Rated 2 out of 5 by False Advertising PROs: 1. location (close to las vegas strip without the craziness) 2. spa/fitness center (massage @ hibiscus spa was awesome!) 3. parking (close to the lobby) CONs: 1. Im a gold member with Marriott so I was glad with the recent merging with SPG that it transfers the member status as well. I read the benefits on the SPG website however, i only got the guaranteed late checkout. No "welcome gift" like what they claim on their page (ie choice of starpoints, complimentary wifi or beverage) -my account was confirmed linked so not knowing this is not an excuse! 2. Check in: I think its rude that I was in front but the lady on saturday oct 22 @ 7am was also talking to 2 other guests all at the same time. we were tired and all we wanted was to get in our room! 3. On their website they claim they are "pet friendly" , with welcome package for the pet (bowl, bed, sign on the door, etc) guess what? NONE! our pet was not allowed anywhere else per their waiver but at a little fake grass area by the parking lot similar to the mini golf area at boomers not to mention so many cigarette butts! we were so disappointed because this was the main reason we chose to stay here, that its pet friendly. overall, it was OK compared to Marriott hotels experience. Rated 3 out of 5 by OK stay My room was comfortable but I was disappointed that a suite upgrade was not available. If the rooms are being renovated then we should not be able to select them as options for the Suite Upgrade. Lets just call this poor communications. I chose the green choice and for the first time ever was given water and coffee each day. This was impressive and I really appreciated it. The buffet breakfast was the same reasonable quality every day. More variety from one day to the next would be appreciated. October 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well Done! My husband and I stayed here the weekend of September 23rd, 2016. We were not disappointed. The hotel is super close to the strip so you can walk just about anywhere but the guys out front were very helpful with cabs when we wanted. We visited the spa, pool and restaurant and even though you are in the heart of Vegas it feels super chill and relaxing. The pool is on the mezzanine rooftop and has tunes and a bar. The spa has all of the touches you would want and is full service. Breakfast was perfect. Even though the Westin is chill they still have a bar and casino which is perfect if you need to try and win your money back before you head back home. The team here should be commended. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great food! Location of hotel is decent but I'm writing to comend the chef in the restaurant. Food was so good and choices on menu were awesome. We really did not want to eat anywhere else. We eat at an Italian restaurant at the Venetian and regretted not eating at the Westin. We love love Chef Francois and the staff. Thank you! Rated 3 out of 5 by Hard to recommend although I'd like to Decent locale just off the strip. My check-in agent was super friendly and did her best to welcome me. However, her and the locale are the only positive things I can say about this hotel. Improvement is needed almost everywhere. 1- The service is just lousy. Every check-in person is barely capable of doing their job and surely they do not do it with a smile. Luckily I switched to the lady I did (Myelin) and she tried her very best to welcome me to Vegas. The lines were long when I arrived since there were only 2 people checking everyone in. Why they can't staff up is beyond me. 2- The one luggage fellow is never at his desk and makes people wait 10 minutes + for your bags. When he finally does come he's pissed off and barely wants to help you. He should be fired immediately. 3- The concierge is almost as bad. He was unoccupied when I asked for help. I had trouble deciding who was more pissed off to help me, him or the luggage fellow. Perhaps they change outfits and are the same dude?! 4- No suite upgrade for this Platinum as I was told the hotel was under renovation and over 1/2 the rooms are under construction. Understood. 5- As such I was given a regular room. The view was decent enough but the door to the room is paper thin and you hear cleaning ladies jabbering all morning and afternoon. The room itself is decent enough and the blackout curtains work. So when the cleaning crew or any guests aren't around sleep comes easily. Nice pillows too. 6- I had to call down multiple times to get extra water since I chose Green Choice. They said they'd send some right up - but never did. Another call and finally some came. 7- A friend forgot toothpaste and called down and they told him they have a little store to buy some. Huh?! I called down and asked them for toothpaste and they said of course you don't have to buy any - just come down to pick it up. You are starting to see a pattern of incompetence at this hotel, yes? 8- The pool area is decent and the pool is nice. Sadly they only have one bar dude working and trying to order anything from him takes forever. He's trying but he's only one guy. At least he was friendly unlike the front desk folk. 9- Breakfast. It's a buffet style and free for Platinums. And it's open til 11am. That's the good. The bad - the food is barely acceptable. It's low quality and the same each day. If I paid $22 for it, I'd want a refund. But hey, it was free for me - so I can't complain I guess. Although i will - since I had to pour my own water and juice two of the four days I was there. Why? I sat, filled my plate and ate all before any wait staff came to ask if we wanted coffee or a drink. Two of the days this didn't happen at least. 10- They were running a cute promo when I arrived. They had us put our hand into a bucket and pull out a piece of paper with little footballs on them. On each is a number of Starpoints to win. I won 300. Pretty cool. Except that those Starpoints were never added to my account. Another fail. I really want to like this property. It's close to the strip and allows us to earn nights towards status. But the service is just so poor and the benefits for Plats so limited I can't recommend it. September 15, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Overall Experience Great staff all around - one of the reasons I would return. Overall, the rooms and bathroom are outdated (lights,furniture and switches are old) and need a fresh colour or paint. The pool and hot tub are good amenities but not kept cleaned. We stayed 3 nights/ 4 days and did not see anyone cleaning the pool or hot tub - the same dirt was at the bottom of the pool, and the pool deck or chair cushions (stains and holes) were not cleaned. The casino was quiet but noticed old furniture was used and some chairs were ripped or had holes. Hopefully, the renos extend to the pool and casino, and add a bit of colour. September 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic stay We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property. The rooms were modern and spacious, Chicken n Waffles from the restaurant downstairs can stand up to any brunch dish in Vegas and the casino, while on the small and quiet side, had some of the best and most personable dealers in town. With all that, the most standout part of the Westin is the staff, everyone from the door man to concierge to housekeeping were kind, courteous and professional. We will definitely be staying here again next time we find ourselves in Las Vegas. September 5, 2016
