I adore this Hotel. I have stayed quite a few times now and continue to book it whenever I am in town. I love the smell when I enter the lobby. The staff are quick to attend to your needs, and the room was spotless and very comfortable. Bravo to all the staff and management for a job well done! August 18, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by A disappointment Perhaps we expected too much with the Westin name. We did not expect the walls in our room to have some kind of soft-drink splatter on them. We did not expect to have no access to the fridge. We did not expect the unfriendly - even icy - service at breakfast on our first day. We did, however, find the reception staff to be very friendly, highly professional and helpful. Our second day breakfast server was also similarly friendly, professional and helpful (Jose). A notable positive feature of the hotel is that it is within walking distance of many main attractions; e.g., Pier 21, the wharfs, art gallerys, Garrison Brewery, downtown (shopping/restaurants), the Citadel and the Public Gardens. Rated 2 out of 5 by Bathroom and Lounge Bathroom in main lobby was disgusting,complained to main desk and he called someone and walked away from us,waiting for a drink at Roy's for over 15 min,asked the bartender and he never got our order,there was only two other tables.Stale beer nuts and a broken bottle near the elevator.Not impressed. Rated 3 out of 5 by Turnbull Vacation Nice and clean Hotel. Close to the Wharf. Staff at check in not super friendly . Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom was small and no vanity space. Tub did not drain, so showering in 6" of water. Low water flow toilets did not flush well, had to always flush two or three times, so no water savings there. August 11, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by great location walking distance to boardwalk activities. Spacious rooms. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Had an issue with the air conditioning, but staff was quick to rectify. The only recommendation I would make would be to remove the glass in the bathroom doors. Even though they are frosted, the silhouettes coming out of the shower, etc. leave nothing to the imagination. With the beds facing the door, it's a little uncomfortable when travelling with friends or with your children.We ended up hanging the bathrobe over the door in an attempt to have some privacy. Other than that, our hotel experience was a good one. August 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Generally, a fine hotel This hotel has many amenities, though I can only comment on the ones I used. Appreciated the access to wireless Internet. Restaurant food and service are quite exceptional in quality and friendliness. The restaurant and the front desk staff all gave exceptional service. Parking is difficult for mobility impaired- poor signage at street and back entrance - not easily visible from all access points. Level of lighting in room far too low for average person. There was a problem with the bedside lights. The bed bumped the power bar so the lights kept going on and off. Chamber maid said, "we'll, that's how it is". The so called "green choice" needs to be better explained to room cleaning staff. Ours seemed to think that just because we elected to keep our bedding over two days, that meant they did not even have to enter the room to tidy the bed, or give us clean glasses in the room or bathroom. Rated 5 out of 5 by Westin Nova Scotian feedback As always our stay was great. The only glitch was the tv. We had to call 'downstairs' to have someone come up and reset the tv - it wouldn't turn off & the remote wouldn't work. After I saw how to reset it (unplug & replug) I had to do it myself 2 more times - a bit annoying. But, when I let the desk know on check-out he gave us 2 days free parking - very nice. Although, I believe the parking should be free anyway, especially with the parking lot in such lousy condition (holes, uneven surfaces). Besides that, great. August 2, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 beautiful hotel Stayed a total of two nights at The Westin. This hotel had charm and elegance. The room was large, clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel offered all the amenities including Yuk Yuks. We walked downtown and it only took 10 mins. The boardwalk was also right there and was a easy stroll to everything. The front desk and front door staff were very friendly. I would stay there again and again. July 28, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed I have stayed here a few times over the past 12 months, and was always very pleased. This time when I arrived very late, due to an unforeseen flight delay, the person at the front desk, did not have the type of room I had prepaid for??? and when I got to my room, the bed certainly did not seem like the "heavenly bed" I am used to, nor were the pillows very new (they were lumpy). The overall room (#719) was clean, but tired, and the lighting is still poor in all rooms in this hotel July 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Staff! We stay at the Westin whenever we need to travel to the IWK Children's Hospital with our son. Each and every time we have stayed at the Westin we have received excellent support and service from every member of the staff. Everyone is so helpful and understanding. It has made our trips less stressful. The fact that this hotel is so close to the hospital and the Superstore are added bonuses for us travel-weary parents. July 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Friendly and helpful staff We checked in to the Westin Nova Scotian on our first day as a married couple! The staff were brilliant and upgraded us to a beautiful suite with champagne in the room, a Jacuzzi and a rooftop balcony overlooking the sunset and Halifax skyline. It was a wonderful way to decompress after a whirlwind week in the Maritimes. We will be back many more times! July 24, 2013

Only one issue which i felt was purely a mistake on them was they had forgot to take some dirty cutlery and forgot to replace the coffee pouches that we had used that morning. Rated 5 out of 5 by First visit to Halifax I was recommended by my good friend to stay at Westin Nova Scotian. Since I've never been to Halifax or Nova Scotia in general, I decided to make my reservation at Westin. I requested a room with a view and did get a gorgeous view. Everything was going well except my last night stay. Was woken up by couple of people running,slamming door and yelling in the hallway. All these happened past midnight. Overall, I did enjoy visiting Halifax and will definitely stay at Westin Nova Scotian in the future. Pros: walking distance to the boardwalk and seaport. All amenities within reach Cons: staff seem not very knowledgable about restaurant suggestion. I.e. restaurant that has live music...etc. July 21, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Room 233 - July 12-14, 2013 Good afternoon, I was not disappointed with the overall experience of the Westin Hotel and I would stay there again. The room, specifically 233, smelled musty, albeit clean. Everytime I entered the room, I said, 'the room still smells'. I mentioned this to the front desk manager who was very sorry for this experience and credited starwood points back to my account. Because we only stayed two nights, I didn't think it necessary to move rooms. My concern was handled very promptly by the manager. July 16, 2013

They answered every little and big questions we had about the city even gave us a printed map showing us how to find our daughters street and helped us get internet , ice , finding our car (no matter how many times we asked for our keys to get something out of it) The room was clean and I loved the safe we used it for our phones and wallets instead of taking them to the concert but boy it was small which might of been good as we lost nothing the next morning The overall was great .. we enjoyed the Rush Concert and was so pleased your hotel had room for us as we only booked the room that week Monday 8th or Tuesday 9th Thanks again .. I just wished we would of remembered the young man that helped us with our car ( it was a rental and we seem to need our keys alot ) Thanks Guys July 15, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by this hotel needs renovation I stayed at room 456, for the price of $200 a night I expect cleanliness through out the room. The toilet bowl was stained and aged, public washroom has a better toilet bowl. My kids don't even want to use the toilet, The only good thing is the location, the boardwalk was the best thing from staying from this hotel. July 14, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Reservations I recommend that guests DO NOT opt for non refundable, prepaid bookings. Unlike major competitors, this is not the best rate. When I called the hotel to change another open reservation, I expressed my unhappiness at the significant drop in rates compared to what I had paid for my second reservation. I did not expect a price reduction, but the offer of perks (breakfast, meal voucher, upgrade, points etc.) to assuage my feelings of been taken, scammed or whatever were not forthcoming. Simply, " we have many promotions, that is what you chose and have a nice day. " Too bad, so sad. Indeed I will have a nice day; it was my bad and I am sure both my forthcoming stays will be pleasant. However, on that note I do want to share me prepaid experience at the Westin with others.
