Rated 5 out of 5 by Westin Alexandria Your room service menu was very limited. September 2, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel is beautiful, reasonably priced BUT. . . The service, valet and bell hand, was horrible. I waited over 20 minutes to have my car brought out front even after calling from my room ahead of time. As I was trying to check out and attend a reservation I had, the bell hand never showed up to my room to help with my bags and again, I waited 20 minutes for my car. The front desk staff had to assist me with my bags. The service was atrocious. August 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by wESTIN 8/24/14 THE SHOWER FACILITIES ARE NOT THE BEST WITH THE SHOWERHEAD BEING SET SO THAT HEAD, HAIR AND ALL ARE TOTALLY IMMERSED. THE HANDHELD SHOWER IS A SOLID STREAM AND DIFFICULT TO USE. August 27, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by customer service issues I stayed at this hotel for one night after a long drive. Checked in and fell asleep immediately. Next day when I asked if breakfast was included in my stay, representative at the desk told me I should have asked for it when I was checking in. What I still don't understand is what difference does it make when I ask for it. Its either included or not included. It sounds shady when they say you could have it had you asked for it but its too late now at 8 am August 26, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by loud air conditioning overall good value for price. not a top of the line hotel August 25, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by problems 1-when I went to my room, someone else had already checked in there...a bit creepy. 2-My wake up call on day of discharge didn't happen. 3-The courtesy driver, though nice, had me go to a different breakfast restaurant than the front desk recommended. I ended walking to the restaurant I initially wanted. August 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Westin Overall Is good hotel I like the Westin. I have stayed at this property for years. However, they need improvement on their room service ordering. The person who takes the order always gets it wrong and/or is not accomodating. They do not pay attention to details. You often have to wait longer than communciated due to staff meeting or some issue. The food is often cold when delivered. August 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by fun stay staff very hospitable, room , lobby neighborhood clean and quiet. location perfect- close but not too close to metro station and main Old Alexandria. August 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent customer service! The customer service was outstanding! Every staff member was very cordial and extremely helpful and accommodating. Smiles were always given; from the bellmen, to the front desk reps; from the housekeeping staff to the executive staff - everyone was very accommodating, professional and always helpful. Everything was fantastic!!! August 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Staff Very nice hotel with a "family" feel. The staff goes out of thier way to ensure a comfortable pleasant stay. I stay in the area often. The Westin Alexandria is my hotel of choice. August 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location and a Wonderful Weekend This hotel offers us modern facilities in a convenient location. The hotel front desk, concierge and restaurant were all professional and helpful. The room and food service were first rate. August 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Home away from home I travel a lot for work and find myself at The Westin Alexandria almost weekly anywhere from 3 to 5 days per visit. This wonderful hotel has truly become my "home away from home." Almost the entire staff I interact with from the front desk, the management team and the full staff of the Trademark Drink and Eat know me by name. Many others recognize me and always say hello to me. The entire staff is friendly and extremely professional top to bottom. This makes for a very warm and comfortable stay. The facility is very comfortable top to bottom. The beds and bedding are some of the best ever, another important element when traveling a lot. The hotel is always very clean, especially the guest rooms. For anyone needing one night or fifteen nights a month as I do, I truly recommend The Westin Alexandria for your stay. Their focus on guest comfort is the best in the industry and a great value. August 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel is great Staying at this hotel is always a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well furnished. It is convenient to the Metro and the trolley to Old Town. When visiting Washington DC we always stay at this hotel. August 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Staff was exceptional Taking a moment to say thank you to Robin who went above and beyond to get my suit to a dry cleaner and returned the same day -- within a few hours. Most would have just said no. She made it happen. Thank you. August 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable, Clean and Enjoyable This is the second time my wife and I stayed at this property. Our first visit was to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this most recent stay (from 7/31 thru 8/3) was to attend the International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses at FedEx Field in Landover, MD. As expected, our room was comfortable, clean and enjoyable. The water pressure in the shower was great, the bed was extremely comfortable and allowed us to have a very restful sleep. The staff, especially at the front desk, was very pleasant and helpful. There were some challenges, however, that I wanted to make you aware of. (1) The hotel did not appear to be ready to accomodate so many people, many of whom were attending the International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses, as the valet parking was chaotic and disorderly. The bellmen seemed to be struggling to keep up. Some people waited over half an hour to have their vehicles retrieved. (2) There were insufficient baggage handling carts. In fact, there only appeared to be 2 or 3, which made check-in and check-out a nightmare. One bellman informed me that I would have to wait an hour for a baggage cart. As such, I had to make several trips with my luggage in hand since no carts were available. (3) I was concerned with the $10 'MISC' surcharge billed to my account for each night of my stay (totaling $30). Although very pleasant, the staff at the front desk could not explain this charge to my satisfaction. It was not properly categorized as a 'Room Tax' or 'State Tax' or anything that could be reasonably explained. As such, I reported this to the Rooming Department associated with our convention, as this seemed to be outside of the negotiated rates. Other than the above referenced challenges, we enjoyed our stay at this property and would not hesitate to stay again. August 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Had no issues. Staff was very helpful and quick to respond to all my needs and were a pleasure to deal with. Very happy and I would stay here again. Recommend this as a good place to stay. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by a great place we were at westin for a wedding--the room was very clean and staff was very pleasant and courteous--we would definitely stay here again August 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by A good option so far Well finished and good location. They should offer military discount. Employees were always simpathics and helpfull. We miss breakfast facilities considering room rates. The valet services works very well. August 1, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Move to green meant shortcuts On a 4 night stay, we had the option of opting out of room service to help be green and build up extra star points. Problem is, housekeeping staff took it upon themselves to opt out for us. "Here are some towels. We will check with you tomorrow," was the comment on the first day as a stack of extra towels were thrust upon us. We thought we could do it for a day, so we took them and went with the plan. Problem is, nobody checked the next day or the day after. We tracked do a staff person in a different section, received some more towels and asked the room be done. "Sure" = Not done each day. By the end we extremely low or out of toilet paper, tissues, coffee, water bottles (funny how we were to receive a free bottle daily in SPG), and towels. At one point we were forced to use the bathrobe as a floor mat. Going green is an commendable ideal. However, the shortcuts made by the staff in the name of the program cut drastically into the quality of the stay. Aside from these issues, stay was fine. Front staff were helpful, pleasant and efficient at check in. Lounge staff tended to be a little gritchy but food was fine. The neighborhood near the hotels is sparse for activities for several blocks. Unless you are there for local business don't expect to see or do much without traveling at least a mile walking distance or hitting the Metro stop 3-4 blocks away. July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel Fantastic location and within easy walking distance to offices nearby and whole food and other shops. Staff were average July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great features hall way, 5th and 6th floors need vacuuming. Very apparent they had not been cleaned in awhile. July 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A luxurious stay at a reasonable rate Just using it as a weekend getaway, the hotel had a very nice sized room with great views into the city and south. The staff we did interact with was very nice. Casual in a professionally determined way. The hotel is located far enough away from Old Towne that the value was definitely there. But you're still extremely close to all the hustle and bustle of King Street et al. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. And being in the SPG program got us on the top floor which was very nice. Rated 3 out of 5 by Not fair for me to write this I stayed here two nights. The first was ok but that was because my wife did not land in Richmond until 12:30 am. So we checked in at 3am. The second night was ok as well but that was due to a huge party going on next door. I had to call the front desk twice once at 12 am and the second at 2 am. they were pounding on the doors and wallls. not a good night. Rececommended this hotel to a friend and he and his wife stayed there as well just because it was so close to the meto station. July 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Westin Hotel This Hotel has Excellent facilities and service! July 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Service - Not all began too well...but problems were solved satisfactorily. I was offered a king bed for me and my cousin, then we declined and requested double beds and got a room (404) with view to a roof. I didn't mind, but when I was taking a shower late that evening, the faucet did not regulate the water temperature..(for about 15 minutes I tried).and there I was soap all over my face while I was calling the front office for help. When the maintenance help came to the room, he inspected the faucet and found it out of service. This gentleman (forgot his name but he said he is Moroccan when I asked him where from) was very pleasant and eager to help us get another room. He even took our bags to the next room. Unfortunately, I had an accident that day and was taking painkillers and was not very comfortable with this incident. I thought that my cousin had giving him a tip, and I did not tip him neither. I felt very ashamed and sad when I asked my cousin and found out that he did not tip the maintenance man because he deserved a nice tip for the prompt response to take ownership of our problem and for solving it satisfactorily. Please give him my apologies for not tipping him. He was our hero that night. July 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Nice The room was very comfortable, the ambiance was great throughout the hotel. Hotel catered food for our business meeting was fresh and delicious. The shuttle driver took me to and from the waterfront, so being located a slight distance away was fine. July 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Off the beaten path The hotel is lovely and the stay was fine. It is off the beaten path - hard to find and somewhat difficult to get to local features as the single van was far too busy for the demand - ultimately ended up caught in a downpour trying to walk so I didn't have warm and cozy feelings. July 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not good value relative to cost or location Hotel rooms and conference space were always cold, costly internet service, and the restaurant was extremely noisy - needs some quiet areas, Nice gym, comfortable beds, meal staff for conference meetings were very accommodating and helpful regarding special meal, food for conference was very good, appreciative of van service. Location not good for old town, taxis not readily available as told. July 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The staff makes this hotel memorable The staff from the moment we checked in, made us as comfortable as possible. We had two rooms and one was ready early, they gave it to us so my 87 year old mother could relax after a long day of travel. When the second room was ready they brought us the key. The staff helped us with a wheelchair to make my mother comfortable. They all went above and beyond. July 11, 2014
