We stay here often. We are from San Antonio and always select this resort when it is available at a good room rate.
Our daughter is 13 and loves the teen club and pool area. The staff makes activities fun.
The pool area is very nice and tropical with beauitiful panoramic veiws of the Texas hill counttry.
I tried the morning outdoor dance class and it was fun! The spa is wonderful!
This is a terrific resort with two wonderful golf courses. The food is not that great, in any of the hotel restaurants...including the fine dining.. This is the only area that could definitely use improvement.
I love San Antonio! and Love La Canterra!
Shopping and restaurants are nearby with hotel shuttle service.

We loved the overall resort. Only have a couple of issues. The bed mattress needs to be replaced. It was horrible. The nightstand light did not work. I reported it to the front desk and nothing was done. Upon investigation I found that it was unplugged. I wasn't about to try and move the bed to plug it in. So, I left the cord plug hanging where housekeeping would see it thinking that they would plug it in . That didn't happen either.

Air Conditioning stopped working around 11:30 pm on second night of stay (too late to bother moving but room was uncomfortable at 80 degrees). I notified Casita ambassador so maintenance could repair before next guests arrival. The resort itself and staff were outstanding.

I was very disappointed in my stay this last weekend at Westin La Cantera! I was there for the NuHope golf outing and have been attending this outing for many years. With the size of this outing and the money that Nustar spends and brings into this resort they should be better accommodated.
I arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon and did not get my room till 5:45. I missed parts of the outing due to waiting for this and my company paid 13,000.00 to attend and I was not able to take full advantage of the events offered, also rooms were not made up the next day till after 5pm. I would think that with an event this large proper staff would be on site to accommodate the large amount of guests that are at this outing! Again it is scheduled way in advance and I know that Nustar would be very disappointed that their guests were treated that way.

A great location in North San Antonio. The service was amazing and made my stay more than comfortable. Club Lounge was adequate. Palmer and Resort Golf Courses were very accessible and great courses to play. Resort fee is excessive at $25. Should be closer to $10.

Very disappointed at this beautiful resort. Staff very inattentive. Long walk to parking and was offered a ride once out of 4 trips. Took 10 minutes to set a wakeup call. Front desk finally answered and said they were on the line with another guest. Front desk called my room looking for another room 4 floors above me and woke me up. Comfy beds but sheet around the mattress comes up several inches short of the end of the bed. Also, no wi-fi in the room. Overall, very poor service for such a nice facility.

My son and brand new DIL spent their honeymoon night (New Years Eve-2011) at this hotel. From the moment the limo pulled up at the front until the moment the my car door closed the next day, they were treated like royalty. My son was still in his dress uniform and he says that most of the staff refused a tip when he offered it to them. The room was outstanding. The staff had arranged a walkway of rose petals and a heart on the bed from rose petals.
Every little thing was perfect. I was impressed with the way the staff came running to the car to help them out and to get their luggage.

This is a fabulous property. From the moment that we drove onto the property, all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The views are wonderful, and the property is well maintained. I have more than 100 hotel nights every year and stay at almost countless properties-- the Westin La Cantera is now one of my top five favorite hotels, and I want to find a way to return with my wife. This hotel is highly recommended.
I visited the hotel because I had a business trip that included a little golf with a colleague. We both received a platinum upgrade to the concierge level. No suites were available, but the club level was more than enough. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the pastries, fruit, and berries in the morning. The service was outstanding. The hostess Amanda remembered our names each day, and she and the other staff wanted to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. Even the cleaning staff stopped when we passed them in the hall to say hello and to greet all guests. Service is obviously very important at this property.
Another small plus was that the prices for beer and wine were very reasonable in the club lounge. This was a nice, small touch.
If you are looking to play golf, look no further. Both the resort and Palmer courses are excellent and well maintained. The elevation changes on the golf course accounts for a memory experience that is both challenging and enjoyable. The views were incredible!
The pool and spa also looked excellent. We had a business oriented trip, but I walked around the property to see if my family would like this hotel. There is no doubt-- my family would love it here, or it would be an ideal romantic getaway for my wife and me.
The only suggestion for improvement is that there were not enough staff at the check-in desk when we arrived. There was a conference arriving, and there were only two people checking in guests. There were stations for seven staff to check-in guests, and they should have all been used. In addition, there was a gold/ platinum line, but I did not observe any staff at this registration station over our three-day visit.
I will definitely return to this hotel in the future, and I hope that I can bring my wife with me. Wonderful property!
