Very comfortable room de luxe executive gave us access to the very nicest executive lounge with wonderful helpful staff who served and cared - Samuel especially stood out for us. The food in this 19th floor dining facility was matched by the spectacular views.
However check in was a pretty hit and miss affair and not at all slick, problems identifying our reservation, credit card, the fact we had prepaid etc - all very pleasantly handled but hopelessly inefficient - and we had all our details registered with SPG. Although my preferences are registered it took three requests to obtain feather/down pillows - again hopeless. The breakfast restaurant when we ate downstairs had variable staff - some excellent people but there were a few who were more interested in their own needs - room for some improvement here. Overall a great stay and hotel and we will be back but we hope these issues do not occur again - training and better monitoring would appear the answer.

The staff service made my stay. Miriam from the Club Lounge was so nice and helpful in giving me advise and tips. The rooms were great.... clean, with a view. It was just a great experience. Great value for the price paid.

I had much better experience before at westin. The shower was very disappointing, handle was loose and broken etc. no slippers and tea coffee facility was not up to scratch.

We stayed at the Westin for a midweek Cape Town visit, everything was perfect and the staff great.
We stay in a lot of hotels but the staff at the Westin makes it a unique and brilliant hotel!

Connecting to the internet through wifi in this hotel is frustrating. It requires lengthy passwords that quickly expire. Bandwith is inadequate for videos. This problem made getting work done very difficult.

* best feature was heated tiles in bathroom
* shuttle bus to Waterfront area was a definite plus

We felt very comfprtable from the momment we checked-in. The staff was extremely friendly.
We arrived late at night. When we got into our room, we discovered the bathroom floor was heated. Pretty awesome.

SPG recognition was lower then expected. Most of the other SPG hotels where I have stayed offer additional benefit to SPG members over and above room category. No such benefit was offered here.

The room was comfortable but the floors of the bathroom need to be wiped clean rather than rely on the floor heater to dry them without cleaning them first.

Stayed in Cape Town over the weekend on Business/Pleasure. The Westin was quite modern and service was excellent.
I just wish it was closer to the waterfront :)
