The location was great and the hotel lobby was nice. Breakfast was excellent. However our room 969 had a few issues. Air conditioning did not work and required repair the fridge made a constant humming noise which I was told was normal due to it being old one of the phones did not work and to top it off they did not provide discount at check out. Only some points

I would rate the hotel as average. The TV's had problems with the satellite signal and cut out continuously. The Wi-Fi was hard to setup and the support company did not know much about the system at the hotel. Check out was good except when it came to getting the billing correct and on the correct credit card. The valet was a little slow but there was a lot of people. The staff was friendly but needs more training. The rating system above is broken on the web page too!!!!

I recently received Platinum status through SPG. I have traveled extensively and even as a preferred member, I was treated better than we were at the Whistler Westin. Really no acknowledgement of SPG status other than that they had my number on file and I was not given an option for my welcoming gift. We were not offered an upgraded room. I had requested a 4 pm check out on my reservation, however it was not acknowledged during check in and when I went to confirm the next morning there was nothing on my file.....
I have stayed at a few Westin's and this was the most expensive, yet the worst service I have ever received.

My room rate was $323 when I booked. I check out yesterday it goes to $324.70 (no one tell me why) plus parking fees that should be included in room rate. I tried to correct the staff about parking fee twice she just ignores me. Then I got wrong invoice in my email when I back home.
My room was 968 next doors from elevator. The ding-dong sound was keeping annoy whole night. Terrible room. My wife even found a grass in her bed.
Anyway WESTIN will never see me again and I will always suggest "NO" to all my friends.

This is more than a Hotel, it's a great retreat-like atmosphere and everything is right there. The rooms have a warmth with over-the-top comfort with even a separate shower and a very good bath. The kitchen had all you could want, and the little much-appreciated touch was the Starbucks coffee (in-room).
There is a great swimming pool, maybe a little warm for what I prefer, but good and the fitness overlooks the pool and is well -equipped with the exception of only one recumbent bike. We had the a very good steak for dinner.

What a disappointment! While property is beautifully located, situated in whistler village, the hotel falls short in the attention given to it by staff. As a Starwoods gold member, my wife and I were recognized at checkin and treated graciously. Our upgraded room was not ready at checkin (3:00pm) and we were offered another room that was "just like the original one". We accepted the room, but were disappointed and asked for the original room. While the room was still not ready, the front desk suggested they will call us when the room was available and that we should go walk around d the village.. Expecting a short delay, we did so. Almost 4 hours later, receiving no call,we went back to the front desk and received a modified apology for the performance. We checked into the upgraded room and didn't notice it was an upgrade. As a gesture of good faith, the manager on duty offered to provide breakfast buffet coupons and that they would be sent to our room. At 8:00 am,the vouchers had not been delivered. I called the front desk and they arrived 30 minutes later.
Two other items.- the bed was not comfortable and we spent most of the night tossing and turning.. Next, trying to get guest services on the phone is about a 10 minute wait on hold.
Bottom line, I love Westin and SPG, but this properties staffing performance needs to be addressed.

The property in the summer is just as vibrant and fun as it is in the winter. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us the entire time from booking the bobsleigh excursion to making dinner reservations on the fly. Even with it being Canada Day Weekend, the hotel didn't feel cramped or busy even though it was. Did the Platinum continental breakfast in the restaurant which was always filled with fresh food and a good assortment of everything. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a quiet weekend out of the city and a good place to relax in the mountains.

With all the choices to stay in Whistler, I thought I would stay loyal and stay at a Westin. Although updated, the hotel is still older and the rooms are small. We initially booked a deluxe studio and even for 2 people it felt cramped and there wasn't really anywhere to sit, other than the bed.
And with all the positive comments about my spg status, the front desk check in people didn't really do anything special to recognize it. They also forgot to ask me about my late check out time that I had requested (which I ended up clarifying in the morning - a little rushed to get out of there). And they didn't send me my folio or put it under the door so I left the hotel not really knowing what I owe! Yes, I could have asked but I was in a rush to get out of there.
I've stayed at many Westin's and have had much better experiences. The mistakes at this one were minor but it really did sour my mini getaway because I felt like I was constantly dealing with front desk to rectify my room situation. I wrote to the hotel about my experience, and although I got an initial response saying "they will look into this".. It's been a week since then and I have heard nothing. This just adds to my negative experience with them. Oh well. I definitely won't stay there again nor would I ever recommend it to my friends or family.
