Having a self serve coffee machine at breakfast is pretty average for a hotel of this quality. The staff would direct to the machine and once making it the taste was also average. This view was also shared by other people I traveled with. One person was very helpful Alan at breakfast who actually made the coffee for us. I feel that wireless internet in the room should be complimentary.

Enbarressing moment Sunday evening. Ha d been to the shops and could not activate lift with my room card.
Lots of glares so returned to reception who grilled me, demanded identification, very unprofessional and then told me it was my fault because the room card had been stored with my phone. Not a good way to handle things . Also 65 dollars for parking has me thinking about the value.

We have stayed twice now and always wish we could stay longer, it really is a beautifull hotel. The staff are professional and always great you with respect and are a pleasure to speak to.Rooms are large and very comfortable with all quality details. Restuarant and buffet breakfast a pleasurable experience.
Location can't be beat, its a short walk to anywhere. We will always come back

Location is great, rooms quiet and pleasant what you expect at a 5star hotel. Staff from concierge and reception needs serious improvement, you ask yourself if they enjoy having clients. Staff at breakfast very friendly but 20 min waiting time to get a table is not really what you expect 3 mornings out of 4....
Hotel needs a kick, should not be run like a factory but like a hotel.

Toilet is dusty. I wonder when was the last time being cleaned thoroughly. Amenities are lacking and not replaced daily. No slippers (5 star hotel?). Some of the drinking glass went missing on the second day after we arrived and now on our fifth day it's still nowhere to be found. Air con made noises, noises from bar nearby can be heard at night, made us hard to sleep profoundly.

Hotel was great, especially the beds. Would have to be the most comfortable bed I've slept in, in any hotel. However, I have a complaint with the breakfast. All hot food was barely warm, bacon was over-cooked and price was exorbitant! Staff attitude was less than friendly, especially when we asked for a table for 5. Will definitely stay at this hotel again, but will not eat here.

Hotel is very well positioned in the CBD - staff were attentive, and made every effort to accommodate us. We arrived a day earlier than expected and so had two bookings. I requested a quiet room, and this was arranged on the Starwood preferred guest level. The room was spacious, and quiet - the best we have had for some time- we travel frequently to the US every year, and are used to booking 5* hotels with excellent value for the cost. The shower area was a bit tired with tiling that could be regrouted, and the shower mixer was not the best. I had a couple of showers with very hot alternating with lukewarm water.
Despite this we will certainly stay again, and recommend the hotel.
One bonus, is the $20 total internet fee for up to three devices / 24 hours. We both had work to attend to , and it does irk us, that with 5* hotels the internet fee isn't inclusive in the rates.

As a returning guest, I was looking forward to being able to surprise one of my best friends who travelled to NSW to spend her birthday with a group of friends. Once again all of my expectations were far exceeded- not too mention my friend was completely blown away with her surprise present of a night of luxury at what has quickly become my favourite hotel in Sydney. Westin Sydney has the most comfortable room hands down. The heavenly bed is soft and very good for your back, there were also 6 pillows provided for your comfort!
The room is spacious, the TV and channels are excellent (crystal clear unlike some other 5 star hotels). The bathroom is classy with a huge bath tub. Would stay here without hesitation the next time I visit Sydney.

I stayed at The Westin for business. The location was excellent as it is located in the CBD. The hotel is in close proximity to the Wynyard train station so the trip to and from the Sydney airport was really simple. It was also an easy walk to Circular Quay for restaurants and ferries. The room was well appointed with modern bathroom facilities and a very comfortable bed.

Still no ESPN. That is not acceptable for an American hotel chain. No ESPN means no access to many of the most important Americe sporting events.
Internet was a bit slow. WiFi access was cumbersome and included a long delay.
Breakfast remains suboptimal. Poor service. Good coffee is an extra charge.
Staff is excellent.
Good rooms for work. Great beds. Nice bathrooms.

Have always enjoyed previous stays at The Weston,but on this occasion left feeling totally wrecked due to lack of sleep caused by thumping disco music from an external bar which continued until 4.00am. Reception contacted the Bar at 2.00am to lower sound but to no avail. So much for the heavenly bed
I am surprised that management have allowed this disturbance to happen.

We booked a room in the tower and were delighted with it. The layout and furnishings were great. The facilities were varied and good quality.
Check in was very slow, three seperate counters meant no way of processing people in order of arriving. It was a case of picking a queue and hope for the best.
The room was ready an hour early so that was nice.
The big let down is the valet service. You are required to remove your bags from your vehicle and then be addressed by the valet with "you don't want me to take your bags inside, do you?".
A reasonable walk dragging bags to reception with no offer of assistance from luggage counter staff or others.
On departure a wait of nearly 20 minutes for our car to be brought up. Other people were also waiting for theirs and had to keep asking where their car was. One couple asked to be given their keys so they could go get the car themselves!!
More staff and better trained staff are needed in the valet section, particularly on busy times such as a weekend as was the case with us.

A wonderful place to relax after the City to Surf. Travelling as a mum and 3 children, it was fantastic that we could all stay in the one room. Finding the pool was an adventure and great source of amusement, however it was a little dissapointing for the children when we found it,. Perfect for the serious swimmer. Fantastic location for central Sydney and the harbour.

Stayed for 6 nights in a tower room facing the clock. Spacious room, nicely appointed bathroom and overall very practical design. The bed was so comfortable that I could have spent my whole visit sleeping. Access to the Goodlife gym was a nice perk and I had the lap pool all to myself. Location is excellent and we could easily walk to shopping, dining and attractions.

A delightful stay as usual, however, it was let down by the fact that for 2 of the 3 nights I stayed, room service rung the door bell in the morning despite my 'Do Not Disturb' light being turned on. The service attendant did apologies after she noticed the light was on once I had opened the door, however this occured twice. Apart from this, it was still a good stay.

Overall very impressed with the hotel and particularly the staff. Two issues however. The door to the toilet opens towards the toilet making it awkward to get out of the cubicle and secondly I stayed whilst the olympic games were on and none of the foxtel dedicated olympic stations were available. Those points aside the room was very comfortable and incredibly quiet.

This was out tenth visit to this hotel and by far it remains the best hotel we have stayed at.
The hotel is well maintained, is in the centre of the city, is surrounded by all the attractions and is full of wonderful people who all wanted to make our stay the best ever!
We will definitely be back for an eleventh visit in the near future.

We have stayed at the Westin several times this year and without fail it has been a great experience. The hotel could not be better located, the staff more friendly and professional or the rooms more comfortable.
With reservation I would recommend the Westin as my first choice when looking for Sydney CBD accomodation. It will certainly bring us back for more visits.

I just spent a long weekend at the Westin Sydney. The hotel is beautiful, the location excellent and the rooms are wonderful, spacious with all the necessary comfort. Aside from the view that was not great although I was on a higher floor, and, perhaps more importantly, the limited capacity of the club floor, the experience was excellent and the staff very friendly

Extremely impressed by my recent stay in a heritage room - nicely appointed, well presented - an exceptionally comfortable and roomy space for relaxation or to catch up on those pesky work emails before a meeting. A surprise knock on the door to ask me if the cleanliness of the room met my expectations was most appreciated. Great food and friendly staff throughout.

This was my first time that the hotel rejected my late check out without any good reason. The original check out time is 11am but I want to extend it two hours more which was talking 1pm. Staff in reception just said it very firmly that there is no room to extend to 1pm. It was so disappointing on this response.

Kali and Sally along with all staff are so amazing. They know how to treat their guests like royalty. The hotel is 200% Luxury and makes you feel like you are at home. Nothing is too much trouble, I have stayed lots of times and each time is as perfect as the last. It is so lovely to see the same faces each time I check in. I feel that is very uncommon in hotels.

This hotel is in the historic GPO building.The first thing that you see is this magnificent architecture that was preserved by the hotel.
IT s an heritage building and you can feel it in the ambiance, but it have also a very contemporary comfort, not to mention the location on the beautiful Martin Place
IT s one of my favorite hotel in the world,feels like home.

Purpose was for business. Although I am a SPG member, its really poor form to charge for wireless internet usage. No one does this anymore. Was given 2 double beds, despite requesting a king size bed. The room should have a converter plug, non Australian plug, or at least a USB connection for charging.

Stayed a couple of nights and was upgraded to a suite, excellent facilities and lounge, very good walking access to downtown Sydney, highly recommended. Only peeve was I had to wait a couple of hours to get my room in the morning after a long flight from the US as the rooms were not ready, despite advance notification. Time spent watching cricket in the lounge.

-decent breakfast buffet
-no free wifi - having to ask for a password EVERY hour like a beggar
-not greeted or recognised as SPG member upon check-in
-anything more than regular coffee is charged extra
-check-in staff tend to be polite but cold and impersonal (Inga is the exception - great smile and laugh)
-master light switch turns off everything, including outlet by the bed, and I have a CPAP machine; I had to sleep with the lights on the whole stay
-being ignored by concierge (Bradley and William) when picking up my luggage; eventually, Bradley taking my ticket - NO GREETING, NOT A WORD - then handing it to a bellman and then going back to his conversation with William
-REALLY POOR FORM - Bradley and William made comments about an attractive woman walking by IN FRONT OF ME, A GUEST - it could have been my wife, sister, mother, girlfriend - REALLY BAD MANNERS AND TRAINING

The Westin is my prefered Hotel in Sydney along with Sherarton on the Park.
On this occasion the check in process was not very nice and the room when we went to utilise the shower it did not work.
the taxi people need some improvement, every time I needed a cab i had to walk out to the rank and get my own others the concerge arranged and called a cab for them.

The room which we stayed on this occassion the bedside lights were faulty and would flicker at random during the night. I removed the globes which fixed that issue. Also the shower was faulty. It was not possible to use the wall mounted shower without the roof mounted head continuing water flow.
Stayed many times over past 12 or so years, only bad experience.

I was incredibly impressed with the professionalism of all staff. Much of their activity went completely unnoticed until the job had been done, including the placement of dividing walls in the ballroom, the filling of water jugs and wine glasses and the replenishment of dishes on the buffet. Every individual I spoke to was charming. Well done to all of them.
