Rated 5 out of 5 by Ling48 Very helpful staff.
I completed your survey but thought it was important to mention the staff. Your concierge, Lisa, was extremely helpful. She was patient and knowledgeable. She provided great information for our excursion to Granville Island.
Your bellmen were also very helpful. They answered all our questions with great patience,
Last but not least, the household staff was great. The lady who serviced our floor was very accommodating providing us with whatever we needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by dsbip Decent stay with minor quibbles
I booked a standard suite, but when upon check in I was upgraded to a newly renovated suite on the top floor, which I appreciated.
The multiple customer service agents I met throughout the stay were uniformly polite, enthusiastic, and accommodating. A+
The room was very good, with a comfortable bed, great view of the city, and good bathroom facilities.
I have some minor quibbles:
-The keycard I was issued didn't work, and the agent at check-in had to physically come up to the room to let me in with her master keycard.
-The bathroom countertop was not entirely clean. Some shaved stubbles, presumably from the previous resident, was left on the counter. It wasn't a big deal, but I expect better from Westin.
-There were a few loose hairs in the bath tub. Again, it wasn't a big deal as I just rinsed them down the drain, but Westin should do better.
-The big disappointment: the kitchen didn't have Sriracha sauce. For a hotel in Vancouver this is unforgivable. (Okay, it's not that big deal, but please do consider stocking a bottle of Huy Fong Sriracha sauce).

Rated 3 out of 5 by RoadWarrior98 A very average experience
As a longstanding Platinum member I spend a lot of time in SPG properties and lean towards Westin. I occasionally bring family with me as in this case. As a suite hotel the guarantee of a little extra space was important. The reviews indicated that upgrades were seldom offered at this site even for Platinum members and that was definitely so on my visit. In fact, the check in clerk made that clear even before she said hello. This is a very average property in all respects, including facilities and services. There are only two elevators for a 25+ floor hotel so long waits were the norm, explaining the TV's in the elevator foyer. The salt water pool is small but adequate and the hot tub is hot but the greenish tinge makes one think it is dirty and poorly maintained. The restaurant menu was limited but the food was satisfactory. Fortunately there are numerous restaurants in the area. I can't think of anything glowing to say about this property, although housekeeping did do good work. There are many other options in the Vancouver area that offer excellent service and appreciate loyalty as a matter of routine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by brendanm Great location, friendly staff
My wife, kid and I stayed here and enjoyed every moment. The rooms were spacious and perfect for a toddler. The only downside with this hotel are the elevators. The wait time was pretty crazy. Other than that, the staff were always friendly and we would stay here again the next time we travel to Vancouver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by partyoffour Great spot
Great location for concert going/shopping/dinning. Lovely room, on the perferred guest floor newly renovated!
Front desk staff lovely but pool service and room service disappointing. No late night menu after 11pm (only bowl of granola). Waited for 30+ min just to be acknowledged at pool to order drinks and snack... By the time we got our order we had to eat and run.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PacemakerMK Great Downtown SPG Option
We had the pleasure of staying at the Westin for Canada Day, and we were not disappointed with our choice versus the other SPG options in town. The staff was very accommodating even in the middle of the chaos of the lobby renovation. My ambassador had done some initial prep for our arrival and the staff was able to handle all of our requests. You are located near tons of restaurants and shopping, as well as a quick walk down to Gastown. My only knock on the hotel is the rooms are starting to get a bit dated, but still met my expectations for a Westin.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Wabberjocky Perhaps my expectations were too high
First, the good. The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating. All interactions with the hotel staff (bartender/server in the lounge, front desk staff, concierge, luggage handlers) were positive. I could not offer higher praise for that part of the experience. The hotel location was also convenient. However, the room, billed as a suite with a premium view was neither a suite nor did the view qualify as "premium". The room (2806) was on a high floor, but it was a normal-sized hotel room and the view was of nothing special. There was nothing about the room that qualified it as a suite. The shower drained slowly, but otherwise, there was nothing particularly wrong with the room. I had high expectations for a property named "Westin Grand Vancouver" charging nearly $500 per night. I was highly disappointed.
