I stayed at this hotel for business. I called in June and booked the room through my employer. I was told that I would need to change rooms for the last night of my stay because they didn't have a two bed room for that night. I said that would be finer and gave them my employers credit card. I arrived to find out I was only booked the Sunday and not Monday as was discussed. The checkin agent was very condescending and rude he didn't try to help me just told me if I couldn't produce written proof of my reservation thru Monday it wasn't his problem. He told me he didn't have a room for Sunday but I could check back each day and see if any came open. He didn't even look in the computer to check. He waited on others while I was trying to find my confirmation and kept saying " how perfect it was that their arrangements were". We finally got checked in and I called Starwood spoke to a lovely lady who booked me a room in the same hotel not ten minutes after I was just told there weren't any. When I questioned her she didn't know what to say. The room was lacking the exhaust fan didn't work the fridge didn't work and the cups weren't refilled. The door squeaked loudly . I am an spg member and I love all of their chains and the program itself. Westins are usually my favorite stays, but this one was average due to a few missing pieces. Firstly, I havn't stayed in a hotel that did not have a fridge in the room in as long as I can remember...until now. There is something that looks like a fridge, but it does not cool. When I called the front desk to let them know the "fridge" was broken, they informed me that they no longer used it as a fridge but I could use it as storage. I suppose some people prefer their beverages and leftovers at room temperature. They did send me a fridge to the room upon request, but it was delivered by a less than friendly service man and I had to wait a bit for it to cool fully. Needless to say, it was not what I expected. I also was disappointed to make my way down to the pool only to find that it was undergoing some sort of work and would not be open during the period of my stay. The front desk did tell me I could use the pool at a nearby hotel, but I decided against walking across the street in Boston in my bathing suit and towel. Despite these dissapointments, I still reccomend the hotel because of the majority of the staff and the rooms. They were what I expect from Westin, I just wish the facilities were at 100% during my stay.

I was at this hotel several years ago when it opened and was returning for a conference. I was interested to see if I would enjoy it as much as I did when it first opened. I am happy to report I did enjoy may stay here once again.
The lobby is very large with lots of open space. There is a cool little bar in the lobby as well as access to the Starbucks, meeting rooms, gift, shop, etc. The rooms are typical Westin which is fine as it was well maintained. The bed and amenities are standard Westin and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is close by to several restaurants in the seaport area but this hotel is not downtown. It’s convenient and very close to the airport and steps away from the convention center but you don’t get any feel for Boston itself. Unfortunately, there aren’t public transportation options to get you to downtown so have to take a cab or it’s a 20 min walk.
For companies/meeting planners: I had some boxes shipped to the hotel and the service fees here are outrageous. I had 8 boxes (about 20 lbs) each shipped to the hotel and the incoming service charge was about $300 just as their handling fee (not the Fed-Ex shipping cost).
Before checking out I ordered the lobster eggs benedict and it was a disappointment. The eggs on top were completely cooked through (no runny yolks)!

We stayed at the Westin Boston Waterfront during April vacation and to attend a Bruins game and the experience could not have been nicer during a difficult time for the city of Boston, as we arrived two days after the Boston Marathon.
The hotel is easy to get to and the city of Boston is very accessible from the hotel - walk, cab or drive. The lobby is lovely, bright and open. The rooms were clean and ample for our requirements. The pool and work out facilities were spotless.
Really, though it is the staff that made this experience exceed all expectations. From the moment you step from your car. The valet and luggage attendants were helpful and friendly; going above and beyond. Mindful of concerns you may have upon entering a city that was very watchful, given recent events. And each time through the lobby and exiting/entering the hotel we were greeted with smiles, conversations and high-fives ;-) for the kids!!
Registration was so pleasant, I felt as though she was really, truly interested in where we had come from and why we were there! All exchanges with the Westin Waterfront staff from housekeeping, Concierge, registration, luggage attendants, etc. was just so warm and welcoming.
I will definitely be back to the Westin Boston Waterfront! I would highly recommend this property to those looking to stay in the city.

I have stayed at the Westin on several occasions before, and am always happy with my overall experience. This time; however, I was a bit disappointed. I checked into my first room and it appeared as if housekeeping had not come to this room yet. The beds weren't made, towels and sheets were on the floor, etc... I called the front desk and requested a room change. They were extremely accommodating and brought me to another room. This second room was no different because housekeeping had not come to this room either. I called the front desk again and asked to get moved. I asked to speak with a manager, and they sent Alex up to escort us to a clean room. Alex was extremely helpful as he apologized for the inconvenience and took care of us. I told him that I completely understand miscommunications sometimes happen, which was the case in this scenario. I appreciated his help in taking control of the situation and making sure we were escorted to a clean room. As expected, the final room was very nice, and I ended up having a wonderful time despite the mishap with the dirty rooms at the start. I was a bit disappointed because I didn't expect that to happen; however, this mishap will not hinder my willingness to stay at the Westin in the future. The way the staff handled this situation proved why they are known for superior customer service. They rescued my experience.
