Rated 5 out of 5 by Great weekend at the Westin Diplomat Everything about the Diplomat was awesome. From the moment we walked thru the front doors to the moment we left, was like being in paradise. The beautiful flowers and lush greeneries, the great pools and beach, and the wonderful employees made for a wonderful time. The spa is first class. April 7, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel This hotel ranks right up there with one of our favourite places to stay. Each year we make it a point to stay at the Diplomat. We have always had great service at this hotel. I would like to personal extend a thank you to Mauricio (club floor) is the best. We left a package behind (which we had completely forgotten about) and he ensured that we got it. The Diplomat has a great beach and is close for shopping and at the end of the day if you just want to get lost in paradise, you can. The only negative we had was a meal at Rivals. Rated 2 out of 5 by CONF:351116067 and 761116067 The hotel is quite nice (architecture, decoration and location) however the service is one of the worst I ever seen in a hotel even a two stars. Moreover: they have improperly charged $267.51 twice charged, which I assumed was a mistake made in my SPG webpage which was immediately solved reinstating the reservations as anybody can easily see. Despite of calls and fax nobody as provided attention to my claim. April 21, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Booking and Charges Beware of additional charges. When I booked the room, the total shown was ~1800.00. When I checked in, the amount authorized was ~2900.00 which was completely unexpected. Two of my cards were swiped for the total. My boyfriend came and used his card to hold the room and I thought everything would be OK. Since my cards were swiped, the charges were held and I was told would be taken off within 24 hours. I had no other source of income because one of them was my debit card. It took 4 days for the charges to be taken off my debit card and 5 days for the charges to be taken off my credit card. The credit card companies both stated that it was the responsibility of Westin to remove the hold. So between the three cards, Westin held onto ~6600.00 for something that should have cost ~1800.00. I don't think I will be staying there again. April 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel Overall we had a great stay. Other than the check-in or any further interaction with the staff on the check-in desk, the hotel is perfect. There are 10 check-in counters and generally there is 2 people attending to customers. Every time I went there I had to wait in line for at least 30 minutes. I'm not sure what the hotel management is doing, but it is pretty pathetic that they are not staffed on the front desk adequately. The lady who was standing in front of me with a 1 year old in her hand, got so angry that she was yelling at concierge, to bring some more people to the front desk. She waited at least 25 minutes. Anytime I walk by the front desk there is at least 10 people in the queue. Considering there are 2 people standing outside the main door to open the door, this wait is ridiculous.
