Overall, the stay was very enjoyable and the facilities were first rate. The only glitch is that a wake-up call was not made on the morning of my departure, causing me to rush to the airport to make my flight. I should have also set the clock radio alarm, so I take part of the blame.
Staff was "business" friendly and fairly knowledgeable, but not over the top outstanding. The manager of the gift shop was very sweet, which led me to purchase more than I anticipated, but that's OK. I would recommend.

My husband and I are Westin members. We love Westin and stay at Westin whenever we travel. This was my first experience at this resort. While the resort seems incredible, my room was not. I was placed next to an elevator that kept me up all night long. In addition, the cable went out. The $400 I spent was not at all worth the lack of sleep and comfort i endured. I tried to convey this to the staff and was directed to a manager who is out of the country. We will see how things are handled.

This resort was recommended to me by a friend and I had such an amazing trip, I plan to come back in a few months with my family. Most impressive is how every staff member I encountered stopped and greeted me, even when taking out the trash. With all of the activities they offer: pool, spa, golf course and proximity to shopping and dining there is no need for a car. It was the most relaxing and easy getaway. Love the lazy river and look forward to Flow riding with my boys on my next visit!

Wow, this hotel has something for everyone in the family! My daughter and husband played the awesome golf course twice, and my 8 year old loved the pool, slide, lazy river and especially the Flow Rider where you can boogie board! My son also enjoyed the Kids Night out, and we enjoyed going to listen to the bagpipes in the evening, and went to some of the fun kids activities including "Build a Buddy" where he stuffed an animal friend. I used the gym twice! It was an awesome family resort!

As an SPG Platinum member, I was surprised at the lack if service my family received. Upon check-in, the customer representative was non-smiling, and did not detail my benefits as a platinum guest. Guest rooms were a bit outdated. It was also unfortunate that my family did not have the chance to golf, even to use the range, as it was only open from 2pm rather than the whole day!?! I have stayed with many Westin hotels, and I am surprised at the minimal service received at this resort.

This resort felt luxurious yet somehow also down-to-earth. The golf course and grounds were pristine. Even though I am not a golfer I enjoyed the grounds very much, especially the quintessential bagpiper at dusk. The fire pit was a great place to hang with a martini. Even though I was a solo traveler, I wasn't at a loss for company and everyone was friendly without being clingy or smarmy. The restaurants served up decent cuisine although I thought the food was overpriced. I guess that's par for the course (no pun intended) in a resort setting. The quiet pool was very relaxing. The only downside to this resort I would say is that you are a little isolated but there is a lot to do with all of the shopping and restaurants just down the hill. It would be a great spot for any wedding, corporate event or reunion.

Beautiful grounds, building, lobby. Check-in was odd - desk clerk simply didn't know answers (restaurants, etc., ) Room was comfortable, but an irritating mechanical noise caused frustration / sleep issues.
The restaurant was simply awful - slow service, inadequate menu (we've seen rom service in other hotels with better selection), and the food served was average to poor. (and the hotel's best restaurant -- closed -- too bad!).
Overall, a much below standard Westin experience.

See the local sites up close while you exercise on a three mile group run led by a Westin Hotel Running Concierge. Runners of all levels are welcome.
but when I got to the hotel, neither the concierge nor the fitness center knew they supposedly had a "running concierge" and I was just given a local running map.

Let's start with the major positive: staff. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the servers in the restaurants, to the pool attendants, absolutely everyone had a smile on their face and was eager to make sure my experience was positive. It's rare to find that culture throughout an organization, especially one in hospitality. That being said, I've come to expect a bit more from the Westin brand, especially with regard to frequent travelers. In every other property at which I've stayed so far this year, the details are what stand out - bottled water in the room (almost mandatory in the desert), type of room (e.g., king vs. 2 queen beds, proximity to elevator, upper vs. lower floor), even my preference as to type of pillow - all of these were spot on EXCEPT for at this location. I've little doubt that if I mentioned any of these things to the front desk, all would have been handled expeditiously. Again, a tribute to the staff. But days were long and time was short. Plus, I shouldn't have had to as these are all "known quantities" about me based on my SPG profile. For those of us that travel a great deal, all those "little things" make the journey just that much easier. I suspect this experience will be the exception to the rule, but it was worth noting. Especially so given SPG's very overt claims that this attention to detail is a primary component to their value proposition.

We stayed from 12/15-12/28, so it was 2 weeks in a hotel, the most we have ever done. Staff was exceptional. Westin quality for the hotel and grounds. Experienced two days, about 6 hours each time, without water (water main issue on site) which means no showers, no toilets etc and 4 times where TV did not connect (HDMI issue, but not fixed so it would not occur again). The property is maintained very well, so hopefully this was not an average infrastructure issue.

I got the holiday package deal for my girlfriend for Christmas. It came with the following:
$100 resort credit
access to flowrider
holiday light show
Make sure to get your balance at the end of stay, because they did not credit me the $100 until I said something.
Also access to the flowrider does not mean it is included you still have to pay.
And the holiday light show was cancelled the night I was there, I heard it was a must see.
Also my shower was broken. They did come fix it immediately, but I don't need someone in my room at 8 in the morning just so I can get clean and dressed.
I am a little upset that for $313 all I got was the $100 after I said something about it.
There are plenty of more affordable resorts that are more accommodating.
Will not stay here again unless offered a deal that is what it portrays to be.

My "ONLY" negative comment is that the starter for our scramble golf tournament was rude and not very accommodating. Our scramble tournament was done in under 4.5 hours, extremely fast for a scramble. The includes the back nine, Mesquite course, being cart path only. Due to the cart path only, pace slowed down accordingly yet the starter complained to MANY groups that they were going too slow and was very rude.
Otheriwse the entire experience was winderful.

The carpet in 4140 had numerous black stains (looked like black ink) across it. The cold-water faucet in the bathroom was extremely hard to turn off/on. The air conditioner was cool--never cold. I turned it down to 60 degrees but it would work a little, then shutoff. I thought turning it down so low might make the room cooler but the a/c just didn't work right.The maid did a good job of cleaning--just the room was not in good maintenance order--not maid's fault.

I am a fan of this brand and recommend it frequently. However i was disappointed with my recent experience at the Deseo rstr in Scottsdale. The staff forgot to provide us one of our dishes on the New Year's Eve prix fixe. After we pointed it out, we were asked "if we still wanted it". Then when we received the dish it was incomplete and had to be returned. Minor issues overall but disappointing when you consider a $350 dinner for 2.

My wife and I just spent 4 nights at the Kierland. It is one of our favorite hotels. The location next to the Kierland Commons is very convenient for shopping and dining (no need to drive!). The service is great and the setting is beautiful. However, the "resort fee" is really low rent and detracts from the overall experience. This "nickel and dime" treatment is akin to the disrespect shown by the airlines. I do not understand how a Starwood member who has

I was amazed by the grounds. So well kept and beautiful. The outdoor fireplaces, library, fountains, everything was top notch. Having said that, the food was not up to par, the bathroom near my conference was constantly stinky and the small lighted mirror in my room didn't work. As great restaurants are close by, I would definitely return.

Beautiful property with friendly staff. Valet is very quick. My room had a beautiful view of the golf course and the private balcony was great.. The rooms were clean comfortable. The front desk staff should be more well versed in applying resort credits. My reservation said I would get a $25 per day resort credit. This was never applied. I intended on using it for a spa treatment. Instead I only received the $25 credit for a certificate I brought with me.

Great gym. Very friendly staff. Beautiful interiors on the hotel. Would say that closing the kids pool and water slide at 5pm really makes no sense to me. The sun is up, we are down from rainy Seattle but had a full day. Kids really looking forward to the swim but we arrived 10 minutes before closing. Adult pool a pretty boring alternative for kids.
All else very good or excellent. Breakfast for an adult and two kids at $70 a bit on the crazy side :)

As an attendee for infusioncon2013, where 2300 people were meeting on the exact same schedule, I was concerned about the short break times alloted between sessions. But, thanks to the Westin Hospitality team, every meal was prepared and served in such a way as to move over two thousand people thru buffet lines that never backed up, never stalled, and moved with time to enjoy the excellent meals provided and to have extra time to network and relax. .

My husband and I spent four nights here over Thanksgiving and everything was top notch. The Thanksgiving Buffet itself was opulent and tasty. My husband loved the golf course, I used the Westin Workout and walked to the shops next door to the hotel. The holiday light show was a real treat for kids AND adults! The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean and beautiful. The Kierland is a good choice for both couples and families.

This is a beautiful hotel. My only disappointment was the Go Green option. This was not explained to me at check in & unfortunately, I did not read the card clearly that was on my bed. I thought I was opting out of having clean linens daily (clean towels/sheets) which I was fine with.Beware-it means no new coffee each day, a dirty sink and an un-made bed everyday (what's green about that?). I was also told you can't opt out once in. Why?

While the hotel was clean it seemed a little over priced for what you get. The pool and lazy river looked nice but it was not warm enough to really enjoy them. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The air conditioning in my room was not working properly. The air never got below 70 in the room. The mini refrigerator was broken. I spoke to Shane, he will be giving me a complimentry night. Still waiting to get that email. The other issue is with pool area. Since part of the area has brick pavers not cool decking, it makes it very hard to walk around with no shoes. It's extremely hot. Be careful with small children, it will burn them.

We have stayed at the Kierland in the past and upgraded to the club level for the continental breakfast and happy hour. We did again this time and were disappointed to discover the happy hour no longer existed. There were specials in the restaurant lounge but they were available to all guests, not those in the club level. I'm not sure it was worth the additional expense for free continental breakfast. Wish we had been told at check in.

Excellent location, a couple of questions I would have to the staff...
1) Staying at such a nice resort, seems odd that there is a Plunger located right next to the toilet...
2) Having a Casita Suite, I would at least expect to have some stock of kitchen type products and a microwave. I usually get a microwave when I stay in way less expensive and less "stature" type of hotel. Huge refrigerator and no means to reheat anything.

The Westin Kierland is a luxurious hotel and spa that has a fantastic atmosphere. The setting on the edge of a golf course looking out to the mountains was breath taking anytime of day. The staff were courteous and friendly. The food was delicious, especially the breakfast buffet with a wonderful selection of fresh fruit and pastries every morning. The Agave Spa was a heavenly experience. I have never felt more relaxed in my life.

There were three main issues I had staying here which caused me not to refer people here or wish to stay here again.
1. The bathroom smelled like mildew. I am sure this was caused by a shower drain that has not been cleaned out for a long time. I spent $400 the first night and $200 and night for the next 3 nights. I expected much more.
2. The hotel is a mega maze. I've never gotten lost going to my room so much as I did this past week.
3. Directions or signage to show where restraints are. We had to ask several people where the Restraunts were just so we could eat. My experience locating somewhere to eat should be easy and intuitive. Instead, I was frustrated and went to bed one night gingery. We ended up dinning out every evening somewhere else.
Because of this experience I won't stay here again or recommend the hotel / resort TK anyone.

We went for a wedding and loved this hotel. The setting is incredible, easy access to shopping and restaurants. The service was exceptional all except for the main restaurant. The service there was really slow to none. Room service was twice as fast.
Great pool area with lots of seating. I have been to other resorts where you have to be up at the crack of dawn to get a seat by the pool, here you have choices. Great place to relax.

A towel in my room was torn and looked like someone's rag, the shower in the room next to mine was louder than my shower, service in bar and restaurant were so slow that I had to get up and get my own drinks from the bar and pour my own coffee, told consierge of my concerns and she said the manager would call me. Hah. What a laugh. I KNEW no one would call me. Ridiculous for such a high end place to be such a disappointment.
