Rated 4 out of 5 by Smile little more, perhaps? I stayed here for a night with my partner. Overall experience were great! The only unhappy experience was during my breakfast in the restaurant. The food were yummy but the service from the server was not that welcoming. None of the server are smiling. There was even one of the server being rude to us when we were enquiring about the billing for breakfast! Great hotel! Service wise, it definitely has a lot of room for improvement. August 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by First Class! I've traveled quite a lot over the years, both domestically and internationally, but I've never stayed at a Westin Hotel before. I was a guest in Melbourne (Collins st) this time around. I must say, I think I've found my preferred chain. The level of service from the doorman, to the staff in the dining room, and front desk was absolutely first class. I would have no hesitation in referring my colleagues to the Westin. Well done!! Rated 3 out of 5 by First time negative experience After many years of staying at the Westin Melbourne, yesterday I checked out and really felt said - the place we have always called home - no longer is providing the same service. Not much else to say, always loved the hotel but yesterday took the rose colour glasses off and believe next stay in Melbourne will be at a new hotel. Off to Westin Hawaii in June - hopefully we are not disappointed there also. May 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by We had a very comfortable stay My husband and I stayed for five nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very comfortable and the location of the hotel in the centre of the city and near the Botanical Gardens and the Yarra is ideal. The staff were excellent, always approachable, helpful, friendly and unpretentious.The breakfast staff remembered us and brought my coffee just the way I like it. We would definitely stay again. Rated 5 out of 5 by Treated Like a Family Member, not just a guest I only get to Melbourne about twice a year, and the Westin is my Hotel of choice due to many factors,including location,comfort, SPG recognition Etc. The thing that makes this hotel stand out, is the warm and friendliness of the staff and management. From the moment you arrive, Ian the doorman to the reception staff make you feel like you were there just yesterday , and are part of their extended family. A great hotel to stay. February 5, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sensational Our new favorite Hotel in Melbourne; the staff were excellent (returning home to Sydney and poor service was a let down this week), wonderful facilities and services - particularly the New Balance sports clothes arrangement - so useful! Rated 5 out of 5 by Legendary Concierges Paul & Steve managed to get us tickets for Les Mis after they had been booked out for weeks. Front Row, dress circle- best in house. Made our 20th wedding anniversary something we will never forget. You've seen the film - now meet the concierges who Can do. Excellent Location- we will be back July 7, 2014

Staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended to family and friends. July 14, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hotel has very poor service As a long-standing SPG member I booked a deluxe room for 3 guests for my 60th birthday....room overlooked very noisy street, air-conditioning dials not working and required engineer to fix after we reported it , forgot 6.00 a.m. breakfast order even though it had been rung through night before, no bath amenities for 3rd person. Despite them leaving chocolates for 2 people, the other issues ruined my special celebration. September 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Geat hotel for the Australian Open Our room was very spacious, beautifully presented and clean. Beds were the most comfortable I have slept in for ages. Recently had 4 weeks in Dubai and Europe in 5 star hotels and the beds were awfull compared to this. Great location for access to Melbourne Park for the Australian Open tennis. Restaurant however did not match the other experience - it was overpriced and average only. There is room for improvement there. January 25, 2013

Unfortunately we found the bed far too soft and pillows quite uncomfortable so would mark it down on that. If your partner wants to read without waking you, bring a small light as the bed lights light up the room. July 8, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fabulous Hotel!!! The Melbourne Westin met all our expectations. It is very well located in the heart of Melbourne and is close to cultural and leisure activities. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. They are especially welcoming of children. They even took the time to remember that it was my daughters birthday...the main purpose of our trip, and organised a special surprise treat for her! An absolutely wonderful stay!!! July 3, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Most disappointing Since I stayed here last year, the breakfast has gone from 5 star to 1/2 star. Modest selection of very ordinary produce. 2 choices of the cheapest cheese. Not only that, there is an $8.oo additional charge if you want very unappetizing eggs!! Out of the 100+ nights I stayed in spg hotels last year, the breakfast at the Westin Melbourne runs a poor last. They really need to lift the bar if they want customers back. January 30, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Refinement needed The position of this hotel makes it a winner. However, having stayed there a few times now, the standards are slipping. Constant prompting to service room, (told by reception that Sundays are a late service day!) , lack of replenishment of all amenities, from soap to tea. Also, absent recognition for Platinum status. Having paid for breakfast in the room rate, the complimentary breakfast for Platinum was irrelevant. May 9, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location for the theater This centrally located luxury hotel is perfectly located to the prime shopping areas and commercial theaters of Collins St., as well as steps away from Federation Square, and the Performing Arts center of Melbourne, as well as the fine arts national gallery, and all the excitement of the river waterfront as well. The staff and concierge services especially were very helpful with restaurant and theater reservations. December 13, 2011

I'm pleased by the quality of the hotel in general, the size and quality of the rooms, and the friendliness of the staff. They have always tried to upgrade me to a corner deluxe room because of my Platinum status, and when they couldn't they gave me a bay window room with a gorgeous view on the Flinders Ln. side. The staff is always incredibly helpful and pleasant. The facilities are outstanding and its location cannot be beat. It's location in downtown Melbourne places it very close to the major businesses, hundreds of great restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Melbourne. February 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel staff are very helpful and sincere I left my credit card at the taxi at the night of arrival on May 7. There was a young man at Concierge named Simon (I forgot his last name) was able to help me to track down the taxi driver and contacted him to return my credit card to the hotel! I was so grateful and surprised! I would like to thank Simon the following day but was told that it was his last day with the hotel on May 7. May 11, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Very poor booking service I telephoned your hotel to make a reservation. I did not realise that I was tranferred through to Cork in UK I wanted to book a package with b/fast and parking and was told that those packages were not available.I booked a deluxe room at $398pn and was advised that it had to be pre-paid, so I did!! I logged onto my computer to ascertain the parking fee and the b/fast cost, and found that the room rate was only $300. I telephoned your hotel again, and insisted that I speak to your in-house reservations. Your operator was very pleasant and credited my account with $196. I then discovered that there had in fact been a package available. I also received an email from Mastercard, offering yet a different rate plus bonus points. When we checked in I raised this issue with your operator, and asked about your price match quarantee, she advised me to write to the Reservations Manager. November 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic hotel The Westin is my go to destination in Melbourne. Spacious rooms, 5 star (if not 6) dining, and a super central location. Don't miss it. The only downside is the almost too soft pillows and bed. I must remember to ask for a stiffer pillow next time - that's my fault. July 5, 2014

From the front entrance greeting, through check-in to the spotless room is a warm welcoming experience. The lobby bar is perfect to relax after a hard day's work and the restaurant is excellent.
