Firstly we booked to view the fireworks over the new year countdown but was told that none of the rooms facing KLCC was available. I booked City View and one would have thought this is the right room facing the twin towers? Obviously I need to learn more hotel jargons.
Secondly I booked a room with twin bed but was checked into a King size bed [30+ F] then needed to switch to a lower floor [18F].
I was offered amenities which I select something like 9 chocolates that did not turn up. Kids were disappointed!
Room wall has water stain and wall paper peeling off. Very unsightly and un-Westin-like.
After I checked out, found someone has hit my car which was parked on B1. The duty manager acted swiftly with a security to the carpark with me to take pictures and a brief report. Promised to check the CCTV for any evidence.
A couple of hours later I had a call [believe it was the duty manager but I was not paying too much attention as I was driving], only offered that I could make a police report and given me the registration number of the car that hit my car.
I have made decision to not make a report due to the minor damage to my car, but nevertheless this has been a very bad experience.
I have to say this is a most disappointing trip I have had with any SPG hotels.

I read with some amusement some of the negative reviews for this hotel. I have stayed here numerous times, mostly on 2-night weekend getaways, and have rarely encountered problems. I admit there are occasional lapses in service standards, which happens a bit more frequently when the occupancy rate is high, but generally these mistakes are quickly rectified. So this recent stay, as with many others, went fairly smootly, with no major complaints.
The KL Westin attains perfection in terms of its location. Here, you are in the very heart of KL, within walking distance of at least three huge malls. Even the pedestrian walkways are vibrant with all sorts of stalls and street vendors and other activities! The nearby food court, Hutong, is interesting for its array of local dishes, though standards vary vastly among the stalls. Along with all the shopping, you are also spoilt for choice when it comes to dining options. Just the nearest mall alone, Pavilion, offers a staggering smorgasbord of restaurants. Hence, for its location, you have to pay a premium to stay here. More often than not, this is the priciest SPG property in the city.
The hotel is nice and modern and welcoming, and most importantly well maintained. Rooms, regardless of where you face, generally have a good light-flow. And though not the biggest, they are comfortably sized. The Heavenly Bed is well… heavenly! Platinum guests take note, they have only one suite per floor, so upgrades can be hard to come by. The Executive Lounge, which was recently expanded and moved down to the third level, is arguably one of the best in any SPG property! It is bright and spacious, and the décor is characteristically Westin, warm and chic!
So yes, I would pay more to stay here!

What I like about Westin KL was its convenient location and friendly/helpful staff. However during my recent stay, there were a few glitches that the management should be aware of:
1. My room was not cleaned till early afternoon and this was after a call to the front desk at around 1130AM. This normally doesn't happen in a 5 star hotel and I didnt think the hotel was full. Situation imporved the second day and my room was promptly cleaned in the morning.
2. I used the amenities provided in the room but found it odd that housekeeping staff would remove the toothpaste that still has plenty left as well as the shaving razor I left by the sink. I didnt quite appreciate this as it was wasteful and did not meet the environmental awareness your hotel is promoting i.e. reused the towels.
3. There was no room service menu in the room and I had to ask for one, again a lack of paying attention to details.
4. I was assigned to a room that, I later found out, was next to the service entrance and could hear the noise of the service elevator and service carts banging against each other constantly. Luckily it didnt interupt my rest. I would suggest that the front desk staff should notify the guest when assigning such a room.
Other than these minor things I had a wonderful stay and would return. I hope the hotel would not be offended by my comment as these are my experience that I am willing to share for the better of this fine hotel.

I have stayed in numerous five star hotels around the world. This is one of the hotel with worst concierge service. On arrival, there were no concierge staff to assist with unloading my luggages from my car. My wife had to physically go to the concierge desk to get someone to assist. And on departure, I rang the concierge desk 15 minutes in advance to request them to collect my luggages but by the time I went to check out, my luggages still sitting outside my room. I have to informed the staff assisting me to check out of this issue. He then contacted the concierge desk. Then I realised that 3 of the concierge staffs was chatting to each other, playing with their smart phone rather than attending to my request. They were still chatting until the staff has to go across to the concierge desk to order them to collect my luggages. It was 7am in the morning with minimal hotel guests in the lobby. There and then he only went to collect my luggages. I was waiting very impatient at the taxi outside the hotel waiting for the luggages to arrive and then have to help out unloading the luggages from his trolley whilst 2 other staff were just chatting to each other.
Nevertheless, both the hotels rep were very polite and helpful assisting me in checking in and out of the hotel.
I was particularly impressed with Joe(no surname shown on name tag) who actually reminded me whether I have left anything in the safe, nothing mentioning offering to help me to get a taxi.

1st impression was Fantastic!!
Booked for a night stay with family.
Stayed in the Club room on 20th March'2013.
Had the corner room at level 33 with the view of the Pavilion at Menara Tower.
Right from the very start upon arrival, had driven to hotel n was greeted warmly by the bellhop n valet.
Upon entering the hotel, was actually trying to figure out where's the club checkin and was approached by Ben, who greeted us warmly and even send us all the way up to the newly renovated Executive Club Lounge. (Beautiful lounge).
Mr Said at the lounge was very helpful with my check-in.
The staffs at the Lounge were all extremely friendly n approachable.
Concierge was very helpful with his useful info about the transportation advice when approached.(Extremely informative).
Check-out was a breeze as well.
We had a fabulous stay and the Breakfast adventure at the Living Room offers great variety of choices.
If not for the unpleasant incident during breakfast that we witnessed and that terrified my kids badly, I would had given my stay the ratings of Best Hotel stay ever experienced.
ps; By the way, the unpleasant incident was Definitely by No fault of any of the staffs. It was a complete misunderstanding and showed us the Biggest bully i had ever seen. I feel so sorry for your staffs and manager that they had to face such a brute who abused them verbally this way. Completely disappointed such a racist/bully exist.
I will definitely come back to this hotel because there are such wonderful staffs.
Your staffs are what makes this stay Fantastic.
Please keep up the fantastic work.

On 5th of Aug 2013,I was brought my wife and my baby boy checked in to this hotel for 1night stayed. After experienced the 1night stayed, I have some feedback would like to provide to the hotel management for the hotel improvement and encouragement for those staff who provided a good service to us.
1) Arrival at the hotel
When we arrive at the hotel, there was a polite and friendly bellman assisted us on our luggage (even we just stayed for 1night but we still have a lot of stuff need bellman's assistance to sent it to the room). But i have forgotten the bellman name.
2)Checking in for our room
That day is a girl assisted us for the checking in process. The girl is polite but no smile at all, not friendly at all! First image was out! She also did not provide any information to us, when we asking question only she answered the question (if we did not ask then we will never know any additional information for the hotel. She should give us more information and suggestion such as got any facilities we can enjoy in the hotel or let us know that our reservation is not included breakfast and she actually can suggest us can enjoy your hotel breakfast on the next day morning by paying the breakfast charges). Another matter to highlight is when we asked the information regarding the car park fee and the way how to pay for it, she did not give a proper information to us. She just informed us that how much for the car park fee and informed us that we can pay it at the front desk or at the car park (machine). Due to her incorrect information it caused us a inconvenience when we going to drove our car to other places. It is because she informed us that we can pay it at the car park so we straight go to the car park from our room. But when we going to pay for the charges at the machine there,we found that the charges is different with her information. So I have to walked back to the front counter to check for it (wasted time!) . After I checked it she only told me that if pay at the front desk will be cheaper due to we are the hotel guest! She should let us know earlier! For me, this was really not a good experienced.
3) After checked in to the room
The room was nice and clean. I like the bed the most! I have called to the front desk requested for the late c/o at 2pm and they fulfilled my request without any extra charges. I was surprised and satisfied with this good service provided. Another good feedback to highlight, the same bellman assist us to sent our luggage to the room and we asked him for the extra mineral water. He was helpful ,asked the housekeeping send us extra 10bottles of the mineral water. He really provided a good services to us with his good smile. Besides that, we really felt comfortable stay on that day.
4) Hotel facilities
This thing I have to give the feedback and hopefully the hotel management can take note on this matter. I have been been many hotels in Malaysia and Singapore, most of the hotel provide free of charge for the car park charges to their hotel guest. I'm was surprised when your good hotel is charging me on the car park fee. For me, Car park is considered as a hotel facility too so I'm not really satisfied with this charges. Example: If the hotel rate is increasing, your good staff will always explain that we have upgrading the hotel facilities to satisfy guests demand. So that your hotel rate is not only for the room and it is also for the hotel facility so why your good office still want to charge us on this charges? Hopefully your good management will take note on this matter.
5) Checking out
Everything is efficiency on the process. After we paid the payment (include parking fee but we did not go back on the spot,we continue walked around the shopping centre there so our car still parked at the hotel). After we finished shopping, we went back to the front desk for the scanning of the car park ticket. We double confirmed with the staff is that the ticket can be used and she confirmed to us. But when we going to leave the car park and we insert the ticket, the ticket is invalid! How come this still happened after we got the confirmed from the staff?!!Luckily, the guard there helped us on this if not wasted our time again!
