Rated 2 out of 5 by Don't breathe as you walk through the lobby The worst, and totally unavoidable, part of the hotel is the "lobby" which isn't a lobby, but a casino, and boy does it stink! When we arrived at the hotel and I walked through the front door I was confused. Had I missed the main entrance? I wasn't looking for their casino. Where was the check-in desk? I kept walking and thought, "What a bummer that to get to the main lobby you have to walk through a grungy casino that smells like an old ash tray that's been sitting in the apartment of an old man that always wears too much colon." I later learned that the way they try to counter the ancient smoke smell is to have small, motion detecting "fragrance" dispensers on a number of the walls in the "lobby" area. I hated coming into and leaving the hotel. The staff were excellent and that helped balance the experience out. But, there were other disssapointments: A number of floors have been renovated, but many haven't, and they're tired and unattractive. A flat screen HD TV, but with no digital HD channels to view?! Bottomline? I found it hard to believe I was at a Westin. September 7, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by CHOAS Computers were down for 5 days and complete and total choas ensued. waiting 8 hours for a room to become available and on top of that many of the employees had the "sucks for you but nothing we can do" attitude. DONT GO! October 27, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs Improvement The room was dirt when I walked in (hair on the bed and Oreo cookies on the floor). When I let the staff know, they responded with a simple okay…not I’m sorry I’ll take care of that. Overall, need some freshening up. August 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location Just a block away from hustle and bustle of the strip, the Westin is a quiet respite from the action. Comfortable rooms and excellent service made our five days in Vegas a great Christmas trip. December 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasantly Surprised A nice quite hotel right next door to the Las Vegas Strip. Good SPG recognition clean rooms very friendly staff and what I liked about the hotel was parking the car and the ease of getting in and out hotel. August 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Big Smoke Trip Overall quality was Westin Standard. The rooms were quiet and very comfortable. Exercise facility is getting worn out and needs updating. Food was very good and the Casino was fair. Will stay there again. November 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff Experience Overall, I was very impressed with the professionalism of the hotel staff and their willingness to help with any of my needs. I believe this was on par with 4 and 5 star hotels I've stayed at. September 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Smokey lobby The hotel is very nice bu the smell of smoke is so strong in the lobby due to the casino. I hated walking through it on my way out the door as I felt like I smelled. Can anyone turn on the fan? November 19, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a good Vegas Hotel This is a very tired Westin property. Off the strip, brown drab and not classy. The only good thing in the room is the traditional Westin Bed. I pass and stay at one of the classy strip hotels January 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Relaxing and quiet yet close to everything! I love everything about this Westin! The location, the service, the cleanliness, and the spa were all wonderful!! July 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel just off the Las Vegas strip LOVE, Love, love this hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is wonderful, dining is great and the casino is adequate. Close to all the action on the strip. A great place to stay September 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasant Hotel In the shadow of the massive Casino Hotels the Westin is quietly pleasant. The one significant deficiency is the lack of an excellent dining experience. Suede is only very average. September 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Spot If you are coming to Las Vegas for either buisness or pleasure or both this is a great location. Two blocks from the middle of the Strip. Great staff and I believe pet friendly. July 24, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel needs to be upgraded and needs better housekeeping The hotel is in a good location near the strip but not on it which made it a little easier to access during periods of heavy traffic. This is an older hotel not up to Westin standards. The bathroom had mold growing in the grout and was dirty (dust) in corners of the bathroom. The shower curtain was so long, I walked on it when in the shower. My bedside light was broken. The part where the lightbulb is screwed into the light was almost seared off and hanging by a thread under the lampshade and is probably a fire hazard. Room service was accurate and quick. However, on the last day, the room service waiter accidentally bumped the tray into a wall and a glass of iced tea fell off and shattered all over the carpet. Housekeeping came quickly. They picked up the shattered glass and vacuumed but did not clean the carpet in any other way so it was still wet and full of iced tea. So, cleanliness is a problem in this hotel for multiple reasons. Staff were friendly and helpful except in the Starbucks where they don't do many of the extras that other Starbucks will do like toast a bagel or provide butter instead of cream cheese. Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel is fine in a pinch I was disappointed with my stay. My room was worn. The wall paper coming off of the walls, the toilet paper holder coming away from the wall. My telephone didnt work. I had a hard time getting service from the front desk and I never talked to the same person twice about my needs. Suade told me they were too busy to serve me carry out food on my first challenging night at the hotel. The lobby, casino, bar tenders, waitressing staff, public restrooms, premises, front door peoples, beds, and conference amenities were good. I did enjoy the happy hour one evening. But all in all, I found the room service to be very expensive. The hotel was about 2 blocks from the strip and as a single woman I wouldnt walk there alone. Fortunately, I met some nice people and we ventured out together. Unfortunately, adding salt to my wounds, after recieving my bill and checking out, my credit card was charged extra charges...and Im waiting to have that money credited to my account. I have been to Vegas 4 times and this was my least favorite spot to stay. But the bed was awesome. I just didnt get the customer service that I enjoy on my trips. January 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Older but still nice, close to strip and quiet This is an older hotel and updated. Still comfortable and nice. Average hotel my rating a 3 star. Employees seem nice and helpful. I will return in the future. May 10, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Westin LV service is challenging, check in is challenging February 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Las Vegas gem An hotel is only as good as it's staff and the staff at the Las Vegas Westin are exemplary. We were in Las Vegas because my aunt was in hospital there for three weeks. The Westin became our home away from home, during a very scary and difficult time. Everyone seemed to know why we were there and often enquired as to how my aunt was getting on, which really meant a lot to the three of us. Marcus and his colleagues, in the restaurant at breakfast, were so kind and nice to us. Our day always started well. Our rooms were very comfortable too which was great. All in all a the Westin was five star and we are now home and my aunt is improving everyday. February 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Water bottles The water bottles in the rooms for $4.00 each is robbery. They are the smallest bottles and I would never pay $4.00 for a little drink of water. November 16, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Nuisance fees Hotel was ok. Rooms are very small. One nuisance fee: $11.50 charge for use of pool, gym, parking, none of which I used. Charge is "mandatory". September 15, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Westin LV Good location just off Strip. Interestingly,my friends who are not SPG members got nicer /more spacious rooms than me (gold member ). April 9, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by A bit dated but nice Maid was exceptional, desk staff as well, hotel seems like it's from about 20 years ago for Westin but comfortable December 8, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a 4 Star Resort "All rooms are guaranteed to sleep the number of guests you provided during your search, but we cannot guarantee the number of beds. " Per my Expedia email. They DID NOT have enough beds for 3 people. A rollaway was brought in and took up too much room to be able to use the room much. They could not help with the sleeping arrangements because this was a "Third Party" reservation. He said he would waive the Resort Fees but they showed up on my bill. Also, had GREAT difficulty in getting cups/glasses for the three of us. Got two. The Resort Fees are a joke. There is no landscaping etc. Its a building with a Casino and a parking lot. No charge for Casino goers to park in lot...Definitely not a Resort! Spa is available for a charge. Two very small water bottles per day. Again, nothing for the third person. The wallpaper was curling in the bathroom. There were black floating things in the coffee maker, despite my repeated efforts to clean it. Someone's long black hair was in the bathroom from the time we got there. The room was plain. The hallways plain. It resembled more of a no-tell motel. (The casino/check in area was refined.) Not a four star. Will never stay here again. September 12, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Smokey Smoke-free hotel yet smoke filters thru the rooms! January 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by this hotel alittle disappointed with the glass cut at the pool . other than that an awesome experience. thank you April 7, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very worn property This property needs some serious updating. Rooms are old and very substandard for Las Vegas hotels August 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by hotel has great staff The staff at the Westin LAs Vegas always goes above and beyond to guarantee my stay is perfect! September 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great atmosphere Friendly staff from the moment I arrived. Will definitely stay here the next time in Las Vegas. August 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel The staff is super, as is the cleanliness of the rooms. I especially like the work out facility June 27, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Everyday problems We had problems with reservations, we had problems with billing everyday for services we did not have or request. In addition the room carpet was filthy. Love the location and facilities. Most staff were very helpful except for one front desk person who wanted to charge us a full days SPG points for resort fees and taxes. Ludicrous! They still have not emailed my charges as they promised yesterday and have my bank money on hold. Won't be back to this facility, I will try Summerlin Aloft next time. July 9, 2014
