Rated 2 out of 5 by Lavangee Disappointing, Weak and Bad Service
The interleading door HANDLE between my two rooms were broken, The curtain was hanging off the rail. There was a plastic tag, torn off from a new clothing item that remained in the same place in the bathroom for 4 days. The response to requests was slow and sometimes non existent, and this was for being on the "Executive Floor". The WIFI was the worst ever. As for the slow breakfast service response times, horrible. Not WESTIN service. As for the FITNESS centre it was very small. with very little equipment. the open areas in the fitness centre was smaller than my bathroom and to top it off, they allow a Personal Trainer to conduct sessions in that little miserable excuse of a fitness centre.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DB1107 Poor customer service for a 5 star hotel
Staff were not very helpful, I was given the wrong room key which was occupied and I walked in. My bags were apparently taken to another room, I was not contacted about this mistake but had to go down and sort it out myself without so much as an apology. Reservations was made for 4 people which was confirmed telephonically, only 1 room was booked. The bathroom floor was still dirty, the toilet roll holder was broken. Reception staff remained unfriendly and were not very helpful throughout my stay. The "don't care" attitude is definitely not what I expected from a 5 star establishment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sylvie44 kindness of the persons
excellent hotel. Easy shuttles for waterfront and tourist buses
very convenient for the Convention center just in front
the traveler is welcomed very kindly from the beginning to the end of the stay.
Breakfast is delicious.
Only one caveat: air conditioning in the rooms is rather underpowered, and as usual a bit noisy

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ebis Good Location, fantastic view
The pool and spa area is not a party area! it is for guests who want to relax! People are walking through the spa and pool area in their street clothes and street shoes, swiming without having a shower before they enter, and they swim in underwear and t-shirts and are noisy and they think they are in a disco! Me and another guest left the premises, after we both made the people aware of the relaxing area, and they did not adhere to the regulations at all! No staff was available at the front desk ( 21h00). Guests should have excess with their room excesscard and not people from the street!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LPTRAVELS Nice and comfortable but...
This was my second stay at the Westin in Cape Town. It's a nice and comfortable hotel, the staff is very helpful however I would say that food is more than average for the hotel standard, both room-service selection and the two restaurants located on the ground floor. I was also disappointed not to find any outdoor space (ie. terrace) located in the hotel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Observer21 This hotel needs improvement
Disappointing stay. The room needs revamping, the kettle didn't work, I couldn't switch the TV on, the bathroom smelled, the coffee at breakfast never arrived and the promised emailed copy of the invoice still hasn't arrived. Staff seemed unwilling and ininterested in doing anything about my complaints

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anne88 A great hotel!
Although at first I was concerned that this hotel is next to the convention center (and might be too crowded, etc.) I was pleasantly surprised that this Westin was as good as any I have stayed in (and I am Platinum SPG). The rooms were great and the location not far from the V & A Waterfront a plus. Also having the "hop on hop off" stop right next store at the convention center was extremely convenient. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and I was particularly impressed with how quickly our room service orders were delivered. I would definitely stay there again.

From the first step to last goodbuy you are treated as one of the hotels special guest. Your car is park for you. The heavy luguage are brought up to your room, with a lovely view over Cape Town's beautiful mountain. The bathroom was something you want to put in your bag and carry home, because of the space, the mirror, the lights, the basins, everything is ment for celebrety's. Thank you for the friendly staff, the wonderly breakfast each morning that make our stay someting we will never forget. So many more to experience, to many to put in words. It is just superb!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mjm53 Love this hotel
In May of 2012 we did our 2nd 5 night stay. We used points for a club level room both times and absolutely loved it! This is one of the best club level rooms and lounges anywhere! Great breakfasts both continental and off the menu. Smoothies terrific! Happy hour from 5 to 7 was great. Service excellent. Club now serves dinner, 3 or 4 course with or without wine. (new since 09 stay).
Only complaint I had was when we arrived at 11 pm after 24 hour trip, the keys didn't work and it took 2 calls to desk to get a replacement. Bellboy had let us in the room so we weren't in the hallway waiting.
As said by others, shuttle to the waterfront runs smoothly and is needed as walk is not the greatest (but is walk able).

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sami Great location and staff
Thanks for a wonderful stay at westin, my wife and I enjoyed it so much the friendly staff, the organized tours, the location, the shuttle to the water front, and the breakfast!
The stay could have been superb if two things were fixed: the bed mattress was too soft, I had back pain because of it; I complained about it but there was no interest to fix it. The second thing is the hassle to access wifi every time it's a headache the standard procedure doesn't work and you have to ask for a voucher number... It's for free and it's supposed to make people feel comfortable but it was a source of frustration every time I check my mail!
Overall it was a great stay and the hotel staff and facilities made us really enjoy our trip to Cape Town.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kingdin Nice property but needs maintenance
The property is decent but the major issue was that the air conditioner in our room failed to cool the room down. This was a huge dissapointment and really left me with a sour taste of the hotel. I struggled to sleep and wasn't well rested at all due to this...
When I called reception about this, I was told that the maintenance guys had gone home already. A 5 Star hotel should have the necessary measures in place to take care of such issues 24/7.
Minor issue: Shower waste cover was loose and not fixed in place.
Nice comfortable bed. Free Wifi! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by Beth27 Wonderful Westin
One of the best Westins. They were full and could not offer me a late check-out. But they did offer the showers in the spa for us to freshen up. The breakfast in the Executive Lounge is plentiful and good quality although no change in the offerings for the past few years. Kepp up the great service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2002plat wonderful stay
We stayed at this hotel after 2.5 weeks in South Africa. The Hotel staff was wonderful. The Club lounges decor, food and drink is how all club lounges should be.
Our room (suite) was very clean and well appointed the floor to ceiling windows gave a great view. We also used the business services to assist us with shipping a package - they were very professional and helpful.
The only down side was trying to use the travel services desk (not westin staff) - do not use them unless you only want to be sold services with their tour companies !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dilin22 Great service and location
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The view was great and the room comfortable and quiet. But, the most important thing was that the service was outstanding and welcoming. The food on the 19th floor Executive Lounge was excellent too. I had a very positive experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

service at breakfast (behind counter) not great - dishes are not filled up as they empty and staff are having their own conversations, not attending to patrons' needs
long waiting time at reception to check in and out

Rated 4 out of 5 by Suse Recent Capetown stay
We had great time with very attentive staff particularly in Executive Club which was wonderful and friendly at all times, although there was confusion about level of breakfast included. <our most negative interaction was with check person as she was disinterested and quite frankly rude and hostile, and never acknowledged Star status until I asked if she had # on file. Then did not offer any amenity and had to go to desk later to find out what that would be. Still unclear what that might be. At check out the SPG# was not on the bill and the # needed to be reentered & there were a few billing errors. Rating would have been higher to a 5 except for this personnel issue. Also celebrating anniversaty on 8-26 & no acknowledgement of this. <nice shuttle service to V&A.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stopher1964 Another!!! Incredible stay
This was my second stay here at the Westin Cape Town, and I was just as impressed this stay as I was after the first. On both occasions, it was for a stay of 5 days, so I had a chance to try quite a few of the amenities of the property. I had just finished a month of trekking around Southern Africa and this was a perfect way to pamper myself, nice little oasis of luxury. The lounge for sundowners was THE perfect way to wrap up a day! Thank you again for a wonderful stay! Would I return? I CAN'T WAIT until the next visit!

Rated 2 out of 5 by CPTourist Great Hotel. No Internet
Everything was as you would expect from a Westin hotel, excellent. The only thing that was not is the most important to me. The internet did not work the entire week I was there. They would issue codes for the free internet and if you could log in at all you would be logged back out again in the matter of minutes. It was very hard to work from the hotel and the hotel staff said they have had this problem for months and are still trying to resolve it. I would call and see if there internet is fixed before going there.

Once again I had a splendid stay at the Westin Cape Town. I am grateful that I am recognised as an SPG Member at all times. The Club Floor is exceptional and the breakfast on the 19th Floor I am certain is unmatched in quality, service and efficiency anywhere else in Cape Town and of course the Panorama from this elevation is exceptional ! Always a great start to my morning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kw1906 Beautiful hotel with great service but a few issues that should be addressed
Very nice hotel with a good value. My only issue was the Internet service or lack thereof. For a major brand hotel that is so nice and beautiful and has so many great things going for it, I was quite disappointed with the Internet service that was not reliable and consistent that went out way too much and have to use a voucher number to access Internet was such a pain and inconvenient. I had to constantly put in a voucher number almost every time the computer wanted to be used. I was in an Executive Room with a workstation and printer which was a waste of money considering the spotty and unreliable Internet service. Even after putting a booster in the room to help with the signal it still was not good. This issue was very frustrating for me and made me enjoy my stay much less in an otherwise excellent hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by David Great location and service
Outstanding service with excellent accommodation. We were upgraded to the executive levels with access to the lounge. While my daughter was not staying with us, the host of the lounge welcomed her to have breakfast and cocktails with us. The hotel is right in the center of town and a 10 minute walk to the wharf area.
We did have a problem one day when the internet was down and we needed it. Otherwise, we had a great experience over the 5 nights/days we were there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bear04 Great stay in Cape Town
Our stay in at the Cape Town Westin was fantastic. Outside of it's great location, the hotel made sure everything was set for a great stay, including setting up restaurant reservations and great communication so that I didn't have to worry about a thing in traveling from the States. I was very appreciative of the ease and convenience of everything once I arrived. The SPG Executive lounge also fantastic, with great breakfast, and an incredible view of hte Waterfront

Rated 4 out of 5 by Vagabond Great location and view; amazing breakfast
The hotel shows exemplary guest recognition for SPG members and was very accommodating in providing the best possible room.
The staff on the executive floor could not have done more to ensure comfort of the guest. The view from the 19th floor is spectacular in good and bad weather and the breakfast is simply unrivaled in terms of freshness, preparation, and quality - both hot and cold items. I was simply overwhelmed.
The room had a lovely shower and nice towels. The design of the executive suite was somewhat awkward but fantastic to have a printer fax in the room (I would recommend placing the phone line in the right socket).
The staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly especially for a big hotel. It ran smoothly, efficiently and little to complain about but non smiles at the spa and early hallway vacuuming.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jody Stunning view
I think that the hotel offers great views, facilities and location. I was a bit dissapointed at the service upon check in, it was not what I expected from a 5star hotel. The service at Westin Excecutive Club room was exceptional, the Spa and even the parking. At the Breakfast, again I was disappointed, the staff at the breakfast check in counter was not friendly and need to learn soft skills. The food was good, but the service can really improve. I have stayed at many hotels in different parts and always have certain expectations, I feel that the staff lets down the 5 star rating at this hotel. Upon check out I received excellent service from, Ricardo. He was professional and polite and spoke clearly. So I had a mixed experience with regards to the contact I had with the staff at the hotel. I hope that they can improve this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kumaran My experience at Westin
The Westin exceeded all my expectation. There is an elegance about it that makes you feel of royalty. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It will give me great pleasure to choose to stay at the Westin on my next trip to Cape Town.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MrBoyd Some areas fall well below required standard
This Westin is a reasonable business hotel. The pool and spa facilities are very good, as is the breakfast served in the Executive Club Lounge. Unfortunately the level of customer service and performance of many (but not all) members of staff is poor. Service Express requests are forgotten, phones not answered or calls disconnected. At the front desk some members of staff are happy to make you wait for them to finish chatting to colleagues.
