Rated 5 out of 5 by My 2nd Home GREAT EXPERIENCE EVERYTIME. Thanks to the friendly staff and wonderful service October 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cape Town Shuttle Service needs to be increased or use a larger vehicle. The needs outweigh the availability especially during the evening hours. December 31, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Spacious and modern hotel Overall a great experience ! Stayed 1 nite only Few issues : Shower : 1.flow was not adequate and cud not obtain the the right temperature easily 2.Drain placed in wrong area as one had to literally stand on it while showering ! 3. Only 1 soap provided , one really needs 2! Curtains Drawing the curtains was not easy as one had to b careful not to damage them and it would not concertina gracefully , also the 2 drapes on the right were fixed ... Disappointing ! Also the metal at bottom of the drape was sticking out and can easily hurt someone! Additional tissue dispenser at the pedestal at headboard wud have been welcomed! August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by another great stay Thanks Team Westin my five day stay was made more comfortable and enjoyable thought your efforts August 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Would Stay Again Great location and definitely a plus to have free shuttle service to the Waterfront shops and restaurants. Amenities are within walkable distance (5 mins) up Lower Long Street. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend visitors to dine in the Westin Executive Club or treat themselves to a spa service on the 19th floor as it offers spectacular views. Buffet breakfast offers a wonderful spread. While acceptable, more attention could be paid to the cleanliness of the rooms (esp the walls of the room and bathroom). Also, requested room servicing twice but replenishment of amenities were not provided. Overall though would stay again! September 18, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dont stay here if you need good internet services The hotel is great but the internet service is sadly not. Planitum Starwood Guests all over the world usually have good and unrestricted internet download . This is the first Westin I have ever stayed in that is restricting the internet service so you have to pay for normal service. I would not recommend any SPG business people stay here .. Rated 4 out of 5 by Near city center, good quality of foods This hotel is next to CTICC where I participated in an international conference. It is in city center and about 15 minute walk to W&A waterfront and green market. The hotel served a very good breakfast and overal tasty and organic foods. October 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by PERFECTION IN THE SHADOW OF TABLE MOUNTAIN OVERALL IMPRESSION: This beautiful, newish property meets and exceeds all of the Westin brand standards but with the added bonus of very chic decor that puts it on par with the best design hotels. There is definitely the electric feel of being at the centre of the city’s social and business life with lots of activity all the time. The property features beautiful dining venues and a state-of-the-art Executive Club which also offers dining. SPG RECOGNITION: Initially a suite upgrade was not available but the staff worked tirelessly to make one possible and we were offered the possibility to switch to a Junior Suite for the last three nights of our stay. We received Welcome Amenities THREE times - including the most delicious full-size birthday cake with inscription. The Platinum Amenity breakfast is an extremely well-furnished buffet (even sushi) in the Executive Lounge. The Cocktail Hour includes a small but lovely selection of served appetizers rather than the usual buffet but with a virtual open bar. THE ROOM: The Westin WorkOut Room is quite spacious and elegantly decorated. The Junior Suite includes a separate sitting area and a very large bath with double vanity, deep-soak tub and private toilet compartment. All rooms have a great floor-to-ceiling wall of glass and there are spectacular views in all directions. Our 17th floor suite afforded a view spanning from Table Mountain to Signal Hill to Robben Island. LOCATION: Attached to the Conference Center in the heart of the action - convenient to the CBD as well as the entertainment areas of Long Street and the V&A Waterfront for which there is a frequent complimentary shuttle throughout the day and until relatively late in the evening. There is a stop of the Hop On Hop Off Tour directly in front of the hotel. EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS: We were in Cape Town to celebrate my partner’s landmark birthday and through the coordinated efforts of my Platinum Ambassador, Karen, and on-site Duty Manager, Zara, EVERY POSSIBLE EFFORT to make this event memorable was made - including the arrangement of an absolutely beautiful champagne picnic hamper for us to bring out to Cape Point to make a birthday toast at “the ends of the earth!” ONE THING TO KNOW: Just adjacent to the hotel is a pier from which departs a lovely 15-min cruise through the new canal down to the V&A Waterfront. It costs just 30R and is extremely pleasant. March 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best hotel in Cape Town This hotel exceeded all my expectations during the stay. The gym, sauna and swimming pool facilities overlook Cape Town harbour and has a very relaxing feel to it. You find yourself in a different world while in the swimming pool! It is phenomenal! I booked a relaxing massage and unfortunately the experience was not up to Westin standards. For one, the spa therapist was late for her appointment and she worked very quickly just to complete the massage. I paid for an one hour massage but she only gave a 50 min massage. It was very unprofessional. In spite of the bad experience with the massage, I would still recommend the hotel. September 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Hotel with Very Good Value for Money Stayed at this hotel for business. It has an excellent location with the V & A Waterfront a 10 minute walk (if you want) or they run a courtesy shuttle bus too. The staff are all very, very friendly and all of my needs were exceeded. This was from the staff at the door, reception, bar, restuarants, spa, room attendents etc - all fantastic. The breakfast is certainly the biggest choice that I have ever seen - very impressive I have to admit. My view from the room was stunning (14th floor) with also a great view from the infinity pool at the spa. The next time I am in Cape Town this will definitely be the hotel that I stay in.. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good place to rest Overall the Hotel is situated in an excellent location and it is very clean and neat. On my next visit with my family I will most certainly consider the Westin Hotel September 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel! As an SPG Gold member, we received an upgrade to an Executive Room. This was perfect since it provide more space for us since we were traveling with children. The beds were already set up for the children since we were checking in very late at night. Although the hotel seems to be more oriented to conference/business clients, the staff was extremely courteous and professional and made my stay with kids excellent. The Executive level breakfast is fantastic!! Although we have family and timeshare in Cape Town, we enjoy staying at the Westin for a night or two as a treat! We look forward to our next stay. I would like to acknowledge Ideries Petersen for his assistance in making our stay so enjoyable. July 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff that really knows what service is I had one of the most pleasant stays at the Cape Town Westin and it was all because of the exemplary staff. From the bellman to the concierge to the lounge staff to desk management everyone truly exemplifies service. It was an unexpected level of service and pleasantness. The individualized attention from everyone was remarkable. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it. In fact it will make me retook at all Westins. I have always found Starwoods W hotels to be superb but had often found Westin experience lacking, but after this visit I will rethink Westins whenever they are available June 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 internet problems Thank you for reaching out. While your hotel in Cape Town has regularly been a phenomenal place to stay (excellent service, phenomenal location, clean, nice gym) I would like to offer you the heads-up on one major problem in my recent stay. The internet was down on two consecutive nights this past week. While this may seem small, it was an enormous problem for someone in Cape Town on work travel who is looking to complete a number of projects at late hours. While I would like to continue staying at Starwood hotels, notably because of your services, locations and loyalty program, I will not be able to stay at your Cape Town location going forward if this continues to be an issue. Rated 4 out of 5 by Cleaning Staff The room cleaning staff need to be more consistent with what they leave in the rooms. Some days they left toweling, other days not, same goes for other small items, one day you get the other you don't. On calling the room service to get some more toweling, they just never rocked up. The Westin is very nice, but I think for the money one pays, the breakfast could definitely improve, a lot of the food is greasy, the staff behind the cooking area could be more pleasant and not make out as if they are doing you a favor. The front staff are just brilliant and extremely helpful and really go out of their way. March 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel is great but..... The Hotel it s great but the staff( the one that checked me in) need to be fired or train how to deal with customers. I was disrespect by some member of the staff and i stay over only because i like The WESTIN and i know they don t own that hotel. i have been stay at other westin and never had a probleme but those people was so rude and impolite. i demand to speak with the general manager and they wouldn't let me to that's sucks... Anyway like i saud it's a great hotel and i expect to stay over on next trip to cape town and even recommand but they have to do something about those people in the loobie.. December 22, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful and convenient (just ignore the wear and tear) The hotel is everything you would expect from a Westin - fabulous staff, great beds, etc. The gym has amazing views as it is on the 19th floor although lots of equipment in a smaller space means the air does smell a touch sweaty. The pool is also amazing. - indoors and on the 19th floor so well woth brining you swimming costume. The rooms and hotel were starting to show a little wear and tear (eg: the fixture that holds the shower head was pulling away from the tiles, etc) but overall, I was happy to live with this (not worth moving rooms over). The food at breakfast met multicultural needs, so overall, this is a fine hotel and worth staying at due to convenience, service and comfort. August 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our Home Away From Home My wife and I just concluded a 10 night stay at the Westin. It was our first trip to South Africa and we used the hotel as our base from which to explore the Western Cape. Everything was wonderful! The location next to the entrance to N1 and N2 was so convenient. The location near the Waterfront and central business district was perfect. The friendly and efficient service in the Executive Club on the 19th floor could not have been better, especially with the drop-dead gorgeous views of Table Mtn and Robben Island. We rented a car for a week and parked under the hotel (very convenient). The whole experience just reinforced my loyalty to Westin as a brand that cares about it's customers. November 30, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dissapointments in 5 star Hotel My rooms kettle was not working, had to be replaced. The hairdryer was out of order, had to be replaced. Housekeeping did not replace the used tea bags, I had to phone them to replace. I order room service, food was very good but salt pot had no salt. My room did not have any 'Do not disturb' sign, I had to create a handwriiten one. At the breakfast table, the salt pot had salt but was so clogged from damp weather, did not run. All in all, very mediocre experience except for good food and friendly service. August 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by staff tops proffesionalism, attentative staff, quality of ammenities September 23, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing, Weak and Bad Service The interleading door HANDLE between my two rooms were broken, The curtain was hanging off the rail. There was a plastic tag, torn off from a new clothing item that remained in the same place in the bathroom for 4 days. The response to requests was slow and sometimes non existent, and this was for being on the "Executive Floor". The WIFI was the worst ever. As for the slow breakfast service response times, horrible. Not WESTIN service. As for the FITNESS centre it was very small. with very little equipment. the open areas in the fitness centre was smaller than my bathroom and to top it off, they allow a Personal Trainer to conduct sessions in that little miserable excuse of a fitness centre. Rated 5 out of 5 by A Must Stay in Cape Town We arranged pick up from the airport through the hotel as we were getting in late. Our driver was on time and promptly delivered us to the hotel. Our room was upgraded to a corner suite with a gorgeous view of Table Mountain and the Wharf. The room was functionally well designed and beautifully decorated. It seems everything for a guest's comfort had been considered including the amply sized bathroom with separate toilet, shower and dressing room and heated floors! The executive lounge was also beautifully designed and amply sized for a large number of guests and the food selections for breakfast and cocktail hour were outstanding. Our best memory of the hotel will be the warm congenial staff who made us feel so comfortable and welcome. We truly regretted saying goodbye to them when we left. August 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Location, fantastic view The pool and spa area is not a party area! it is for guests who want to relax! People are walking through the spa and pool area in their street clothes and street shoes, swiming without having a shower before they enter, and they swim in underwear and t-shirts and are noisy and they think they are in a disco! Me and another guest left the premises, after we both made the people aware of the relaxing area, and they did not adhere to the regulations at all! No staff was available at the front desk ( 21h00). Guests should have excess with their room excesscard and not people from the street! July 3, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor customer service for a 5 star hotel Staff were not very helpful, I was given the wrong room key which was occupied and I walked in. My bags were apparently taken to another room, I was not contacted about this mistake but had to go down and sort it out myself without so much as an apology. Reservations was made for 4 people which was confirmed telephonically, only 1 room was booked. The bathroom floor was still dirty, the toilet roll holder was broken. Reception staff remained unfriendly and were not very helpful throughout my stay. The "don't care" attitude is definitely not what I expected from a 5 star establishment. August 5, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible service In advance of my stay I emailed the hotel with my SPG details, plus some additional requirements for my stay. On arrival I was informed that emails sent using the website email address aren't received my the hotel. This lead me to be given an unacceptable room for the first night and then I had to mvoe rooms on day 2 which is a terrible inconvience. ON check out there was nothing less than a fiasco with my billing, an experience that was identical to my previsous visit in April - if you are a business man that is used to good international service then this hotel is best avoided September 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great hotel! Although at first I was concerned that this hotel is next to the convention center (and might be too crowded, etc.) I was pleasantly surprised that this Westin was as good as any I have stayed in (and I am Platinum SPG). The rooms were great and the location not far from the V & A Waterfront a plus. Also having the "hop on hop off" stop right next store at the convention center was extremely convenient. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and I was particularly impressed with how quickly our room service orders were delivered. I would definitely stay there again. September 19, 2012
