Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful stay We stayed here the first night on our trip around this particular section of the former GDR. After a drive from the Berlin Tegel airport, when we arrived, we were a little concerned as there was another car parked in front of the main door with two gentlemen gathering together all of their luggage and then heading into the lobby. Normally when we drive up to a Westin (or similar hotel), a valet/doorman/staff member is there to assist with the luggage and guide one into the reception area. But no problems, we just gathered all of our belongings and headed off to the check-in desk. Check-in was quick, efficient, friendly and quite pleasant. At that time we were asked if we needed any assistance with our luggage. Future overnight stays in Leipzig, Weimar and Hannover were similar in not having "outside" personnel ready for arriving guests. Berlin was the one exception. Positives - (1) Hotel is in a great location - within a 10 minute pleasant walk over the bridge into the old city. (2) We were upgraded to a Suite due to platinum SPG status - thank you very much -- to a very nice, clean, spacious corner sitting room and bedroom (#427) with a fantastic view of the old city across the Elbe river (3) Very comfortable bed (4) very quiet and peaceful in our room (5) front desk staff very helpful, courteous and excellent grasp of English, especially Peggy (6) excellent dinner at Canaletto's (7) They will park your car - parking is 16 euros (one of the lowest rates that we were charged during on our trip for hotel parking) (8) Free Buffet breakfast was given as one of the welcoming "selection" choices for SPG platinum members. I really appreciated this, as the poor policy decision of many Westin properties is when platinum spg members select a free breakfast for their "recognition" choice upon check in, it is a only a continental breakfast. Apparently, in those hotels platinum members are not valued enough to receive the full breakfast buffet. Thank you Westin Hotel Bellevue! Negatives - (1) Poor A/C. Upon entry, room was a little stuffy and warm. Turned A/C on and dialed down to lowest temperature with max fan - but nothing much happened. Some air was coming out of the vent, but not much cooler than the room. I opened the windows (as far as possible) and eventually room temperature was OK. Dresden itself was a very pleasant surprise and the Hotel Bellevue is a place that we will strongly recommend to friends who may be traveling in this area. We may return to this area and would love to stay here again. May 15, 2013
Danke an ALLE April 30, 2013
May 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by hotel in bester lager mit älteren mobiliar ein hundefreundliches Hotel in sehr guter lage - geräumige zimmer in unserer bestellten klasse - ausgezeichnetes personal - sowohl beim check in-out ,als auch im restaurant und cafe !!! leider etwas renovierungsbedürftige möbelausstattung in den zimmern und untergrundmässiger Wellness-Bereich , der dringendst erneuert werden muss und zum Standard des hauses gar nicht passt ! Rated 5 out of 5 by Der Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war sehr angenehm. April 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Grand de luxe / quiet room Despite gold status, was allocated 2 rooms in front of the office's maids and close to elevators, making it extremely noisy ! March 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Basic facilities. As a frequent traveller, worldwide, I was amazed at being asked to pay 5 Euros for a bottle of water, left in the room ! Also, I found being asked to pay 15 Euros for WiFi connection was a bad reflection on your hotel. Guests at the wedding we had there a few days ago, were also housed in Motel 1 down the road were given complemantary WiFi and much cheaper rates for water. Otherwise, your establishment is very good. April 15, 2013
