Rated 4 out of 5 by nvmiller25 Wrong Reservation Date - OH NO
So I travel quite a bit for work and I have never made a reservation for the wrong date. However, it happened during my stay at the Westin in Greenville, SC and happened the same time as the BMW Pro AM tourney. So when I checked in the receptionist told me it was the wrong date and she was very rude. Basically she just dismissed me as if I was a bother. Need less to say that was the worst experience I ever had at a Westin but it was very busy and I decided just to sit in the lobby and sulk and try and find a new hotel. BUT THEN the General Manager noticed I was upset and stopped and asked me how he could help. Let me remind you that celebraties and pro golfers are all around me at this point but he stopped for me. He proceeded to tell me ever y hotel is sold out due to the tournament but he would try and find a room for me. I also tried to find a room with no luck but due to his connections he found me a room at another hotel and saved the day for me. I was so appreciative of his help and it was nice to see someone go out of their way for a customer. I will always stay at this hotel anytime in Greenville, SC because you never know when you need someone on your side and I hope he has a great career at Westin. What a great employee!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MKBUK Grand exterior, best location in town, rooms need work
The hotel boasts a grand exterior that sets an expectation for the public areas and rooms, that isn't quite delivered. The room decor particularly disappoints, being drab American 1970s standard, with motel-like bathrooms.
The standard room allocated was VERY expensive for a Saturday night stay. As a Platinum, I have to expect not to be upgraded when hotels are full, but to be pre-allocated a standard room on floor 4 (out of 11) when I specifically requested "Best view" was disappointing. (Perhaps there are no standard rooms higher up?)
Despite having a reservation for two adults, the allocated room was clearly intended for one person, having just one bathrobe, one complimentary bottle of water and 1 turndown chocolate.
Front desk indicated that late check-out was subject to availability for Platinums, so I presume this is one of the hotels registered with SPG as being a conference centre or resort hotel. (I don't have the list to hand, so can't check.)
The check-in agent stated that the Platinum amenity as points would be just 250 rather than the 500 that I am used to at Westins. Is this a change in the SPG programme? I took the breakfast benefit, so did not find out if this was merely a mistake.
Breakfast exceeded expectations. Platinums get the full buffet, and I found the choice and quality of food (as a vegetarian) to be excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jechho Charming hotel
Stayed here for one night on a road trip, The location in downtown Greenville cannot be beaten, and the hotel itself is charming and old-style.
The staff was wonderful and the platinum treatment great. Even had a small welcome letter with some snacks from the front office manager. That's the way to treat spg elites, well done!
The platinum continental breakfast was good and even included some hot items - also a big plus. I missed a few more healthy options, though. No whole grain/multi grain bread, toast or cereals was a drawback.
The big minus for us on this hotel, was the noise. Yes, we are light sleepers, but be aware that the windows in the rooms are old and not doubleglassed. If you stay in a room facing the main street you could eailyl hear traffic. We changed room to a wonderful suite facing the back, but here the generator/main airconditioning outside made a very loud and constantly humming noise. Note - this may not bother others, or even most people, but just be sure to bring your earplugs if you sleep lightly like us. I may suggest that the windows are replaced sometime soon, though.
Other minues? Well, the hotel is active on social media (twitter & facebook) but should prioritize adding an email address to their contact info on spg.com
All in all, five out of five in all aspects, except when it came to the noise issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SueinKennesaw FRONT DESK NEEDS TRAINING......
WE CHECKED IN TO THE HOTEL ON A THURSDAY AFTERNOON. WE REQUESTED A ROOM NEAR THE ELEVATOR AND A ROOM WAS AVAILABLE. WE RECEIVED NO INFORMATION ON ANY OF THE HOTELS FACILITIES THAT WERE AVAILABLE. I WAS TOLD WHAT GREAT BEDS THEY HAVE "THE HEAVENLY BED" AND ALTHOUGH THE MATTRESS ITSELF WAS COMFORTABLE AND SO WERE THE PILLOWS, THE BEDDING (BLANKETS, SHEETS) WERE LIKE SLEEPING UNDER LEAD. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A HORRIBLE NIGHTS SLEEP. IT FELT LIKE AN ELEPHANT WAS ON TOP OF ME...WHEN WE CHECKED OUT WE TURNED IN OUR ROOM KEYS AND MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE GARAGE TO GET OUR OUR CAR WHILE I WAITED IN THE LOBBY WITH ALL OUR BAGS. AFTER THE FRONT DESK CLERK TOOK THE ROOM KEYS AND SAW MY HUSBAND WALK AWAY TO GET THE CAR SHE THEN TOLD ME HE NEEDED THE ROOM KEY TO GET THE CAR OUT OF THE PARKING GARAGE. THEN SAYS...."BUT IF HE COMES OUT ON LEVEL ONE HE'LL BE ABLE TO PUSH THE RED BUTTON AND CALL FOR AN ATTENDANT TO LET HIM OUT".... THEN SHE TOLD ME THE GARAGE IS NOT PART OF THE HOTEL. TEN MINUTES LATER MY HUSBAND APPEARS BACK IN THE LOBBY BECAUSE HE WAS UNABLE TO GET THE CAR OUT WITHOUT THE KEY. THEY DIDN'T OFFER TO CALL OVER TO THE GARAGE OR IN ANY WAY ASSIST. THEY COULD HAVE GONE AND GIVEN HIM BACK THE KEY TO GET OUT, THERE WERE MULTIPLE PEOPLE WORKING THE DESK. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING ANOTHER COUPLE CHECKED IN AND THEY WERE GIVEN COMPLETE INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT THE HOTEL OFFERED TO THEIR GUESTS....THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THE LOCATION.....THAT'S IT. AND
DID IT REALLY HAVE A POOL AND SPA???????

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jencarolaw Disappointing
This was my first overnight visit to Greenville. I was attending a conference and had a reservation for two nights. When I arrived, reception indicated that I only had a reservation for one night (I had confirmation for both nights). Apparently some "Fall into Greenville" was scheduled to begin on Friday and the hotel must have wanted the conference guests to leave to make room for clientelle who were paying more per night. As a result, I had to check out on Friday and valet my things since the conference didn't end until after check-out. Unfortunately, in the complete disorganization that was supposed to be the valet, the valet (despite me providing all claim tickets) failed to load all my belongings into my car. As a result, when I arrived home, I discovered that I was missing my camera bag (I was the photographer for the conference) and a number of important documents. I immediately (that afternoon) called the hotel and arranged to have the bag and documents (the valet still had them) overnighted to me. Unfortunately, this conference guest must not have been important enough to the hotel so the hotel didn't bother to have my bag shipped out until late Saturday evening. By Sunday, when the bag still hadn't arrived, I called back and got a weak excuse from a front desk person about Fed Ex not picking up the package until Saturday evening. Needless to say, as of today (Monday), I still do not have my bag and am absolutely disgusted with the level of service from this hotel and the lack of courtesy shown to its guests. All of this combined with my terrible night sleep (since my room was facing the Main street where "Fall into Greenville" was setting up all its tent poles all night long, made this such a miserable experience that I will reccommed that my conference (I am on the Board) NEVER holds its annual conference in this hotel again.
