Rated 5 out of 5 by Vacation spot The staff was very friendly and helpful including the front desk, concierge and the bartender It is central to everything! We had a very comfortable room with a great view! We did not need parking nor pool or spa services. It was a great getaway! July 31, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice Facility, But somethings really let it down gets very busy and the SPG gold and and platinum member line moves very slow, with not enough staff to meet the need. I was given keys for my room at check in that didn't work. I had to be let in and was promised a new set of room keys but never received them. Even after requesting replacement keys be sent to my room 4 times I still did not receive them, eventually (4 hours later) I had to go to the front desk to get new keys made. VERY INCONVENIENT !!! The location of this hotel is too good to beat, shame the service and experience let it down. July 31, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wonderful Hotel, Great Location! Stayed at the Westin Times Square for 4 nights in July. It's location is absolutely superb since it's right at Times Square and closed to major attractions, shopping and dinning. The hotel itself is as one would expect of any Westin hotels, simply lovely. It's not as wonderful as some other Westins in term of grandeur or interior décor but the service is every bit as good. The bed and the shower is truly "heavenly". We were upgraded to a better room on the top floor and the view is wonderful. I would definitely stay here again the next time I come back to New York. July 30, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bathroom doors Great staff, fabulous location, but the doors on the bathroom are opaque so if you are trying to sleep and someone is in the bathroom with the light on it's as if the door is wide open. Very bad design choice for those wanting to sleep in the dark. July 27, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Another amenity now gone I wont be back As a Platinum we expect a certain level of amenities and now this hotel has closed its Lounge called the Atrium Club where we were provided with a light breakfast, etc. In its place we get to choose the points or a free breakfast instead of getting both. Couple this watering down of the program with a tired hotel with a sub-par steakhouse and other then the location why stay here for the price. I won't be. July 27, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best Bet for First Time Trip to NYC This hotel is in a great location. The staff were great and the junior suite we had was spacious and comfortable. Times Square is just a step away and so is HeII's Kitchen which is a calmer NYC experience. July 26, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasant stay The check in staff was pleasant and helpful, especially Kevin. The room was clean. However, there was dust around the legs of the bed end tables. We were in a bit of a rush upon check out and after we left the city I realized that I had left my musical instrument in the room. I called the hotel to have someone send it to me to my home. It arrived several days later and had been shipped without being put into a box. It arrived to me in its case only and was damaged. I was very surprised and dissapointed that someone from your hotel would ship something such as a musical instrument to a customer without putting it in ANY kind of box. July 26, 2012

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed When I went to the SPG desk, I was told my membership had "expired" since my number had not been used in a year. (I travel with my sister, and she uses her number) The room wasn't ready (we were there at 2:15), but she took my cc info and said they would call us when it was ready. We were called about 2:40, and was told we would have to wait in line to get our keys. There was only one person at the desk, and about 30 people waiting to check in at this time, so I stood in line another 15 minutes to get keys. I was NOT happy - my husband suffers from dementia, and I had to leave him on a sofa alone while I waited in line. The ice machine was out of order for a day, and there were no signs on it telling you to go to another floor or to call the desk. There was also a lot of noise in the halls, so although it was cool in the room, I had to run the a/c to drown out the noise. Very disappointed. July 25, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor service I've been using Westin Hotels for several years and this was the only disappointment so far. The reservation we did through Amex apparently did not go through properly and 3 adults were supposed to be staying in a King size bed, I paid for a corner room but while this was showing in the rate and clearly marked on the reservation, we were assigned a standard room. Not sure who's fault that was. The manager was helpful and solved the situation immediately but presented it as an "upgrade".... Too bad we had paid for that "upgrade". The extra bed took over an hour and two phone calls before it got to the room (at 2:00am... So I doubt there were other requests from guests). The following day we requested extra towels and a blanket for the extra bed at 3:00pm... By 5:00pm we had not received them. 2 phone calls after and another 30min finally they arrived. Service could definitively improve. July 25, 2012

Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible service, bathrooms leave lot to be desired FIrst I have to say that Ally at the front desk was absolutely fantastic and a delight to deal with.She made check in a pleasure and was very helpful with our free upgrade. Everything else was very disappointing! The service was horrible. We asked for some water to be sent to the room, after waiting for over an hour I went down to the front desk to complain and the response I got was, "I'll ask them again"! Room service left garbage out in the room and didn't replace the coffee either. When I called down for more coffee, again it didn't come! When you are paying $400 a night or spending 40,000 points on a room you'd think you'd be taken are of... Bathroom is supposed to be hip but there is no counter space, shower was tiny and the toilet didn't work properly and makes a ton of noise. The location is about as good as you can get, but other hotels with much better service are available in equally good locations. I won't be staying in this Westin hotel again! July 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bathroom Bathroom smelled strange. Don't know if it was humidity or had anything to do with the fact that it was a handicapped bathroom, but it had a very unconfortable smell. I've stayed many times at this hotel and has always been a positive experience, so I do not know what happened this time. July 20, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Twofolded stay in NYC We had a twofolded stay here at Westin Times Square with my wife. The location was excellent for us being a block from Times square. The room we got, after I asked what kind of rooms were available as an Platinum amenity, was nice room on the 39th floor with great view. The room was quite big for a NYC room. We stayed on points and had booked the stay last autumn, when the hotel was still cat 5. Checking the stay details and noticing that the hotel was now a cat 6 actually raised my expectations and made us think that we got a real bargain. I don't know whether this was the reason, but we both felt that the service at the front desk was not meeting even the service we got earlier on the trip at other hotels, some of them SPG cat 3. One example was when I at the check in asked after the Executive lounge, which is still as of 19.7, mentioned on the hotel amenities page, the reply was just: "We don't have a lounge anymore". Which was first disappointing, having the lounge as one reason for picking this hotel over the others last autumn (I know this is propably cheap, but I like sitting down and having a soda or a drink). But since changes happen it wasn't so much the fact that the lounge was closed, which of course could be mentioned in the Hotel announcements and at least taken away from the amenities list, but more the style of the statement. Another experience was when I asked the front desk for another blanket, since we maybe again strangely prefer individual blankets instead of the huge king size one. First question was why and then after explaining the next comment was how many, maybe four. I said that one extra would do very nicely and the person then promised to ask housekeeping for this. The blanket never showed up but we just didn't feel like asking for another time. Again propably a very minor thing, but not something I would expect from a hotel a this level. The concierge desk was excellent and helped us with tickets, directions and instructions on couple of occasions. I hope this doesn't come off us too picky or vain but it was just our expectations maybe being too high after seeing the new hotel category and a great stay at another SPG hotel in Toronto on the same trip. Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable beds, but amenities are lacking I expected more from a Westin. For the price paid, I did not feel the amenities were a good value. I received no recognition for being a Starwoods Preferred guest, I had to discover the Atrium lounge on my own. I was not informed of it as I was checking in. The front desk staff was very friendly and very helpful when asked for something. They all showed a willingness to help. Housekeeping staff was very nice, but there were streaks and spots all over the glass bathroom door, and visible mold showing on the shower ceiling. I didn't like the fact there is was no microwave or refrigerator in the room, unless you want to pay extra for the fridge. Also there was confusion around the pool. We were told there was no pool, and then someone said later there was a pool but only for preferred guests. You also have to pay extra to use fitness center, and to use internet. For the high price paid, I feel internet should be complimentary. July 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel is in a great location. When checking in we were not offered the option for points or free wi-fi, until we asked about it the next day. We had valet parking the first day then self parking after that, but were charged for valet parking until we asked about it when checking out, and there was still a charge on my credit card. Housekeeping did not restock the room with water and coffee on the last day before check out. So no coffee the morning of check out. We had 3 people in the room, but housekeeping always left only 2 towels, so we had to get more. July 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by GREAT SERVICE Only issue was having loud teenagers down the hall. Management should never host Seniors and unrelated teenagers on the same floor since the kids are clueless as to how sound carries their 2 A.M. hall visits. Sleep interrupted 3 out of our 8 nights stay and got only lip service from the desk. Otherwise, staff was professional & accommodating & the room & location were worth the premium cost. July 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location in NYC We stayed at the Westin and it was my first time in NYC. The hotels location is fantastic, the rooms are very roomy we stayed on the 37th floor overlooking the Hudson River - beautiful. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and helpful. What a wonferful stay we had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone vising NYC it has prime position and the staff as so friendly and accommodating. July 17, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing staff, immaculate hotel, ideal location The entire staff at the hotel made the hotel a level higher. The location is one block from Times Square and rooms overlook 42nd Street. The infamous beds of the Westin lived up to their reputation as the rooms and the comfort of the beds were a definite haven from the hustle and bustle of NYC...especially the highest tourist district in the city. Recommend if looking to stay in the theatre district no doubt! July 14, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Customer Service Starwood properties are the best. If a problem arises they handle it professionally. My room was beautiful. On 37th room. You cannot beat the location for theatre, Birdland and BB Kings. Spent three nights. Front desk and connoisseur were excellent. July 11, 2012
