Rated 2 out of 5 by davide69g this hotel doesn't have basic facilities
I never face in my entire life such big trouble to pay on check-out.
It is really unusual find hotel in the world who don't accept US note just because some of them are little scratched or even tho because the note have been issue before year 2000!!!!
This is unacceptable!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ecbatana The Westin Dhaka: Like an oasis in the desert
This hotel is exceptional. I have had the opportunity to stay at this property many times over the last few years. In terms of total nights stayed, I have spent several months at this Westin. While the property itself is exceptional, it is the quality staff and service that really makes it stand out. Catering primarily to business clientele, it nonetheless accomodates families quite nicely.
- The fitness facility great! Well maintained, well outfitted and clean
- The spa/sauna/jacuzzi is excellent
The massage treatment is hit and miss. I've had a good experience with a masseuse who knew what she was doing and another with an amateur.
- Executive Club makes this property shine. The staff is friendly, professional and really make you feel as if you are the only guest on the property.
- DINING -
- Taste (an on-premise restaurant) makes absolutely outstanding food - my favorite being the Indian/Bangladeshi dishes by far. But beleive it or not the sushi is quite good as are the other western style options. Only issue here is that the restaurant can get really busy on the weekends and there is no preference for hotel guests when this happens. Not that big of a deal but something to keep in mind.
-Prego is located on the top floor of the hotel and offers spectacular views out over the Gulshan area. Again, the food is excellent and generally I have found it to be less busy than Taste. Try the Spaghetti Bolognese.
-Splash. Thursday nights there is a BBQ by the pool which is terrific. Meat, poultry and fish are made to order on the spot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Matheosnyc Surprisingly overpriced
As a fan of the Westin hotel chain, I usually prefer to stay here when going overseas since I can expect consistent great quality and comfort, whichever city I visit. However, upon staying at the Westin Dhaka Hotel, I was incredibly disappointed with the customer service of the general manager there, and the type of room I stayed in was incredibly overpriced. In Dhaka, the rooms are almost double the cost when compared to other Westin Hotels worldwide, and with lower quality. I received poor service, a regular room, poor food quality, minimal choices of food, and all this for double the price of what the Westin normally charges in other locations. If the manager was more responsive and accommodating, I would have felt better, but unfortunately he was not at all. I will definitely not stay at this location again, and it has tainted my previously exceptional view of the Westin chain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ConditionOne Great SPG property in Dhaka
This hotel is located about 20 minutes from the airport in Gulshan. If there’s no traffic, it’s about 20 minutes north of where all the touristy sites are. I booked a hotel car from the airport for $28, and I easily found the driver after exiting customs. Unlike other hotel pickup services, a cold facecloth or bottle of water was not offered. You’ll need to pass through a metal detector at the hotel entrance, and the guards are packing Lee-Enfield rifles that predate WWII. At reception, I was greeted with a glass of cinnamon apple juice. All room types were available at the time of check-in, but when it appeared that they were going to put me into a standard room, I asked if there were any upgrades available. A quick look in the computer put me in an Executive Suite.
The Executive Suite is a generous size at the end of the hallway. It has a separate toilet near the entrance of the room, a rainfall showerhead, and more bottles of water than you can shake a stick at. The work desk is a bit cramped, and the design had me painfully bumping my legs against parts of it throughout my stay. I’m a light sleeper and could hear the call to prayer from my room, but it wasn’t loud enough to bother me, or wake me up. You can hear a little traffic, but it’s not too bad either. WiFi speeds were good, and I was using a VPN too.
As far as the Platinum amenity goes, you can have a continental breakfast in the Lounge each morning, or if you can forgo your 500 points and have breakfast in the restaurant downstairs, which is what I did. Breakfast in Tastes is pretty spectacular, with Asian, Indian, and Western food options. You can’t go wrong there. Room service prices appeared 10-20% higher than in the States.
Continental breakfast in the lounge is served from 6:30am-10:30am. Evening snacks are served from 5:30pm-7:30pm, and is one of the more impressive lounge offerings I’ve seen. Cheese, desserts, sushi, mini-sandwiches, several hot items (i.e. mushroom quiche, chicken sharwma wraps, fried calamari, chicken satay), and two types of pizza. Alcohol and soft drinks were also available. You can easily have dinner in the Lounge.
Or if you’re feeling hungrier than that, Tastes has a dinner buffet that is even more impressive. Food quality looked really high, but it wasn’t cheap. Seafood night runs 4800++BTD, and normal buffets are 4300++BTD.
The gym is packed with equipment, and opens at 6am. I was told by the front desk that if you needed access to it during closed hours, somebody will let you in. Massage prices are around 6800++BTD for 60 minutes. A hotel car will cost $18++/hour. I found a taxi outside where I negotiated what I felt was a generous 700 taka/hour.
Also, I felt the hotel’s best asset was their staff. They were all super friendly with an excellent grasp of English, remembered my name, and engaged people in meaning conversation. The service was top notch. The concierge even gave me his personal cell number in case I needed translation help while sightseeing! This is definitely one of the top SPG properties I’ve stayed at.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Khan77 This hotel needs improvement
I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions since 2009. I travel for business and between myself & business partners we stay at the Westin Dhaka at least 5 times a year .It is the premier hotel in Dhaka so we have limited option. In the beginning we did enjoy our stays however the standard seems to have deteriorated over the last 4 years. It
seems that management takes our loyalty for granted as there are only two 5 star hotels in the region. We prefer staying at the Westin because of the hotels standard of excellence world wide and the central location. It makes me sad to admit that I will actually consider another hotel in the future unless they improve standards drastically . Firstly the staff at reception are not friendly or helpful, namely the duty manager who we met on
Secondly the cleanliness of the staff and the cleaning of rooms leaves a lot to be desired.
Carpets are never vacuumed unless requested and I always stay in a executive or deluxe suit.
The bathrooms as well have mildew everywhere. It is not appealing in the least, the hotel has an unfortunate damp odor that envelopes you everywhere you go. The rates are very high comparatively and require urgent review . I would not mind paying the rate if the standard of excellence which is emphasized by all Starwood hotels & in particular Westin hotels was met. However in this instance I am sorely disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChaseCha Excellent facilities and Good Service
I would like to recommend this hotel for its good accomodation, excellent facilities and excellent service from hotel staffs. Every morning my day brightens because most of the staff greets and always smiling in which helps to start my day. Also, I would like to recommend housekeeping staff who cleans my room everyday, their names are Nazmul and Habib. I find it very relaxing everytime I go back to my room from a busy and tiring day. My bed is well organized, my shoes are well organized as well and my supplies like shampoo, and conditioner are well provided. In case I need another item like mouthwash I just wrote a note and they will provide as well.
Congratulations for having staffs like Habib and Nazmul and also those staff in the lobby as they will help the guests start their day in a good way.
