I was finally able to plan a weekend getaway with my family. Now that three of four kids are young adults, coordinating our schedules is a nightmare. I reserved two rooms for July 15-17th. The reservation agent assisting with the reservation was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help me figure out the best way to get what I wanted at the best price. Although My party of 8 arrived at the Westin at 3pm on Friday, I advised we had a reservation for 2 rooms for the next two nights, since it was early, our rooms weren't available, we sat by the pool to wait. At approximately 4pm, I once again approached a male staff member at the desk to confirm we could check in, the kids were hoping to change and make the most of the pool. I advised I prepaid for the first night and two rooms, at which point the staff member who offered assistance earlier, walked over and advised I only had a reservation for one room.
I’d like to be completely honest here, I walked into the hotel with 7 other individuals. Although I clearly advised I had a reservation for two rooms, she assumed I was attempting to squeeze 8 individuals into a room and her assistance was reflective of that assumption. I pulled up my reservation on my phone and handed it to the male staff member. He proceeded to expand on the segment that outlines the breakdown of the rooms and point out that the room was listed under my daughter’s name. I can honestly say that I was not aware this was so important. When I made the reservation, the agent asked me for a name for second room and I provided one; however, I made the reservation and the payment. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I can’t be the first person who’s reserved two rooms at this hotel, why would both individuals continue to argue that I didn’t have a room versus attempting to help me figure out why the second room wasn’t showing up.
Once this issue was cleared up and the male staff member handed me the key to the first room, we sent 4 members of our party up to the room and followed once we received keys to the second room. Unfortunately, we were already in the elevator when we realized we were located on different floors. The staff member did not even have the courtesy to advise of this. When confronted, we were advised no notes were made in the system at the time of reservation and the hotel was completely booked. Ultimately a manager got involved and rectified the situation.
I spent a night at the Westin in Savannah in January. My boyfriend planned for us to stay on our drive from North Carolina to Florida. I enjoyed the experience so much and wanted the kids to have the same, otherwise, I would have booked a more affordable, family friendly hotel. I’d like to state that I am a professional and fairly articulate; however, I definitely felt the two staff members at that counter made assumptions based on our dressed down apparel and the color of our skin.

I have stayed at the hotel many times and this most recent stay was great too. The river views are always amazing and watching the sunset can't be beat.
The hotel room was very clean and the bed very comfortable.
The hotel food is good, but overpriced. I would recommend eating at some of the local restaurants across the river.
I would recommend the hotel and will be back for sure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JBH528 Great view, but.....
The hotel had great views of Savannah harbor and riverside. The bathroom was another story. The shower was basically not useable. Zero water pressure at all. After being outside in the humid 95+ degree heat, a shower would have been nice. Not so much. The worst showers that I have ever experienced. And the toilet leaked all over the floor each time flushed (from the toilet tank).

Hotel/resort exceeded our expectations. We celebrated our 40th Anniversary there and could not have made a better choice. Check in was a breeze, the room was beautiful, love the view of the river and pool. The pool was awesome, employees were very attentive without being obtrusive. I really did not want to leave. Westin really knows how to make you feel special.

Hotel is in need of updating. Halls are dingy with stained carpet. Pool and hot tub were dirty. Food and drink prices were outrageous. Six dollars for a beer and fourteen for a turkey wrap. The staff at the desk were poorly trained. I asked for a military discount when I checked in and then was told when checking out that I could only get a military discount if I had asked for one months earlier when I made reservations. Coffee maker in the room did not work. When I asked for a replacement the second one didn't work either. I usually like to stay here every year but don't think I can ever go back.

Just finished a 5 day/4 night Birthday trip at The Westin with my best friend. The hotel is beautiful. Spacious, comfortable room. Beautiful river views! From the moment we arrived, the staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Loved the availability of the ferry over to the riverfront! It was wonderful to not have to drive over. The pool was amazing! We also thoroughly enjoyed riding the bicycles on the old racetrack. Such a unique feature! Each evening after our adventures, we would find ourselves in the bar/lounge area. Jerome was our bartender and took very good care of us! Recommending food for dinner (which was delicious... Pork chops were divine! ) and specialty drinks! Always a smile, and enjoyable conversations!! Such an fabulous time, we didn't want to leave!! I would gladly recommend The Westin to anyone traveling to Savannah! I already am thinking about my next trip there!! Thank you to the staff and everyone who made our trip so spectacular!
